Spyro The Dragon Lego Build

The Spyro the Dragon video game was first released in 1998 on the Playstation. One of the best platformers of that generation, and often found on demo discs. Recently Spyro has seen a resurgence in popularity with the remake of original trilogy of games called Spyro Reignited. The little purple dragon is unbelievably cute. This Spyro the Dragon Lego build is created by Marin Stipkovic. Usually a Lego model has to be less detailed than its inspiration. But in this case, the model is more detailed and less blocky than the Playstation original. Spyro has a full range of motion, with fully posable feet, wings, mouth, and tail. The horns being built with Technic pieces is a great solution, and the brick built wings look great.

This Lego Espeon Is Extremely Loyal To Its Trainer

“By reading air currents, it can predict things such as the weather or its foe’s next move.”

Espeon is one of the many evolved forms of Eevee, one of the most popular Pokémon. If you give Eevee a Sun Shard it will evolve into this psychic form. The defining features are its purple fur, red gem, and forked tail. All of which are perfectly represented by this Lego Espeon made by retinence. The overall shape is what really makes it stand out. The gentle curves and angles make for a striking silhouette. Also the light purple pieces really help make it stand out.

My name is (Lego) Catbug! What’s yours?

In celebration of the season 3 premiere of Bravest Warriors Ian Heath has created a Lego Catbug. Even better then that, he posted some easy to follow instructions to build your own. If you don’t have all the correct colors (purple) you can just swap for another. Now we just need a Lego Invisible Hideout.

More Details About That Charming Lego Friends: Lovely Hotel

The Lego Friends: Lovely Hotel is extremely charming and popular. This Lego MOC is amazingly difficult to find, but a few more photos of this modular hotel have surfaced. The Lovely Hotel made its first appearance at the Fujiyama Lego Camp ’12. This pink and purple Cafe Corner mod was displayed between the other town and train creations. This is a total conversion of the famous Cafe Corner (10182), replacing everything with Friends inspired details. This creation would fit in perfectly in any Heartlake City display, and would be at home in a Modular Building layout.

When entering the Hotels front entrance an Ice Cream parlor can be found on the first floor. Here the Lego Friends can chill out and watch the coming and goings of the crowded streets outside. The entrance into the building can be found on the right side of the building. The first two rooms occupy the second floor, accessible from the narrow staircase. Each room features a stylish bed, and vanity. On the top floor is the penthouse suite. This room is jam packed with a full bathroom, bed, vanity, telephone, chandelier, and even custom curtains.

Lego Lowrider, Flamingo Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

It looks like the Lego Friends have a new ride, or maybe Homer Simpson upgraded the sedan. Either way this Lego Lowrider is awesome. Alex Jones (Orion Pax) created this MOC titled the “Flamingo Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.” It is always interesting to see what people can do with Lego pieces, especially those that have a limited color palette. It features a tri-tone paint job (hot pink, pink and purple), with chrome accents and whitewall tires. The car has hot pink wood paneling and the windshield is even transparent pink. This Oldsmobile has style.

Lego Friends Corner, A Downtown Bakery and Pastry Shop

What happens when you combine the Lego Friends Downtown Bakery (41006) with the famous Lego Cafe Corner (10182)? You get a Lego Friends Corner. The ground floor hosts an extremely popular bakery and pastry shop. Up to the second floor is a hip pet hair salon, where all the super cute dogs and cats go to get groomed. Then on to the rooftop is an outdoor area and garden for your pets. Which includes a tiny birdhouse, a dog bath, water fountain, and a peaceful garden. This modular style building also includes bicycle parking and a large outdoor patio.

The Corner proves to be so popular that a few special guests are visiting, and enjoying their bakery treats. Including Iron Man!

The Aquilax Fleet – A Lego Micro Space Project

Purple is an extremely unfamiliar color for most Lego builders. In the past Lego has associated purple with Lego Friends or other girl-targeted themes. But, purple is on the rise. A lot of the Super Heroes sets feature a good amount of purple, and the color is popping up in small amounts everywhere. The popularity of Lego Friends also means that it easy to acquire a lot of purple bricks quickly. Tim Goddard decided to create a whole Lego Space fleet in micro scale using purple. This collection of spaceships is known as the Aquilax Fleet. Featuring a Destroyer, Frigate, Flagship and a few smaller starfighters. The gold accents and white base color contrast with the purple perfectly. Creating very clean, but almost alien looking starships. By restricting the part selection, and focusing on a micro-build, the designer has forced themselves to get creating with the Lego pieces.

Tim Goddard has also put out a call for other Lego builders to contribute to a Micro-/Nano-Space Fly-In. Lego Star Wars And Lego Friends Crossover, Hothlake City

Hothlake City is a Lego Star Wars and Lego Friends crossover. Created by Tyler Sky and Frances Sky. It just so happens that this is not their only Lego Friends and Star Wars themed MOC; they also created the AT-AT Cleaning Station. The idea is to create something that appeals to both boys and girls, without being boring or dumbed down. The end result is a smashing success, as they have won the “Medium Planetary Structure” award at BrickCon 2014. The AT-AT is based on the official Lego AT-AT (75054) but has received an extensive paint job. These new Lego Friends mash-ups are very popular.

Lego Friends Working At A Star Wars AT-AT Cleaning Station

It was only a matter of time before we started to see Lego Friends and Lego Star Wars crossovers. Both of these contrasting themes go together much better then one would think. In fact most of the Lego Friends crossovers seem to go over well. Check out the Lovely Hotel, or the Paradisa Viper. The AT-AT Cleaning Station is the work of Tyler Sky. It is a huge display, and instantly grabs your attention. Everything you would expect is here, Tauntauns, a Snowspeeder, an AT-AT, Emma, Andrea, and even a defense turret. The only thing not present is snow.

“Meanwhile just outside the limits of Hothlake city, a repurposed AT-AT (now used as a pet taxi service) is getting a much needed weekly cleaning.

Keeping this mechanical marvel in top condition is no small feat, requiring the assistance of many helpers including a pair of drones, a couple of Tauntauns, and many friends. A repurposed turret installation helps to get water up to those hard to reach spots!

This AT-AT Cleaning Station recently made an appearance in a display window at the Vancouver Lego Store (November 2014). If you are quick enough, maybe you can see it too. Tyler Sky works on a lot of Lego Friends themed stuff, so keep an eye out for more featured displays.

New Lego Friends Sets – 2014

A whole lot of new Lego sets have been revealed. Including seven new Lego Friends sets for 2014. Between these, and the new Disney Princess theme, the Lego Friends section is going to very popular next year. Besides these, there will be a variety of smaller sets that have not be announced yet. The main theme for this release seems to be focusing on outdoor activities.

Lego Friends Sunshine Harvest (41026) features a variety of farming stuff, including a tractor, garden, orchard tree, and roadside stand. Plus a cute dog.

Lego Friends Mia’s Lemonade Stand (41027) features one of those new Lego scooters, and an elaborate lemonade stand, which seems to take $100 bills. Lemonade sure is profitable in the Lego universe.

Lego Friends Emma’s Lifeguard Post (41028) features a lifeguard tower, and a cute dolphin.

Lego Friends Stephanie’s New Born Lamb (41029) features a tiny lamb, and a shearing shed. It looks like Stephanie and her lamb have won a few awards.

Lego Friends Heartlake Juice Bar (41035) is a pretty large juice bar, which has purple cherries, and pineapples.

Lego Friends Stephanie’s Beach House (41037) is a lovely yellow house. It comes with a wind glider, and what looks like a smartphone dock.

Lego Friends Sunshine Ranch (41039) is the mega set for the release. This ranch includes a pink barn and comes with a variety of horses, cats, chickens, and other animals.

These new Lego Friends sets will be released in 2014, and it looks like they will be out in the spring or summer. The new Lego Disney Princess theme is also being released soon, so keep an eye out.
