Treat Yourself To A Lego Sundae

Treat Yourself To A Lego Sundae

This Lego Sundae has got it all (of the good toppings!). Three scoops of ice cream, chocolate sauce, and some waffle/pastry sticks all made out of Lego. Whipped cream, cherries, peanuts, and everything else is optional. This Lego Sundae is the creation of Brixe63. It is served in a rather nice glass goblet, and served with a silver spoon. The glass is a great build, using some of the huge transparent pieces recently seen in the Ship In A Bottle set. An especially nice detail is the gold trim on the stem, created with four of the One Ring pieces from the Lord of the Rings sets. So, if you’re having a bad day, celebrating your report card, or just treating yourself make sure order a Sundae.

Lego Guitar Practice At Home

Lego Guitar Practice At Home

Stuck at home? Have some free time? No better time to pick up a new hobby, or learn to play an instrument. This Bedroom Guitarist Lego MOC is the creation of Kev.the.Builder. They were inspired by their own childhood experience of practicing as a kid. The guitar practice scene was built as an entry into the Lego Ideas “Music to Our Ears!” contest. The winners of which will be considered for a Product Idea Review. The build features a lot of SNOT techniques with an excellent parquet patterned floor, trim around the door frame, a striped wall, and bedroom furnishings. Apparently the bed took some extra time to get just right. Which after guitar practice will be a great spot to take a break. The bedroom is an excellent recreation of a kids room, it actually looks lived in. But most importantly the dog and chameleon make for a great audience for the guitar player.

The First Robin Of Spring

The First Robin Of Spring

Spring is here which means plants and animals come out of hinding. This is an American Robin, a migratory bird that goes north in the spring to eat, and flies down south during the winter. This Lego Robin is the creation of Henjin_Quilones. The whole scene is a challenge to build something that only has four studs touching the ground. Lego is impressively strong, but the whole system works best with baseplates. This Lego MOC goes one stud further, and only has three studs holding everything up. The branch is designed as the main support. The early blooms are a nice detail, and if you look closely is there are even Minifigure legs hidden in the bark. The nest is a great combination of various brown Lego pieces. You can find blades, vines, horns, whips, and oars all tangled up. The star of the show is the Robin. The coloring is spot on to the real life inspiration. The beautiful wingspan has been replicated well too. Check out the curve achieved with the feathers, created with angles and half stud connections. The Robin is being held up by one branch all the way in the back, a great way to create the illusion of flying.

Bite Into This Lego Burger And Fries

Bite Into This Lego Burger And Fries

A good burger and fries can really hit the spot. The warm and salty food goes well with a cold soda. This Lego MOC called “Burger and Fries” is the creation of Joe. The scene features the popular fast food meal, but there is a twist. A lot of the details are created with Lego Minifigure legs/pants. This new challenge to build stuff out of legs is interesting. Here, the legs are being used as the straw in the soda, part of the french fries, lettuce on the burger, and the hamburger patty itself. It is a great example of getting creative with limited pieces. The tomatoes and the soda cup lid are two other great details. The whole scene is sitting on top a a wooden plank which looks great. The contrast of which, helps us focus on the food. But, if we were to eat this meal, we might want plates next time.

The LL-527 Falchion Starfighter

The LL-527 Falchion Starfighter, Lego MOC

This is the LL-526 Falchion Lego Starfighter, created by Mansur Soeleman. The starship comes with a short backstory. The prototype attack craft has implemented stolen Blacktron stealth tech. The unfinished style of this starfighter helps to make it look unique. The Lego MOC has an incredible amount of greebles, right up there with a Star Destroyer. The nose cannon works well and the connections with the Lego steering wheel look smooth. The cylinders are echoed throughout this design. From the nose to the engines. In the end the starfighter looks like the pilot is strapped into a giant jet engine, not sure if it is stealthy but it does look fast.

Zoom Around On This Life-Sized Lego Go-Kart

Zoom Around On This Life-Sized Lego Go-Kart, Mantis Hacks

Sometimes you get a crazy idea and just happen to have the rights tools to make that idea a reality. Over at Mantis Hacks they started with the idea to recreate a Technic Go-Kart model at five times the normal scale. The end result was huge but still not large enough for a human to use. For round two they made a few modifications and increased the scale to 8.34. After a lot of 3D printing (3 different printers!) and a lot of patience the Lego model was ready to go. A little bit of help with some glue and a few steel pieces the finished Go-Kart looks great. All the bits and pieces fit together, steering works, and the wheels turn. With a few planned modifications the Lego Go-Kart will eventually get an electric motor.

Animal Crossing New Horizons Lego MOC

Animal Crossing New Horizons House Lego MOC

The video game Animal Crossing New Horizons has proven to be a popular theme for building with Lego. You start the game on a supposedly deserted island, but soon find yourself being the architect to a thriving community of animals. After upgrading your meager tent into a one room house, your goal is to slowly improve the island. Your main tool is a handy workbench where you can craft hundreds of items. From campfires to bamboo dolls. This Lego MOC is called “Animal Crossing: New Horizons Paradise” and is the creation of Tiago Catarino. They capture all the core features of the island in this scene. A fresh water river, beech (with shells!), apple tree, workbench, campfire, and a house. This build looks great. The house is nice and compact, and uses a really interesting off grid technique to angle the walls. The workbench even has a little Lego Carpenter Square. The scale works well, and seems like it could fit Fabuland figures pretty well.

I Have Lived A Thousand Lives — Lego MOC

I Have Lived A Thousand Lives — Lego MOC

Brick Ninja has created a Lego MOC based on a quote by George R.R. Martin: “I have lived a thousand lives and I have loved a thousand loves. I’ve walked on distant worlds and seen the end of time. Because I read.” This Lego MOC is the physical representation of reading a book. It can transport the reader to an imaginary location full of new ideas and impossible situations. That is why we like to read. In this creation the greeking of the text has been done well. Representing words, without actually having to find a way to make them in Lego. The castle is well made with a great SNOT design. It is very reminiscent of old castle sets from Lego.

Explore These Custom Uncharted 4 Lego Minifigures

Explore These Custom Uncharted 4 Lego Minifigures

Uncharted is one of the best video games series on the Playstation. The treasure hunting brothers, the Drakes, get wrapped up in a crazy plot to find the pirate Henry Avery’s treasure. Which eventually involves many other pirates, and a whole host of bad guys. These custom Lego Minifigures based on Uncharted 4 are the creation of RagingPhotography. The group includes all the main heros: Victor Sullivan, Samual Drake, Nathan Drake, and Elena Fisher. Each Minifig is made with official Lego pieces, which the creator has provided a list for. All of the characters feature custom paint work on their torsos. A little bit of blood and dirt has been added too. Hopefully they can find Avery’s treasure, get some rest, and retire from their surprisingly dangerous jobs.

Get Your Feet Wet At The Beach

Get Your Feet Wet At The Beach

It’s time to get your feet wet and catch a wave. Just be careful, you never know what lurks below. This Lego MOC is the creation of MadLEGOman. At first glance this is a great scene of a Minifigure Surfer at the beech, and the hidden world below the waves. But the build has a huge secret. Almost all of the scenery is built out of Minifigure Legs. Both the cresting wave, and the sandy ocean floor are completely made out of legs. Even one of the deadly sharks is eating some legs (from a poor diver). The way the water legs shift and change color, working in white and dark blue pants is a great illusion. Another great use of all these legs, is with the sandy floor. Some of the legs are sticking up to support the sharks and plants. The builder has challenged everyone to count how many legs there are, and even hints that there are two answers to this question.
