Go Ink With These Splatoon Lego Figures

Go Ink With These Splatoon Lego Figures, Lego MOC

The Inklings are the coolest squids around. Their street style mixed with their talent to ink everything in sight makes them some of the most memorable video game characters. By far the best new series from Nintendo in the past decade. A Splatoon Lego theme would look great. These Lego Inklings are created by Lego 7. The figures come equipped with their own specialized weapon/tool, a Splattershot, a Splat Roller, and a Splatterscope. Each item is instantly recognizable and they are even color coordinated with their Inkling. The Lego figures are able to be displayed in a variety of poses, achieved by a variety of small clips. Some of the coolest features include the brick built headphones, the ink tanks on their backs, and their eye design. Each figure also comes with a display base. There is even a Splatoon Squid swimming up the side of the tallest column. Then there is the variety of stickers that do a great job representing the graffiti/stickers all over each level.

Lego and Nintendo went all out on this set. Specifically trying to be as accurate as possible. The nostalgia is one of the main selling points as Lego points out that this set is a way to recapture childhood magic. You can plug in the controller and even load the game cartridge. The Lego NES is mostly in scale, and the size of this set is a lot bigger than first appearances.

The Lego Nintendo Entertainment System (71374) Building Set

One of the coolest features is the 1970s / 1980s style television. It features all the expected fake wood paneling, knobs, and even comes with a stand. A lot of the labels and details are achieved with stickers, which in a way, is accurate to these old TVs.

The Lego NES - Nintendo Entertainment System (71374) Announced

The backside reveals some very interesting build details. According to the label, this is a LO-TECH 1310 Color TV. The old hook ups are all present (coaxial and component), and an antenna can be positioned in whatever direction needed to pick up those Lego signals. On the side is a small hand crank, which leads to one of the most interesting Lego play features ever built.

The Lego NES - Nintendo Entertainment System (71374) - TV Television

The TV displays a Lego version of the first level from Super Mario Bros. The special feature is that with the hand crank you can advance the level all the way to the end. The effect is achieved with a complicated system of Technic pieces and a lot of flat plates. A bunch of neat printed tiles are featured including: Goombas, Koopa shells, a super star, coins, and question blocks. There is even a custom printed Lego Mario tile!

The Lego NES - Nintendo Entertainment System (71374) Announced Level

As the level advances (by turning the crank) Lego Mario will actually run through the level. Running and jumping all the way to the end. You can even combine the bluetooth Mario figure from the Super Mario theme with the TV. The Lego Mario will animate and play all the music and sound effects in time with what is on the TV. A neat feature, achieved with a bunch of brightly colored plates. An evolution of what is found in the Hidden Side theme.

The Witcher Geralt — A Lego Brickheadz Figure

The Witcher Geralt — A Lego Brickheadz Figure

This Lego Brickheadz of the Witcher Geralt is created by Dr. Zarkow. The figure is based on the iconic design from the video games (not the recent Netflix show). An older and more grizzled Geralt which is reflected with the bright white hair and scars. This Brickheadz figure does a great job of capturing the hairstyle and facial hair. It uses exposed studs to reflect the scruffy beard which is a great use of texture. The 2×3 tan flat plate is a perfect piece, and the scar looks good on Geralt. The Witcher armor on the body is simple. The 1×2 grill plates, and the brown and black details recreates the plated leather armor. The only thing missing from the Witcher is his second silver sword. Now I am wondering what all the other characters would look like in this style… The Crones, Uma, or even Zoltan.

Lego Ultraman Will Save The World

Lego Ultraman Will Save The World

Ultraman is a character from the Ultra Series, a collection of TV shows, films, and video games. One of the first giant monster fighting series from Japan. This Lego Ultraman (ウルトラマン) is created by Moko. The figure has a lot of interesting features, and is a deceptively complicated build. Ultraman has been built in parts, kind of like a bunch of mini builds, and then assembled at the end. This type of design means that each part looks complete, and every angle that you can view of the figure looks good. Ultraman is fully posable, and features a full set of articulation points. The head can move side to side, up and down, and swivel. The torso can turn side to side, while the arms move at the elbow and feature a neat double jointed shoulder. There are also joints in the wrists, fingers, pelvis, knees, and ankles. All of that means that this Ultraman can be displayed any way you can think. Make sure to check out the video below to see how it all works.

The Post Apocalypse In Reno, Nevada

The Post Apocalypse In Reno. The Gate Of Nevada 2075 Lego MOC.

Welcome to Reno, the biggest little city in the world. In the post apocalypse a pair of survivors have found refuge in Nevada. Their current shelter is a ruined airplane that they found in the high desert. This Lego vignette is called “The Gate Of Nevada: 2075” and is created by Mr.MOCsProductions. Built as an entry into the Vignweek 2020 challenge. The specifice theme for this entry is: post apocalyptic. The crashed biplane is a great build. It is emerging from the sandy soil. The plane has a lot of detail especially in the wings. The support structure is a complicated system of bars and clips; the end result looks great. There are also a few rubber bands being used to look like some minor repairs have been done. The two Minifigures look appropriatly end-of-the-worldish. They both come equipped with custom guns. The flags hanging from the telephone pole look great, which is helped by a few custom printed flags. The biggest feature of the vignette is the Reno sign. It has an appropriatly retro look to it, created by using some of the new Lego Dots bricks. Hopefully the nuclear fallout has passed, otherwise the future is going to get a lot harder for these two.

Hornet, The Knight, And The Hollow Knight

The Hornet, The Knight, And The Hollow Knight, Silksong Lego MOC

Hollow Knight has some of the most memorable characters and boss fights in any recent video game. The stylized underground world of bugs is surprisingly beautiful. Lego creator Dylan Mievis has created a trio of figures from Hollow Knight. There is the enigmatic Hornet who has proved so popular that she will soon be starring in her own video game called Silksong. The Lego Hornet figure features her deadly weapon named Needle, and she comes wrapped up in cloth from a Lego Star Wars figure. The black tentacle pieces work perfectly for legs. The Lego Knight is the shortest of the bunch and comes equipped with his Nail. Who would know that the future of the nest rests on his shoulders.

The Hornet, The Knight, And The Hollow Knight Lego MOC

The last Lego figure is The Hollow Knight. One of the hardest bosses that the Knight has to fight. Infected by the plague, this creation is based on their first boss form. This figure ended up being a bit hard to balance properly. To hold up the weight of the head, there is a hidden Technic support structure running through the body. A great detail is the hint of the infection showing through the eyes, and all along the base. The green clothing is made up of over 15 individual capes from Boba Fett figures.

The Broken Vessel — A Hollow Knight Lego Build

The Broken Vessel — A Hollow Knight Lego Build

Hollow Knight is one of the best video games of the past few years. A super stylish metroidvania taking place in the bug kingdom called Hollownest. The main character starts off on a quest with only their trusty nail. Along the way a whole host of bosses must be defeated, and a few friends will be made in the process. One of those bosses is the Broken Vessel; a shell of a bug that has been taken over by a parasite. This Lego version of the Broken Vessel is created by Aardvark17. Built as an entry into the Bio-Cup 2020, which the challenge is to build something involving Nature and Parasites. The orange parasite parts are well done and look infectious. One of the great details is the bit of the orange leaking through the eyes. Any bug would know to stay away.

Popping Balloons In Lego Animal Crossing

Popping Balloons In Lego Animal Crossing

In Animal Crossing someone keeps sending balloons to your island. These unexpected gifts announce their arrival with a subtle swooshing sound. Once you track one down it is a mad rush to get out a sling shot. Only when popped will the balloons drop their glorious loot. Maybe it is a few pieces of clay, some iron, a random piece of furniture, or maybe it is 10,000 bells! This Animal Crossing Balloon Lego build is created by bekonen7. The micro scale island is a great creation all on its own. The mini version of Nooks Cranny is instantly recognizable to anyone who has sunk a few hours into the video game. It even has the dropbox and chalkboard with todays hot item. The stone bridge and waterfall are also perfectly simple. The fun thing about this Lego scene is that the balloon is hooked up to power functions and it mimics the swaying motion from the game. The technic pieces and gears are surprisingly complicated for something that looks simple. It really makes you want to get out there and start popping balloons!
