The Post Apocalypse In Reno. The Gate Of Nevada 2075 Lego MOC.

Welcome to Reno, the biggest little city in the world. In the post apocalypse a pair of survivors have found refuge in Nevada. Their current shelter is a ruined airplane that they found in the high desert. This Lego vignette is called “The Gate Of Nevada: 2075” and is created by Mr.MOCsProductions. Built as an entry into the Vignweek 2020 challenge. The specifice theme for this entry is: post apocalyptic. The crashed biplane is a great build. It is emerging from the sandy soil. The plane has a lot of detail especially in the wings. The support structure is a complicated system of bars and clips; the end result looks great. There are also a few rubber bands being used to look like some minor repairs have been done. The two Minifigures look appropriatly end-of-the-worldish. They both come equipped with custom guns. The flags hanging from the telephone pole look great, which is helped by a few custom printed flags. The biggest feature of the vignette is the Reno sign. It has an appropriatly retro look to it, created by using some of the new Lego Dots bricks. Hopefully the nuclear fallout has passed, otherwise the future is going to get a lot harder for these two.

Rub-A-Dub-Dub Two Men In A Tub

Two men in a tub (does the monkey count as three?) sailing the high seas. What kind of trouble will they get into? This Lego MOC is called “Shark Attack!” and is created by DarthBricks. Built as an entry into Vignweek, the challenge this time is to create a classic pirate themed vignette. There are some really neat ideas in this scene. The shark fins being created out of Axe heads is great, you can see that they are attached to the base by being wedged into a little lever base. That simple blue base has just enough detail to be recognizable as water. The layer of transparent 1×2 and 1×1 bricks helps. These two pirates look like they might be in danger. They better throw away their fish before they become food.

The Lego Neko-Robo Companion

This Neko-Robo Companion is a Lego robot built by Jack Frost. Programmed with over 500 emotional responses you will never be lonely again. The robot is an entry into the Bio-Cup 2020 challenge. The companion has a few interesting features including a television for a head, and what looks like a microphone for a tail. In terms of a Lego creation make sure to check out some of the inventive part usage. The Lego shock-absorbers can be found being used as feet, a few springs add some detail to the mechanics, the flower used for decoration, and a pair of Lego tires used for wrists. The figure features a good amount of articulated joints, which means that it can be posed in many different ways. Although with such small feet, it might be hard to find a good balance.

Nick Wilde Created Out Of Lego

This Lego bust of Nick Wilde is the creation of Vlad Lisin. Built as an entry into the Bio-Cup 2020, which challenged the designer to build something Canine themed. In Zootopia Nick is an extremely confidant con-artist who finds himself helping Judy Hopps. This Lego creation has the sly and confidant look down. An interesting detail is how the eyelids are actually Minifigure capes; it is unique and it works wells. A few of the other intersting parts in the creation include a handful of Bionicle parts scattered around, Lego Minifigure arms used in the muzzle / nose and cheeks, and the orange hoses used to give the ears some detail. Even with all the weird pieces this fox is looking good.

The Broken Vessel — A Hollow Knight Lego Build

Hollow Knight is one of the best video games of the past few years. A super stylish metroidvania taking place in the bug kingdom called Hollownest. The main character starts off on a quest with only their trusty nail. Along the way a whole host of bosses must be defeated, and a few friends will be made in the process. One of those bosses is the Broken Vessel; a shell of a bug that has been taken over by a parasite. This Lego version of the Broken Vessel is created by Aardvark17. Built as an entry into the Bio-Cup 2020, which the challenge is to build something involving Nature and Parasites. The orange parasite parts are well done and look infectious. One of the great details is the bit of the orange leaking through the eyes. Any bug would know to stay away.

A Rocko’s Modern Life Lego Build

Everyones favorite animated wallaby has recently returned to earth after being lost in space for over 20 years. Everything seems so different since the 1990s and now Rocko has to adapt to his new modern life. This Lego MOC called “Rocko Rama” is created by Cameron. It is based on the Nickelodeon television show Rocko’s Modern Life. This Lego figure has been built for the 2020 BioCup. The challenge is to build something with the theme of “The Natural World” and “Marsupials.” The end result is completely built out of Lego. That includes the shirt, which was part of the Lego Scala theme. Even the Dodge logo being used for the nose is an official Lego sticker. The designer is really pushing their creativity, especially with the limited part availability in the tan color. You might notice that the hand have fingers built out of Minifigure arms. Maybe someday in the future Lego Rocko can find a Lego Spunky, Heffer, and Filburt to hang out and watch TV with.

Count Dooku’s Castle Lego Build

In Star Wars, Count Dooku (or Darth Tyranus) is a major character in Episodes II and III. You know Dooku is an important person, he has palace and a castle. The palace has been a setting for multiple Clone Wars episodes but the relatively obscure castle has mainly been featured in the comic books. This Lego version of Count Dooku’s Castle is created by soccerkid6. Built as an entry into Vignweek, a vignette building challenge. The scene features a towering castle set against the landscape of Kohlma, the Moon of Dread. A micro build of Slave I can be found flying over the rocky landscape. The tall spires and domes fit perfectly in the Star Wars venacular. A lot of the circular spires are built up with Lego wheel rim pieces. A great way to vary the patterns and appearance of the castle.

Lets Cook! — A Breaking Bad Lego Build

“Lets Cook” is a Breaking Bad themed Lego MOC created by Mr.MOCsProductions. This scene was built as an entry into RebelLUG’s Vignweek contest. The idea was to build someones lair, and there is no better location in Breaking Bad than the RV. This retro styled RV is a great build. Especially the overall shape. The gentle slope of the front end is perfect. Note all the work done to seamlessly blend the slope into the rest of the square vehicle. The Lego wrench used for the door is another great detail. Two little chairs and a desert themed base finish the scene. The cactuses are well built, mostly made up of 1×2 plates. Finally the tan, and brown bricks simulate the desert outside New Mexico well.

A Baby Elephant — Lego Polybag Creation

This cute little Lego Elephant is created by Johan Hendrix. These tiny builds are always a lot of fun. It is all about the challenge of creating something recognizable with such few parts. The Baby Elephant is built for the Polybag Competition hosted by Brickset. The goal is to create something that could be sold as a Lego Polybag. Those small plastic bags sold near cash registers in stores. The Elephant comes in at just 29 pieces. The good news is that if you want to build your own, it won’t take much to find all the pieces. The expressive eyes gives a lot of personality to the Lego. And, the use of an elbow tube is an inspired choice for a trunk.

The Great Grey Owl Lego MOC

The Great Grey Owl is the largest type of owl on Earth. Their round face and bright yellow eyes are exactly what most people think of when they imagine an owl. It can be found across North America, Europe, and Asia. They love living in forests and along meadows and swamps. These grand birds have many names some of which include the bearded owl, cinereous owl, spectral owl, sooty owl, and the phantom of the north. This Lego version of a Great Grey Owl is created by Eero Okkonen. Built as an entry into the LUG Palikkatakomo animal contest, which was scheduled to be held at HupiCon (which was recently reconfigured for a home audience). This Lego MOC ended up taking home the 1st place prize, and the 2nd place audience prize. Which is absolutely deserves! This creation is instantly recognizable, it has the round face, yellow eyes, and giant wing span. The face is made up of a few giant Lego dishes, and outlined with Lego chain links. The end result is a bit cartoony, but that works in its favor. It kinda reminds me of the Kaepora Gaebora, an owl from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
