The Carbon Freeze Chamber – Lego Star Wars

In Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Han Solo finds himself in some trouble while on Cloud City. Lego has released an official set (75137) based on this exact moment back in 2016. If you imagine what a much more elaborate version of that set would be, than you would get this Lego MOC. The Carbon Freeze Chamber is the creation of I Scream Clone. A huge build, with fancy LED lighting that really helps to set the mood. The design is built around a giant decagon that uses a lot of 1×2 flat Lego grills. This allows the light to shine up through the structure, which is accurate to the film version. Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Lando Calrissian, Princess Leia, Chewbacca and C3p0 are all in attendance. Along with a whole host of Stormtroopers and other onlookers. A few of the many great details includes Chewy carrying C3P0’s broken remains, the various tubes and tanks around the room, and the maintenance workers down below. The center of the machine can even lower and raise as Han Solo gets frozen.

Darth Vader Hallway Battle – Lego Star Wars

Darth Vader made a huge impression back in Star Wars: A New Hope, leading an assault against the Tantive IV. The Rebels try to mount a defense and protect Princess Leia, but they are no match against the Empire. This opening scene is so iconic, it makes a reappearance almost 40 years later in Rogue One. This Hallway Battle Lego MOC is created by CozzD. The interior hallway walls look great when lit from above by bright white lights. The iconic doorway has been recreated here too, and includes one well placed sticker. The Rebels look ready to defend it to the end, but as you can see below it doesn’t go well for them.

Fly Me To The Lego Moon

This Lego “Astronaut” is a creation of R 194. A mouse seems to have found itself on the moon in this comical Lego MOC. The mouse is outfitted an a very bulky spacesuit, with a giant air tank on the back, and room for its ears on top. It looks like the way into the suit is by the giant valve on the top. The Lego moon that the astronaut has found itself sitting on is an anthropomorphized crescent. The yellow frog on the tip of the moon is a fun detail. While the mouse looks like it is trying to find a way to eat a chunk of moon cheese. And, I like to think the viynl record on the back of the spacesuit is a copy of Fly Me To The Moon.

Boom Goes The Lego Tiny Tank

This Lego Tiny Tank is rolling its way to victory. The little tank is built by Tyler. Another Iron Builders build, these have all been trying to use Minifigure Legs / Pants in new and unique ways. You might be able to spy a lot of legs in the tank treads (or is it called a continuous track?). This cartoon’ed version of a tank features a giant top mounted machine gun, and a huge main gun. Presumably firing something a little less deadly. Besides the armaments, a few details to check out include the Nexo Knight shield used as an insignia, and the little diesel fuel exhaust pipe in the back.

A Mid-Century Modern Lego Desk

Lego is surprisingly well suited for designing modern furniture and architecture. The geometric and blocky designs match up with Lego bricks. Especially if you use SNOT techniques. With no studs, a Lego build can look photorealistic. This mid-century modern desk is the creation of Heikki M who has built a lot of modern designs. In this build the contrast between the white, brown, and black details really makes it stand out. The added modern artwork on top of the desk is built with a few colorful 1×2 Lego Grills. You can also find a gold plate being used as the base of the table lamp. The white wall and white floor is a simple background, but the added baseboard is a great touch.

Jump Through Some Portals With This Lego Rick And Morty

Grab your portal gun and run. In Rick and Morty it is revealed that there are infinite worlds that also have alternate dimensional versions of Rick and Morty. As told in the episode “Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind.” This Lego MOC of Rick and Morty is the work of MadLEGOman. There must be a dimension out there where everyone and everything is made out of Lego. And their Rick and Morty might just look like these two. The two Lego figures are fully articulated, and can hold many poses. Morty is is made out of submarine propeller housing pieces, and has Minifigure legs for fingers. Rick has a brick built lab jacket and comes with a portal gun. One thing that is easy to overlook is that these figures are a lot taller than at first glance. Ricks head alone is about the size of a fist. These two are ready for some weird adventures.

The Deadly Dragon Knight Is Ready To Duel

This is the Lego MOC called “The Fearsome Dragon Knight” which is created by Thomas Jenkins. It is another entry into the latest Iron Builders challenge (there sure are a lot of these!) which is where you try to implement Minifigure legs in unique ways. Here you can see a whole bunch of them if you look carefully. The shield is ringed in legs, the chest armor is made up of legs, the tan underside of the Knight is made of legs as are its nose, ears, and toes! There are probably a lot more hidden too. Some other fun stuff included the giant sword topped off with one of the new Nexo knights shields, and the yellow lever base pieces being used for reptile eyes. This Dragon Knight looks deadly, and would make a formable boss for a group of adventurers.

The Hanging Gardens, A Lego Wonder

One of the seven wonders of the world. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon are named after the ancient city they were built in. They were also known as the Hanging Gardens of Semiramis which is named after the Queen who had them built. This lush garden was built on a sort of ziggurat, with water flowing down each level. Pumping the water up to the top was achieved by a system of giant screws, known as Archimedes Screws. This Lego version, called “the Hanging Gardens of Semiramis,” is built by Simon Hundsbichler. The gardens were built for three different challenges: the Style it-up challenge (no exposed studs), the Iron Builders challenge (use Minifigure legs/pants), and the Switch My Lantern Up challenge (use a lantern). There is a lot going on here. If you look as some of the details you might notice: stairs built out of stacked tan window inserts, Minifigure legs both short and normal representing columns and even water, green Minifigure hair as a tree, blue Minifigure hands as water detail, and tan Minifigure side bags (satchels) as stairs. This plastic garden is almost as wondrous as the original.

Chapter 1: A Long-Expected Party, A Lego LOTR Series

Micah Schmidt is back with a new entry in their The Lord of the Rings Lego Series. They have set upon a long journey of recreating the famous trilogy with Lego MOCs, one chapter at a time. This build is titled “Chapter 1: A Long-Expected Party” and features Gandalf rolling into the Shire with a bunch of fireworks. On a short hillside, Frodo is there to greet him. This is an interesting build, as Lego released an official set based on this exact moment all the way back in 2012. This version is an upgraded and much more detailed build. Some of the stand out details include the horse bridle (created with some Lego grippy ropes, and a rubber band), the wagon (using Lego whips as wooden detailing), the super smooth autumn tree, and Gandalf’s sword Glamdring. Hopefully Gandalf can make it to Bag End in time, there is about to be a birthday party that no one will ever forget.

Add Heat And Magic To Bread, And You Get Lego Toast

To make Lego toast you just need to add some heat and magic to bread. Or, you can pull your Minifigure legs apart, whichever is easier. This Lego MOC is created by Ted Andes and is titled “Boom! Toasted!” The little scene was built for the latest Iron Builders challenge, which has been extremely popular in the last few days. The goal is to use Minifigure legs / pants in unexpected ways. This scene features a classic toaster doing what it does best, making Lego toast. The light tan Minifigure legs represent a loaf of bread surprisingly well, and the detail of the toasted bread turning into dark tan Minifigure legs is perfect. The only thing missing is a stick of butter.
