This Lego Fabuland Village Has Everything!

This Lego Fabuland Village Has Everything - New Version

Lego had a theme back in 1970s and 1980s called Fabuland. A kids theme that features a village of cute animals. Well over 100 sets were released in those two decades. It was extremely popular in Europe, where they had their own TV show, puzzles, vinyl records, and all sorts of merchandising. There were two defining features of the theme, bright primary colors, and the Fabuland figures (bigger than a Minifigure, but not as big as a Duplo figure). Today, Fabuland is enjoying a long retirement. But, with the release of Animal Crossing on the Nintendo Switch there is new interest in the theme.

This Lego Fabuland Village Has Everything - Old Version

This Lego Fabuland Village is called “Bring back Lego Fabuland” and is created by Lasse Vestergård and Anne Mette. The neat thing about this creation, is that it comes in two parts. They have created a village using modern Lego building techniques and colors, and they have built an exact clone but using techniques and colors used in the original Fabuland sets. A lot of work has gone into making both versions the best possible.

Both villages have the same features. It is like looking into another dimension where everything is the same but different. The main street has cars, motorcycles, and a double decker bus. The town has a large collection of houses, including a windmill and a gas station. Everything is positioned around a crystal clear blue river with a beautiful Paddle Boat (Paddle steamer). There is even an airplane flying over everyone.

Reviving the Fabuland theme would certainly be a hit. The animal villagers all have a lot of personality and Lego made sure that a lot of them have a backstory. Each one is unique and has their own name. The elephants in particular are a favorite.

Nick Wilde Created Out Of Lego

Nick Wilde Created Out Of Lego

This Lego bust of Nick Wilde is the creation of Vlad Lisin. Built as an entry into the Bio-Cup 2020, which challenged the designer to build something Canine themed. In Zootopia Nick is an extremely confidant con-artist who finds himself helping Judy Hopps. This Lego creation has the sly and confidant look down. An interesting detail is how the eyelids are actually Minifigure capes; it is unique and it works wells. A few of the other intersting parts in the creation include a handful of Bionicle parts scattered around, Lego Minifigure arms used in the muzzle / nose and cheeks, and the orange hoses used to give the ears some detail. Even with all the weird pieces this fox is looking good.

Stay Away From The Big Bad Wolf

Stay Away From The Big Bad Wolf, Lego MOC

The Big Bad Wolf gets into many dubious adventures. Often cast as a villain in various fairy tales. The most famous of which is Little Red Riding Hood. This Lego figure is based on the pivotal scene in which the girls faces off with the wolf. The build is created by PaleoBricks and called “The better to eat you with!” The wolf is an entry into the Bio-Cup 2020, a challenge to build something with a “Canine” theme. The Big Bad Wolf is completely made out of Lego and is wearing a sleeping cap and blanket. The figure uses a lot of Bionicle pieces mixed with standard Lego. The end result is surprisingly clean, and looks natural. A few interesting details include the old style Lego Minifigure cape used for a tongue, the Minifigure arms hiding in the ears, and the blades being used for the tail. An overall great detail is the use of the lighter grey color on the chest and jaw.

The Broken Vessel — A Hollow Knight Lego Build

The Broken Vessel — A Hollow Knight Lego Build

Hollow Knight is one of the best video games of the past few years. A super stylish metroidvania taking place in the bug kingdom called Hollownest. The main character starts off on a quest with only their trusty nail. Along the way a whole host of bosses must be defeated, and a few friends will be made in the process. One of those bosses is the Broken Vessel; a shell of a bug that has been taken over by a parasite. This Lego version of the Broken Vessel is created by Aardvark17. Built as an entry into the Bio-Cup 2020, which the challenge is to build something involving Nature and Parasites. The orange parasite parts are well done and look infectious. One of the great details is the bit of the orange leaking through the eyes. Any bug would know to stay away.

A Rocko’s Modern Life Lego Build

A Rocko's Modern Life Lego Build

Everyones favorite animated wallaby has recently returned to earth after being lost in space for over 20 years. Everything seems so different since the 1990s and now Rocko has to adapt to his new modern life. This Lego MOC called “Rocko Rama” is created by Cameron. It is based on the Nickelodeon television show Rocko’s Modern Life. This Lego figure has been built for the 2020 BioCup. The challenge is to build something with the theme of “The Natural World” and “Marsupials.” The end result is completely built out of Lego. That includes the shirt, which was part of the Lego Scala theme. Even the Dodge logo being used for the nose is an official Lego sticker. The designer is really pushing their creativity, especially with the limited part availability in the tan color. You might notice that the hand have fingers built out of Minifigure arms. Maybe someday in the future Lego Rocko can find a Lego Spunky, Heffer, and Filburt to hang out and watch TV with.

A Lego Fender Rhodes And Wurlitzer Electric Piano

A Lego Fender Rhodes And Wurlitzer Electric Piano

Ark Builds has recreated their Music Studio in Lego. The main attraction is the Fender Rhodes and Wurlitzer Electric Pianos. These two pianos are amazingly accurate for the scale they have been built in. The Fender Rhodes Piano features a sleek case, the left side controls, and its folding legs. The Wurlitzer Piano features its center controls, and sheet music holder. Both of these are based on their portable versions. Also included are two studio speakers, a piano bench, foot pedal, microphone, and a potted plant. The rope wrapped around the microphone is an especially nice detail. The feet holding up the plant look great too! This Lego Music Studio would make any person (and Minifigure!) excited to play some music.

Out On A Walk With The Space Buds

Out On A Walk With The Space Buds

Nothing is better than stretching some robot legs and going for a walk. Especially when you are cooped up in a space station all day. This pair of Space Buds is created by bluebrick. Created as an entry into Vignweek 2020, a space themed Lego vignette challenge. These two astronauts are just hanging out in their high tech powered walkers. The walkers are the focus of this Lego MOC, and they are surprisingly detailed. The feet in particular are huge compared to their Minifigure pilots. You would probably have a hard time pushing these over. The legs are topped off with pilot seats. Safety seems to be a priority as each pilot is encased by the walker, they have a heavy duty steering system, and even headrests. The build is finished with a super simple SNOT style base.

The Lego Space Fan — Series 20 Vignette

The Lego Space Fan — Series 20 Vignette

The Space Fan is one of the many characters in Series 20 of the Collectible Minifigures. Her figure comes with a set of blueprints, a model rocket, and a wrench. More than enough accessories to ignite the imagination. This Lego build called “CMF Series 20 Vignette – Space Fan” is created by justin_m_winn. A great 8×8 stud vignette that shows off a corner of the Lego Space Fan’s laboratory and the roof top launch pad. This scene has a few small details that break out of the build. The ladder, the magnifying glass, and the collection of vials. This helps to suggest that the scene is bigger than what is being shown. A couple of other great details include the discarded pizza under the lab shelf, and the Lego ice cream being used for exhaust from the rocket.

90s Batman Villains As Lego Minifigures

Lego Minifigures From Batman and Batman Returns

The 80s and 90s Batman movies are pure entertainment. The Tim Burton films are wonderfully weird and dark, and the later two film perfected the big budget summer movie formula. Alex TheLegoFan has created a whole set of Batman villains as Lego Minifigures. Each film is separated into groups by their base. The Joker from Batman features the slicked back green hair, and purple suit. You can even find some goo from Axis Chemicals on the base. Batman Returns features Catwoman, Max Shriek, The Penguin all hanging out on an ice burg (accompanied by a few penguins from the old zoo).

Lego Minifigures From Batman Forever

Next up from Batman Forever, you can find The Riddler, Two-Face hanging out on a grey/white base. I wonder if they flipped a coin on who would stand where?

Lego Minifigures From Batman and Robin

The last film, Batman and Robin features Minifigures for Mr Freeze, Poison Ivy, and Bane all wrapped up in vines.
