“Win and live. Lose and die. Rule of life.” — Prehistorica, Lego MOCs by Steven Woolfe
“The balance in a hidden valley is brutally disturbed when a the peaceful Stonetooth tribe and and their herbivorous dinosaurs are confronted by the sudden arrival of the rival Ashclaw tribe and their carnivorous pet predators. Can the fierce Stonetooth warrior women protect their valley – and the precious dinosaur eggs within – against these vicious intruders? Or will the dangers of the outside world prove to great a challenge?
Growing up with Saturday morning cartoons like Dino-Riders and a vast interest in prehistoric lifeforms, I decided to create several sets featuring an alternate time when dinosaurs and humans lived together somewhat harmonically. As with my Space Exploration sets, I aimed these sets primarily at girls, although with a much more distinct action adventure feel to it.” — Steven Woolfe
Prehistorica is a great MOC theme created by Steven Woolfe. The concept of Dinos and Humans living together is a universal fantasy. These warrior women are ready go to battle to protect their tribe. This conflict between the Stonetooth and Ashclaw looks like the beginning of something larger.
The use of the Lego dinosaur figures is infinitely more interesting then the official Dino theme. The structures built around the dinosaurs look completely natural. Giving these warriors a look that is both frightening and deadly.

The Lego House (4000010) Special Edition Review by CopMike
Lego has a super rare set out now called The Lego House (4000010) Special Edition. The set is designed to fit in with the Architecture theme, but is not officially a part of it. What makes this a Special Edition is that it is only sold in Billund, Denmark. Which is the upcoming location of The Lego House. The set is 250 pieces and sold for 149 DKK, which is currently about $27.50.
The Lego House is currently being built in Billund, which is where the Lego Group was founded in 1932. The building will be part museum, and part educational experience (and I’m sure part gift shop).
CopMike has recently gotten their hands on The Lego House, and posted a full review over on Eurobricks. The set comes with a perfect-bound soft-cover instruction manual, an exclusive (boring) Minifigure, and a bunch of white and trans-clear parts. In fact, two new 1×1 trans clear flat tiles. The final set is not the most exciting, but the limited availability and exclusive Minifig help make up for the design.

The Lego Creator Fairground Mixer (10244) Revealed, a Magical Traveling Carnival
Lego has recently announced the new Lego Creator set, the Fairground Mixer (10244). A great complimentary set for the Grand Carousel (10196). The Fairground Mixer arrives aboard a huge truck, along with all the other pieces for a traveling carnival. The Mixer ride can be unfolded from the truck, and in a few easy steps it can be ready to ride. The ride features some ingenious mechanicals allowing it to spin and turn with the help of a hand crank. If that seems too laborious, then you can hook up your own Lego Power Functions for a fully automated experience. The Fairground Mixer will include 1,746 pieces at $149.99. It will be available this June, 2014.
The Fairground Mixer comes with a whole lot of other stuff too. A ticket booth, a dunk tank, and a strongman game (high striker). All of this can be packed up on the two include trucks for easy transportation.
These two trucks are really neat, and Lego has done a great job squeezing all of the rides and details onto these fully functioning vehicles.
What would a traveling carnival be without the crowds. Lego has included 12 Minifigures, which seems to be very generous (compared to their other recent releases). There is the quintessential queasy man who is holding it all back after a ride on the Mixer. A female carnival guest and two children (boy and girl).
There is also another female guest ready for some fun. A strong man challenger. A truck driver/ride operator. And, a juggling man/carnival employee.
Finally there is the ticket booth operator, two more children (boy and girl) and the dunk tank lady.
“Climb aboard the LEGO® Fairground Mixer and hold onto your hat!
Unfold the awesome Fairground Mixer, turn the crank and see it come to life! The fair has come to town and children and adults alike can’t wait to try the rides. Buy your ticket from the ticket booth and climb aboard the Mixer. Then try reaching the golden bell on the high striker or hit the target to plunge the dunk tank lady into the water. As evening falls, the swirling Mixer ride glows in the darkness, before being folded down onto its own trailer for transportation to the next town. This magical fairground is packed with wonderful details that will capture everyone’s imagination. Includes 12 minifigures: a juggling man on stilts, dunk tank lady, strong man challenger, ticket lady, truck driver/ride operator, 2 women, 2 girls, 2 boys and a queasy man who tried the mixer one too many times.
Enjoy the magical atmosphere of the fairground with the LEGO® Fairground Mixer, packed with exciting features and imaginative details.

Lego Ghostbusters: Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and Friends on CUUSOO
Lego is gearing up to release their first Ghostbusters themed set. After the Lego CUUSOO Back to the Future project was accepted and announced the idea of a Ghostbusters themed set gained popularity. The creator of Lego Ghostbusters (21108) is BrentWaller, who has recently proposed a new Ghostbusters set. The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. This guy is huge, and when it is taking over your Lego Modular City, who are you going to call?
This giant gooey monster is not alone, he is being proposed with three accompanying Minifigures. Everybody’s favorite bad guy, Walter Peck. Dana Barrett as the Gatekeeper. And, Louis Tully as the Keymaster. These three are ready to foil whatever plans the Ghostbusters have ready.
“Random Facts:
- Over 34cm or 13 inches tall
- If I was to use a similar ratio of a human compared to the Stay Puft as there is in the movie, That Marshmallow Man would be 68cm or 27 inches tall, which makes this version exactly half scale compared to a minifig.
- Estimated 1800 Pieces (This could be reduced fairly easily, it was more due to my limited piece library and budget)
- Estimated 60 hours design and build time.”
