The Lich King Raised a Lego Sindragosa (World of Warcraft)

Sindragosa is an undead dragon raised by the Lich King from an icy grave in Icecrown. Instantly creating one of the most iconic dragons in the video game World of Warcraft. This Lego Sindragosa is the creation of Bangoo H. Will the Queen of the Frostbrood achieve revenge? Will Lego Adventurers, Tirion Fording and Darion Mograine be able to stop her in time?

Sindragosa is an impressive Lego model. Built almost to the Minifigure scale, this dragon is ready to destroy any challengers. A Lego dragon is a difficult creature to build, but an undead dragon is near impossible. The impression of a skeleton is achieved with a careful selection of grey Lego pieces and various hinges. The internal skeleton relies on Technic pieces for strength without adding too much bulk. The whole thing is finished with a massive wingspan.

An Awesome Lego Gaming Room

Check out this awesome Lego gaming room, created by Alex Nídhögg. This gaming room features everything you need. Pizza, Pepsi, surround sound, a flat screen TV, a life size Stormtrooper, a Gameboy, a Squishee, and even the most important item: a credit card. This Lego Minifigure is ready to spend days here. There are so many new video games to play. Call of Duty, Dragon Age Inquisition, Assassin’s Creed, Grand Theft Auto V, Farcry 4, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, etc. Too bad there is just not enough time to play them all.

Lego Assassin’s Creed Rouge: Shay Patrick Cormack Minifigure

Assassin’s Creed is out with a new video game. Titled Assassin’s Creed Rouge, it is a duel release with Assassin’s Creed Unity. This has to be one of the most confusing video game release schedules of all time. Although Unity is getting more press, it seems the smaller title Rouge is getting better a fan reception. Logan Fulford has created an extremely detailed custom Minifigure based on the games protagonist, Shay Patrick Cormack. This little Lego guy features custom sculpting and custom painting to achieve its look. The paint work is well done, especially when you consider the fact that this is only 4cm tall. Hopefully we will see more Lego Assassin’s Creed stuff in the future, it seems like a theme that has a lot of overlap with Lego fans.

Lego Arcade Machines and Player 1

Ready your plastic Lego coins. A new arcade is about to open. Joshua Drake has created a whole series of Lego Arcade Machines. These video game machines have been sized to fit the Lego Technic Figures. These figures were featured in some of the Technic sets between 1986 and 2001. Their taller stature is a perfect match. If you look closely enough you can see that the hands line up perfectly with the arcade joystick and buttons. These are not the clean cabinets made today, these arcade machines are dirty, with some scuff marks and scrapes applied to the Lego pieces. Even the studs-on-top design help the cabinets achieve their 1980s retro look.

Lego Minecraft, The Cave (21113) Parts & Set Review

The new Lego Minecraft sets are almost here, and a bunch of early reviews are showing up. The sets look fun and are somewhat accurate to the video game. But, do they bring anything new to the crafting table? Thanks to New Elementary we know the answer is yes! New Elementary specializes in writing about new and exciting Lego pieces or elements. Their new review of Lego Minecraft (2113) The Cave goes into everything new about the set. They theorize that: “If these Minecraft sets ever go on offer they will disappear before you can say scalper.”

The most obvious of the new pieces all revolve around the Minifigures. In The Cave, you get new square Minecraft themed heads for Steve, the Creeper, and the Spider. For some people the new design is extremely weird, but it is pointed out that the standard round Minifigure head is weird too (when you think about it). Most people will get used to it over time.

The most exciting thing about The Cave, according to New Elementary, is a single new Lego piece. A Black Pneumatic T-Bar (6102782, 4697). For many years now this piece has only been available in gray. The new color allows the piece to be used in many more builds, and will blend in much better in most situations. For some people the price of this set will be worth it just for these 3 T-Bars.

Lego Minecraft 2015 Unboxing, Review, and Building Videos

Lego seems to be doing something a little different this time around. With their new Lego Minecraft 2015 (Minifigure Scale) theme they have been releasing sets early to the fan community for reviews. That is completely normal. What is different is that instead of the usual sites getting the exclusive reviews (which normally focus on the AFOL scene), Lego has sent sets out to sites that target to a younger crowd, and famous Minecraft fans. It seems that Lego understands there are two completely different markets for Lego Minecraft. What is also cool, is that these lucky people are creating really slick video reviews. Here we have EvanTubeHD reviewing most of the upcoming Lego Minecraft 2015 sets. It seems that The Ender Dragon (21117) and The Cave (21113) are still pending review. These sets look a lot bigger when they are finished then expected. I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more Minecraft stuff from Lego in the future…

Lego Civilization: Beyond Earth, Worker Mech Unit

Lego Ideas (CUUSOO) has been a huge success for Lego. Most of the proposed projects involve established properties that need to be licensed in order to release them. The program has been so popular that a few of the projects have even been supported by companies who would like to see their properties licensed through Lego. For instance, Lego Minecraft. It is super rare that a company actually supports and even submits their own projects into Lego Ideas. Here is an example of such a project.

Firaxis Games has submitted a Lego Ideas project based on their Civilization series of video games. The set would include a Worker Mech based on the Civilization: Beyond Earth unit. The mech would be accompanied by a worker, a minifigure with options to be either male or female. The designer, AndrewClark2, built 180 of these sets as a studio gift on the release of the game. Since this has been produced (although not officially) a set of instructions have been drafted. The whole build only uses 187 Lego pieces. Even if this never makes it through the Lego Ideas process, it is an extremely nice gesture from AndrewClark2 and Firaxis Games to share.

“When human beings settle alien planets, they’re going to need to build farms, quarries, paddocks for alien wildlife, habitation domes, and generators. Who gets to do all that hard work? The Worker unit! Designed by concept artist Mike Bazzell, the worker unit in Civilization: Beyond Earth will change equipment depending on its current job. This model is based on the front end loader, used to build quarries and mines. This Worker is ready to tackle any world, from harsh arid planets to miasma-laden fungal planets.”

A Lego Playstation 2 Microbuild

The original Playstation 2 was a monster of a game system. It managed to be heavy, somewhat fragile, expensive accessories, and difficult to find (at least at launch). The good news is that now you can recreate this legendary system with only 6 Lego bricks, at a cost of around (60¢). Sure it cannot play Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid 2, or Grand Theft Auto but it also doesn’t cost $299. Kelseybuildslego created this Lego Playstation 2 Microbuild with an almost perfect eye for minimalism. The double clip Lego piece will now forever be a PS2 controller in my mind. The single detail that makes this whole thing work is the two blue Lego wedges representing the vertical stand. Well done.

Shoot ‘n Loot with this Lego Claptrap from Borderlands

Are you waiting for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel to download? Excited to butt stomp the moon, and bound through low gravity? Ready to hear Handsome Jack’s side of the story? Then you should be just as excited about these Lego Claptrap units created by Jerac. These three robots showcase some extremely impressive Lego skills. Check out how those arms are created, with a combination of levers and technic pins. And, admire the subtle sloping geometry. It is a wonder that it is all held together. One thing is certain, these Claptraps are dangerously fragile (physically and mentally).

New Lego Minecraft 2015, Minifigure Scale Sets

The Lego Minecraft theme has been one of the most successful lines. The first few Micro World sets capture the spirit and look of the super popular video game, but the tiny Lego pieces and small size were deterrents to the smallest Lego Minecraft fans (and people with large fingers). The good news is the there is a whole new theme for Lego Minecraft coming in 2015. There will be 6 sets in this release, including a super interesting Crafting Box. This new style of playset reminds me of the more imagination friendly Brick Boxes. This is a really interesting direction to explore, and it will more then likely prove to be very popular.

The Farm (21114)

Yield renewable resources with The Farm! You’ll need food to survive, so fence in the livestock and channel the flowing water to nurture the crops. Harvest pumpkins, wheat, sugar cane and carrots. Use the crafting table to create a pumpkin helmet or jack-o-lantern. But watch out for the skeleton with his bow and arrow after nightfall! Rebuild the set for more LEGO Minecraft creations or combine with 21115 The First Night and other sets in the series for an even bigger Minecraft adventure! Includes a Steve minifigure with an accessory, plus a skeleton, cow and a sheep.
