New Lego Minecraft Summer 2015 Sets

New Lego Minecraft Sets 2015

There is going to be a new Lego Minecraft wave of sets released. The summer 2015 sets will arrive in August (although you will probably see them pop up a week or two early). It looks like there will be 2 smallish sets, and 2 large sets. It is interesting that there are no small impulse buy sets. The Lego Minecraft line is not the most affordable, and this release continues that trend. Two of these new sets will see the first Minifigures of Alex. The female counterpart to Steve. Maybe someday she will be able to sell a set all my herself. The new Snow Golem looks extremely goofy, and it’s good to see the famous Minecraft Wolf represented. The big mystery (at least for me) is the 154 graffitied all over the Nether set. If you know what it means, let me know in the comments.

The Dungeon (21119) is the smallest set and comes with Steve and 2 Zombies.

The Snow Hideout (21120) is a medium sized modular set with Steve, a Creeper and the all new Snow Golem.

The Desert Outpost (21121) is a large modular set, with Alex, Steve, a Wolf, and 2 Skeletons.

Finally, the big set this summer is The Nether Fortress. Featuring Alex, Steve, a Zombie Pigman, a Ghast, and Blaze.Lego Minecraft The Nether Fortress 21122

Lego Minecraft, The Cave (21113) Parts & Set Review

newelementary's Lego Minecraft 21113 TheCave Review

The new Lego Minecraft sets are almost here, and a bunch of early reviews are showing up. The sets look fun and are somewhat accurate to the video game. But, do they bring anything new to the crafting table? Thanks to New Elementary we know the answer is yes! New Elementary specializes in writing about new and exciting Lego pieces or elements. Their new review of Lego Minecraft (2113) The Cave goes into everything new about the set. They theorize that: “If these Minecraft sets ever go on offer they will disappear before you can say scalper.

newelementary's Lego Minecraft 21113 TheCave, Minifigures

The most obvious of the new pieces all revolve around the Minifigures. In The Cave, you get new square Minecraft themed heads for Steve, the Creeper, and the Spider. For some people the new design is extremely weird, but it is pointed out that the standard round Minifigure head is weird too (when you think about it). Most people will get used to it over time.

newelementary's Lego Minecraft 21113 TheCave, Black Pneumatic TBar 6102782

The most exciting thing about The Cave, according to New Elementary, is a single new Lego piece. A Black Pneumatic T-Bar (6102782, 4697). For many years now this piece has only been available in gray. The new color allows the piece to be used in many more builds, and will blend in much better in most situations. For some people the price of this set will be worth it just for these 3 T-Bars.

New Lego Minecraft 2015, Minifigure Scale Sets

New Lego Minecraft 2015 The Farm and The Cave

The Lego Minecraft theme has been one of the most successful lines. The first few Micro World sets capture the spirit and look of the super popular video game, but the tiny Lego pieces and small size were deterrents to the smallest Lego Minecraft fans (and people with large fingers). The good news is the there is a whole new theme for Lego Minecraft coming in 2015. There will be 6 sets in this release, including a super interesting Crafting Box. This new style of playset reminds me of the more imagination friendly Brick Boxes. This is a really interesting direction to explore, and it will more then likely prove to be very popular.

New Lego Minecraft Sets 2014

Lego is going all in with the Minecraft theme this year. The upcoming Lego Minecraft Microworld: The End (21107) was revealed earlier this year, and is set to hit the market this summer. Now, some leaked release details have revealed six new Lego Minecraft themed sets for the future. Some, or all of these sets may be the official release of the Minecraft Minifigure scale theme. For the past year Lego has been posting regular updates on their Co-Build project over on Facebook, which has been focusing on the Minifig scale. So far, only the set names, release date (November 7th!), and price points have been revealed…

First Image of the New Lego Minecraft Micro World: The End (21107)

Lego Minecraft Micro World The End 21107

The first photo of the new Lego Minecraft Micro World: The End (21107) has been revealed. The new set will be available sometime this summer (2014). The set designer, Steen, is showing off the new set. Which will feature the Endermen and an Ender Dragon. This is the forth set in the line, and if Lego were to discontinue the theme this would be the perfect release. Or, maybe there are still other Minecraft Micro Worlds in the works…

I wonder how this set will fit in with the other Minecraft Micro Worlds.

Lego Minecraft Co-build Holiday Update!

Lego Minecraft Co-build Jungle

Lego has been running a Minecraft Co-build project over on Facebook.  The goal of the project is to create Lego sets in a Minifigure scale Minecraft theme. The Lego designers for this project are working with the community. Minecraft and Lego fans get to vote on various details, such as the shape and articulation of the Creeper, the possible biome settings, etc. One of the huge announcements based on community feedback is that the final sets will have no stickers. Pictured here are two of the “in progress” biomes. A desert/sand set, and a jungle set. Steve is looking pretty good, and sporting a pixelated sword.

Lego Minecraft Co-build Sand

Lego has recently released a video update. Recapping some of the recent design decisions and such. It is worth a look, and reveals just how much thought and time goes into designing an official Lego set.

Lego Minecraft: The Village & Lego Minecraft: The Nether Available Now

Lego Minecraft is one of those perfect themes. The two come together to create some of the best Lego sets of all time. The Lego Minecraft Micro World set is easily one of the best selling Lego sets of last year. Often selling out of stock once the set had been replenished. Lego has noticed, and has been continually “reprinting” the original Minecraft set. Now Lego has officially released two new sets in the Minecraft theme. Making this the first CUUSOO project to graduate into a full theme. The new Lego Minecraft: The Village and Lego Minecraft: The Nether are now available through Lego and Amazon.

The early reviews are starting to show up, and are generally forming the opinion that these new sets are great. Perfect for anyone who enjoyed the original. Check out the details at Amazon:

Two New Lego Minecraft Sets: The Village (21105) & The Nether (21106)

Lego Minecraft The Village 21105

Lego has officially announced two new Lego Minecraft sets. The Village (21105) and the Nether (21106) which will be released in September 2013. These new sets have been mysterious rumors up until today. Lego made this announcement from Comic-Con San Diego. If you are attending the Con, make sure to check out these new sets in the Lego booth (#2829).

Lego Minecraft: The Village (21105) is built in the same scale as the original Lego Minecraft set. Featuring four modular pieces that can be rearranged into many different combinations. This new set features a tiny Minecraft village and a place to grow crops. But, underneath this unsuspecting village is a system of underground mines where your villagers can adventure.  This new set comes with three tiny Micromobs, a pig, villager, and zombie. The Minecraft pig is pretty darn cute.

The other new set is the Lego Minecraft: The Nether (21106). It is also built in the same scale as the other Minecraft sets. Meaning that if you have all three of them, you can combine them into a giant playset. The Nether can be accessed through an Obsidian Portal, where your poor adventurer can explore this new biome. The set features, Netherrack, gravel, lava, and bedrock. All essential ingredients for your Minecraft creations. Here you get three Micromob figures, a Zombie Pigman and two Ghasts.

Lego Minecraft The Nether 21106

The original Lego Minecraft (21102) set has been a runnaway success for both Lego and Mojang. Originally offered through the Lego CUUSOO program, the set proved so popular that it has been developed into a full theme. Featuring a modular, and micro scale building style these sets have really expanded upon what most people have expected from Lego.

“LEGO Minecraft is a perfect example of how people’s passions can be amplified when digital and physical interests are combined, and there couldn’t be more synergy between the engine that drives the Minecraft gaming experience and the creative fuel of a LEGO building experience,” said Michelle Wilson, senior brand manager for LEGO Systems, Inc. “We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with Mojang to create new Minecraft characters and environments in LEGO form so that fans can get as creative as they’d like in their physical world as in their digital one.”

“There’s no doubt about the connection between LEGO building and Minecraft — not only the design similarities, but the immense creativity that our fan bases share,” said Lydia Winters, Mojang’s director of fun. “Given how well received the first model was last year, we can’t wait to see what fans think of these new designs.” — Lego

Now is a great time to pick up the original Lego Minecraft (21102), available at Amazon. These sets are extremely popular and if they happen to be sold out, check back at a later date. Lego is constantly releasing more. Each time a new shipment is available, the price is set for the MSRP of $34.99.

Update: Available Now!

These two new Minecraft Lego sets are available now. Check out Amazon.com for the details: Lego Minecraft: Micro World, The Village and Lego Minecraft: Micro World: The Nether.

Lego Minecraft MOCs by Lego Junkie

LegoJunkie's Minecraft Mooshroom

Lego and Minecraft are a perfect match. The blocky pixelated art direction of the video game is relatively easy to mimic in Lego. Most people directly compare the two, saying Minecraft is like a Lego computer game, or that Lego is like Minecraft in real life. The best part is that the love for both properties are equally deserved. Even Lego has recognized this symbiotic relationship and released an official set based on Minecraft (21102). In fact that set was one of the first approved Cuusoo projects, and was closely followed and campaigned for by Notch.

LegoJunkie's Minecraft Seananners

Lego Junkie has created a few Lego MOCs based on Minecraft. These are completely made from standard Lego bricks. All three models show here are roughly in the same scale, and shown what can be achieved with basic building skills. If and when Lego releases more sets, it would great if they made an official set in a large scale.

The Lego Mooshroom was designed for a T-shirt competition, and although it was passed over the model is awesome. It’s not very often you see builds based off of the more obscure characters. The other two builds are persons, Minecraftians, based off of Seananners, and Captainsparklez.
