Go Ink With These Splatoon Lego Figures

The Inklings are the coolest squids around. Their street style mixed with their talent to ink everything in sight makes them some of the most memorable video game characters. By far the best new series from Nintendo in the past decade. A Splatoon Lego theme would look great. These Lego Inklings are created by Lego 7. The figures come equipped with their own specialized weapon/tool, a Splattershot, a Splat Roller, and a Splatterscope. Each item is instantly recognizable and they are even color coordinated with their Inkling. The Lego figures are able to be displayed in a variety of poses, achieved by a variety of small clips. Some of the coolest features include the brick built headphones, the ink tanks on their backs, and their eye design. Each figure also comes with a display base. There is even a Splatoon Squid swimming up the side of the tallest column. Then there is the variety of stickers that do a great job representing the graffiti/stickers all over each level.

This Lego Fabuland Village Has Everything!

Lego had a theme back in 1970s and 1980s called Fabuland. A kids theme that features a village of cute animals. Well over 100 sets were released in those two decades. It was extremely popular in Europe, where they had their own TV show, puzzles, vinyl records, and all sorts of merchandising. There were two defining features of the theme, bright primary colors, and the Fabuland figures (bigger than a Minifigure, but not as big as a Duplo figure). Today, Fabuland is enjoying a long retirement. But, with the release of Animal Crossing on the Nintendo Switch there is new interest in the theme.

This Lego Fabuland Village Has Everything - Old Version

This Lego Fabuland Village is called “Bring back Lego Fabuland” and is created by Lasse Vestergård and Anne Mette. The neat thing about this creation, is that it comes in two parts. They have created a village using modern Lego building techniques and colors, and they have built an exact clone but using techniques and colors used in the original Fabuland sets. A lot of work has gone into making both versions the best possible.

Both villages have the same features. It is like looking into another dimension where everything is the same but different. The main street has cars, motorcycles, and a double decker bus. The town has a large collection of houses, including a windmill and a gas station. Everything is positioned around a crystal clear blue river with a beautiful Paddle Boat (Paddle steamer). There is even an airplane flying over everyone.

Reviving the Fabuland theme would certainly be a hit. The animal villagers all have a lot of personality and Lego made sure that a lot of them have a backstory. Each one is unique and has their own name. The elephants in particular are a favorite.

A Pair Of Robots — A Lego MOC

This cute pair of robots is a Lego MOC created by R 194. The two of them look very similar but they are actually very different. Almost like a deluxe model and a junior model. The heads are based on a 2×3 shape. The difference in their eye design is interesting. Both work well. The bigger model has one major upgraded feature compared to its smaller version. It has ears. The big robot also has improved arms with an elbow joint, and improved legs with knees. Another interesting detail that works well is that the big robot has a slightly different design for both its feet. It helps give is a bit more personality.

Haku, Chihiro, And No-face — Spirited Away Lego Figures

This collection of Spirited Away Lego figures is created by Dylan Lane. Featuring the main characters; there is Haku, Chihiro, and No-face. All three of them are in scale to each other, and are easily recognizable. A hard achievement seeing that there is such little room for detail. This version of Haku is his human form, before he knows his real name. Chihiro is in her normal cloths. While No-face is in his much more friendly timid form. A few of the details that work well include the 2×2 black dish for Haku’s hair, the 1×2 grill brick for Chihiro’s hair, and the white rounds pieces on the 2×1 slope used for socks! If No-face offers you any gold do not take it.

Jump Through Some Portals With This Lego Rick And Morty

Grab your portal gun and run. In Rick and Morty it is revealed that there are infinite worlds that also have alternate dimensional versions of Rick and Morty. As told in the episode “Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind.” This Lego MOC of Rick and Morty is the work of MadLEGOman. There must be a dimension out there where everyone and everything is made out of Lego. And their Rick and Morty might just look like these two. The two Lego figures are fully articulated, and can hold many poses. Morty is is made out of submarine propeller housing pieces, and has Minifigure legs for fingers. Rick has a brick built lab jacket and comes with a portal gun. One thing that is easy to overlook is that these figures are a lot taller than at first glance. Ricks head alone is about the size of a fist. These two are ready for some weird adventures.

A Super Cute Baby Yoda Made Of Lego

There are a bunch of ways to make a Baby Yoda out of Lego. This cute Baby Yoda is built by Hamid and based on the design by legotruman. This version is based on the Brickheadz style. This one is a little bit bigger than the official scale. A sort of deluxe Brickheadz. The extra width gives more space to pack in as much cuteness as possible. The overall shape has a good flow, with an excellent use of SNOT design techniques. Some of the nice details include the green overhanging pieces on the ears, the tiny amount of green showing on the arms, and the super smooth collar design. The eyes give the Lego figure a lot of personality. In the end, you just want to boop Baby Yoda on the nose.

Lego Oshino Shinobu From Monogatari

This Lego Oshino Shinobu is based off of the Monogatari series of light novels. A light novel is a young adult book that contains the occasional illustration. Since the original publication the series has been released as a manga and anime. This brick built Lego figure is super stylish. The lego slopes and arches are used to achieve the overall shape. Check out the googles, the detailed hair, and spindly arms.

Gotta Collect Them All – Lego Fabuland Maxifigs

Lego Fabuland has a storied past. The Lego theme ran from 1979 to 1989, and had over 100 official sets released. Not quite Duplo and not quite Lego, Fabuland was in this weird in-between space. They were one of the first themes to be licensed out to non-lego products. Including books, vinyl records, and puzzles. There was even an official Lego television program called Edward and Friends that aired in 1987 and 1988. The most recognizable part of the Fabuland theme are all the characters. There are well over 50 of them. They were bigger than Minifigures, and included sculpted unique faces/heads.

This collection of Lego Fabuland Maxifigs is created by Koen Van Der Biest. These MOCs are expertly made and really show off the personality of their Fabuland characters. It looks like Catherine Cat, Bonnie Rabbit, Wilfred Walrus, and Maximillian Mouse make up the first group. Then there is Hannah Hippo with a wheelbarrow. In the next group is Peter Pig, Freddy Fox, Charlie Crow, Clive Crocodile, Bianca Lamb, Peter Panda, and Edward Elephant. (I may have mixed up a couple of them…)

Cute Batman Lego Brickbuilt Figures (and Robin)

Helen Sham of Small Bricks Big World – 小積木大世界 – has been building all sorts of Lego figures. Recently she has been building Batmans. Lots and lots of Batmans. There are at least eight of them, including normal Batman, Rainbow Batman, the Lego Movie Batman, and Fairy Batman. These figures are big, and seem to have a decent amount of motion. Helen has also offered them up for sale, which you can contact her for more details (here).

The best thing is that there are other big Lego figures. Including Robin and the Joker!

Three Droids And A Princess, A Lego Star Wars Collection

Here is a Lego Star Wars collection of brick built figures based on Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. There is Princess Leia (the only human), R5-D4, R2-D2, and C-3PO. They are built mostly in scale with each other. R2-D2 and R5-D4 are great little builds with a lot of character. In fact the R2-D2 reminds me of the new and rare R2-D2 polybag (30611) from Lego. C-3PO is a great build, and a lot of time went into making sure he was perfect. The key was finding all the correct gold pieces. The Lego vent pieces as the torso wiring is a great solution. Last but not least is Princess Leia. Her brick built figure has the famous hair buns, and is much more posable then she looks. Check out the photos below to see what she can do. A rather large set was also built of the space ship Tantive IV. Allowing a recreation of one of the most famous scenes in the series.

The Princess Leia and R2-D2 were built as a tribute for Carrie Fisher and Kenny Baker. Below, you can really see how well these Lego figures work together. The title of this photo is “”Did you miss me?”
