A Lego Bio-Storm Mechanical Spider Stormtrooper

A Lego Bio-Storm Mechanical Spider Stormtrooper

In Star Wars Stormtroopers and the Galactic Empire have all the coolest toys. AT-ATs, AT-STs, Star Destroyers, a Death Star. Why not add a gigantic robot spider to their arsenal? This Lego Bio-Storm Mechanical Spider Stormtrooper is the creation of Yichen King. It is a giant over engineered mecha with a bunch of lasers. We all know how well trained Stormtroopers are with lasers. The whole robot features an open cockpit. Perfect for sight-lines, and fresh air. Maybe not so safe in battle. Well it should be okay, the pilot is wearing a helmet. As a Lego MOC there is a lot going on. The greebling is top-notch. The fuel canisters and engine in the back look great. And the spider robot even has its own face, with cute little black fangs.

The Slave I, A Massive New Lego Star Wars Ship Revealed (75060)

Lego Star Wars Slave I, 75060 Box

Recently at BrickCon, Lego revealed its newest entry into the Lego Star Wars Ultimate Collectors Series (UCS) will be the iconic Slave I (75060). This new set will feature 1,996 pieces and will retail for around $199.99. This is the set that almost every Star Wars fan has always wanted. It will include a Boba Fett, Han Solo (and Carbonite version), Bespin guard, and Stormtooper Minifigures.

Lego Star Wars Slave I, 75060 Profile

Best of all the scale of this ship feels right, the set doesn’t feel too large or too small. It is officially in the Minifigure scale. The photos can be a little misleading, but this is a huge spaceship. Easily the size of a small dog, or baby.

Lego Star Wars Slave I, 75060 Minifigures

The Slave I is a modded Firespray-31 class attack craft, famously used by Boba Fett, and Jango Fett. The design of the model is a good compromise of the SNOT style and more typical Lego style. Most of the exposed studs act as a sort of texture, giving the Slave I a well used appearance. This is certainly not a brand new star fighter.

Lego Star Wars Slave 1, 75060 Ship

Lego designed the model to work in both configurations, the vertical and horizontal positions. The wings and cockpit can both rotate to fit whatever position Boba Fett is flying. Which is a really sleek feature for this set.

Lego Star Wars Slave I, 75060 Minifigures

The version of Boba Fett is exclusive to this UCS, as is the Bespin Guard. Also included is Han Solo, a Carbonite version of Han Solo, and a standard Storm Trooper.

Lego Gardening: Beautifully Themed Lego Flower Pots

Jin Kai Soo's The Lord Of The Rings Lego Flower Pot

Sometimes you want to build Lego. Sometimes you want to plant a garden. Sometimes you want to do both, at the same time. Jin Kai Soo has created a mini series of Lego flower pots. Built around popular themed sets. The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and the Simpsons make up the first round of pots. These vignettes have captured some of the most iconic scenes in Lego form, and then integrated living plants. The end result is amazingly beautiful.

Jin Kai Soo's Lego Star Wars Flower Pot

The little details really stand out. The choice of plants in each plot is spot on. The knobby roots for the little Hobbits to hide behind. The mossy and lush plants recreating the Forest Moon of Endor. And, the tiny and in scale plants outside the dinner from the Simpsons movie. The other details are great too. The skeleton Stormtrooper and the hungry crocodile fit in perfectly.

These Lego flower pots have been proposed as a project over on Lego Ideas. Go check them out, and vote for them. Other ideas have been proposed, such as Life of Pi, and Jack and the Beanstalk. You can find more photos featuring construction and water flow allowences.

Lego Star Wars Figures by -derjoe-

derjoe Lego Star Wars Figures, Bounty Hunters Executor Meeting

Flickr user, -derjoe- has been creating these hilarious Lego Star Wars figures for some time. The proportions and basic geometry work surprisingly well.  The “Bounty Hunters ‘Executor Meeting’ ” is a great recreation of that famous scene from The Empire Strikes Back. These guys are built in a “Klotzkopf-Style” which roughly means “Block Head” in english. These have recently appeared in a book titled “Build Your Own Galaxy: The Big Unofficial Builder’s Book

“Look Sir, Droids!” features one of the most famous scenes from Return of the Jedi.

“Brick Patrol I” by Peter Fendrik, Lego Star Wars 3D Art

PeterFendrik's Brick Patrol 3D Lego Star Wars by Peter Fendrik

There are a couple of (internet) famous art pieces done involving Lego. One of those is “Brick Patrol I” by Peter Fendrik. This 3D Lego Star Wars render is almost perfect. The composition works well, the depth of field is great, and the color are vibrant. This is how everyone imagines their Lego bricks while building. What really makes this are the two Lego built planets in the background. These Lego Stormtroopers make a perfect desktop background.
