The Corner Toy Shop – A Modular Lego MOC

This is the local Corner Toy Shop, a Lego MOC built by emo Lego. The store is set in the modular building scale, so it fits in well with that theme. There are a lot of details and mini builds around the building. Some even from other popular Lego sets. The first floor features a wonderful Toy Shop. Full of all kinds of toys and games for Minifigure kids. The design uses the new Lego Dots to add a lot of multi-colored details. Outside you can find a clown enticing children to buy things, and a rocket ship coin-op ride. There is a lot going on with the first floor. There is even an oversized mouth welcoming all into the bowels of fun.

Inside the toy store, you will quickly discover packed store displays and models hung up all around. It seems the store has a Lego promotion, selling multiple Lego sets including the first ever Lego Modular. The Cafe Corner. There is also a display of unique hats, hot new video games, trains, planes, and Spider Man. This is a dense Lego store.

The second floor hides a more adult themed building. A pool hall, and a fully stocked bar. The exterior sign is borrowed from the Detective’s Office Modular Building. You can see an excellent amount of detail has gone into the building as a whole. The upper two floors look like they would fit in completely with the official theme.

Then up a flight of steps you can find a service entrance. Inside is a very popular billiards game. The bar is booming. This interior includes a lot of details and mini-builds that are inspired from the Detective’s Office and The Highlander Bar. Although this bar looks much more popular.

Finn the Human, Finn the Doctor, or is it Finn the Superman?

Lego has created one of the most funny Minifigure heads in their new Lego Dimensions Adventure Time Level Pack. Finn the Human has a goofy smile, and on the back side a derpy smile. Reddit user ColmiYveul realized the potential that this piece had and combined it with other well known Lego Minifigures. As you can see the results are something to remember. Then they quickly put together a small series with Tolkien and Disney Minifigs.

If you want to make your own, the good news is that the Adventure Time Level Pack is new, and still in stock at most retailers. Who knew one piece could has so many uses.

Kill him. Kill him now. – A Lego Star Wars MOC

“Kill him. Kill him now.” A famous line from one of the most memorable scenes from Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Cecilia Fritzvold has faithfully recreated this moment in Lego. There are a lot of great details here, but the most impressive is the background. Full of tiny spaceships battling it out. The forced perspective works extremely well.

“I initially tried to include a larger area of the room in my build, as I wanted to include at least the bottom part of the stairs they walk down, and leave some more space for Obi-Wan, but I had to cut it down a bit as I couldn’t fit it all on 32×32. It was also very important to me from the start to be able to show the battle going on outside with the use of some micro spaceships, so I had to leave some room for those behind the windows.”

Go Outdoors With A Lego 1974 Ford Bronco

Lego Is Ditching Oil-Based Plastics

“Lego’s 57-year-old toy empire was built on plastic. But now the giant Danish toy company is investing millions into getting rid of it. By 2030, Lego bricks will no longer be made from ABS, the oil-based plastic in the 60 billion blocks the company makes each year.”

In terms of materials, plastics is still pretty new. Lego was one of the first companies to popularize the space age material way back in the 1960s. Today Lego is on the quest to improve plastic, by finding a new recipe that will use less oil. The first step in their plans is to open a sustainable materials center in 2016, where over 100 employees will research new materials for the company.

The plastic that Lego currently uses is ABS, which is a nice hard plastic that will last for decades. They also use a much softer, and less satisfying plastic for some pieces. It is always a disappointment when a Lego piece is not cast in ABS. That is why it is so important for the company to make this change properly. And, it’s why they need to invent a whole new material to do it.

The New Lego Ghostbusters Ecto-1 & Ecto-2 – 75828

The upcoming Ghostbusters film is getting its first Lego set. The new Lego Ghostbusters Ecto-1 & Ecto-2 (75828) is ready to go. The set features some awesome new pieces, including more Lego hair. You can never have enough Lego hair. It will be on shelves on July 1st 2016 for $59.99 USD. This puts it at $10 more then the original Lego Ideas set, but you do get 2 additional minifigures. I have a feeling that this set will be right at home in the Firehouse Headquarters.

The set features the Ghostbusters Erin Gilbert, Abby Yates, Jillian Holtzmann, Patty Tolan and Kevin. Plus some sort of red devil.

Lego Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827) Build And Review

Swiss Ghostbusters got their hands on the upcoming Lego Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827) a few weeks early. The new set will be released in January 2016, at $350. They put together an extremely slick build and review video. This thing is huge.

“We are proud to present to you, just four weeks before the official launch, the official “Lego Ghostbusters Firestation Headquarter Set 75827 .” We want to share this joy with you and have made this short video review for you. In it you will see the building process of the set in a timelapse and a small review of the features of the Ghostbusters headquarters.
