Yoshi! He is Mario’s trusted friend, traveling companion, babysitter, and sometimes even vehicle. First appearing in Super Mario World, where he wowed the world with his ground pound, flutter jump, egg throwing, and appetite. The green dino has made it into almost all of the Mario video games since his debut. This Lego Yoshi is the creation of Koen Zwanenburg. It has movable legs, arms, and jaws. The lime green lego is a perfect match for him which in the past Lego builds have had to use the darker green. This lego dinosaur even has sneakers, which helps him get around. If you look hard enough you might even find him in Mario 64.
Lego Dimensions had a bunch of surprise licenses. One of their best was the Portal video game set. It featured a Minifigure of Chell, a Turret, and a Companion Cube. But, that little set left many people hoping for more. Thats why it is great to see the Lego Ideas submission called “Portal 2 – GLaDOS vs Chell and Wheatley” make its way to the top. This Lego build features the computer GLaDOS which is currently in charge of the Aperture Science Enrichment Center. Things have gone a bit poorly so Chell and Wheatley are there to make things better (or worse). GLaDOS is fully detailed, and yet surprisingly movable. There is even a hidden cake if you can find it. A Companion Cube and Turret compliment the scene which you can see in the video below.
There is only one way to get to the Fortnite Island and that is to catch a ride on the Battle Bus. A crazy bus loaded up with people who are getting ready to hunt each other down. The only way off is to jump, and parachute/glide your way to the ground. This Lego Fortnite Battle Bus is the creation of Brick Vault. It is the iconic blue school bus. It features locked and booted wheels. With a huge rig holding a massive hot air balloon. This Lego MOC is a tricky design. There are a lot of Lego pieces up in that balloon. Which makes it hard to properly brace and hold it upright over the bus while still making it look like it can float. The bus looks great on its wheels, but it has also been designed to hang from above. That way you can recreate all those crazy characters jumping out (to their doom). In this case Minifigures in a bunny rabbit costume and a scuba suit. Brick Vault even offers instructions on how to build this yourself. There are over 2900 pieces so it will not be as quick as a round of Fortnite.
The Nintendo Famicom looks a lot different than the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). In 1983, Japan was introduced to the Famicom, also known as the Family Computer. It would take three years (1989) until the rest of the world could play the updated grey box design. The Famicom is a top loading video game system, with a distinct red, white, and gold design. This Lego Famicom is the creation of qian yj. Recreating the original design in Lego, with a period accurate television. The system even comes with a Lego Contra cartridge. So when you pick up your controller make sure to enter in the Konami code. You will probably have a very hard time beating the game without the help.
The Lego TV is completely made out of bricks. It features a Lego made screen showing off Contra’s title screen. There are a variety of knobs and switches on the front, even the classic rabbit ears style antenna. The design also includes a handle on the top (not load bearing), and a fully detailed back. With all the hookups, ports, and power stuff you can find on a TV from the 70s/80s. With the volume of this thing, I don’t know if the weight of a cathode TV or this Lego version is heavier. There is a lot of Lego in this build.
The Lego Famicom with Contra game, is a perfect recreation of the original. The SNOT style building here gets pretty complicated, with moving buttons, and a sliding cartridge eject system. Even the video game cartridge can be removed. The cords and hookups are also made of official Lego pieces. It is all brought together with the use of a few custom stickers.
The Minifigure Streamer is ready to broadcast live gaming from his battlestation. It is a complete setup for PC gaming, and video gaming in general. With duel monitors, PC gaming chair, microphone, camera, PC, and consoles. This streamer is not going to run out of content. Decorating the walls of this gaming room is some artwork, and a wall mounted TV. Everything a video game fan could want. There is not even any cables in sight. Perfection. This Lego Battlestation is the work of Chadopolis. Who created the ideal setup seen all over the internet. This a great Lego MOC. You can imagine this on Twitch, YouTube or even Steam. After the first reveal, they added a few more details, such as an overflowing trashcan, and a subwoofer. They even added some Mt. Dew… gamer fuel.
Wilbur is ready to fly you to your new deserted island. Tom Nook has promised New Horizons are on their way. Dodo Airlines is a new island service in the popular Animal Crossing video game. This cozy airport is run by two dodo’s, Wilbur and Orville. The pair are ready to take you Harv’s island, your friends islands, and to a variety of uncharted islands. Basically there are a lot of islands. This Lego MOC is the creation of DanielBrickSon. The character is spot on. The rotund 3D bodies are hard to recreate in Lego, but this one has achieved it well. Check out the cool sunglasses, the headphones and mic, and the detailed bird feet. So pack a bag, Delta Oscar Delta Oscar is a go!
“The Great Ball” is a Lego MOC built by Tiago Catarino. The Great Ball is a slightly better version of the Poké Ball. Which is one of most iconic items from the Pokémon video game series. It features a striking blue and white color pattern, with red highlights. Luckily all of these things can be replicated with Lego. Even the button and seam stripe are accounted for. The Doom Slayer (Doomguy) and the Imp have been working together for over 25 years. In the newest game, Doom Eternal, the fight has been brought to Earth. The demons have overrun everything and this Lego Imp and Lego Doom Slayer are ready for a new fight. These Lego MOCs have been done in the BrickHeadz style, which ends up working very well. Their low resolution history is easier to adapt to this blocky theme. Check out the Imp with all of its protruding horns, red evil eyes, and fireball abilities. It is the grunt of the demon army. Then there is the Slayer, all done up in the classic suit, and armed with a pistol. Now if only someone will build a BFG, we might just be able to take back Earth.
The Nintendo Entertainment System is an icon in video games. The original NES had some 700 or so games released. Having a collection of the whole library would take up way too much space, and cost way too much money. But the idea of playing every video game in one place is very popular. There is the official NES Classic Edition, which was never as widely available as the market wanted. It also only contained a selection of the more famous games.
The good news is that you can create your own version. A Raspberry Pi system is cheap, and easy to work with. Which is why a whole community has formed with people putting the system in all sorts of old electronics. To create a NES Raspberry Pi the hardest part is finding a shell, or old system to work with. If you have some Lego, you can even build your own.

The Nintendo Switch is a phenomenon. It is an almost perfect blend of portability and console. Proving to be the best way to play most video games, especially indie games. The Switch even has a lot of Lego video games. (Lego Worlds, City Undercover, Marvel Superheroes 2, Ninjago Movie Videogame, The Incredibles, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Lego Movie 2, and DC Super-Villains. With many more coming!) Making a Nintendo Switch out of Lego is a fun build too. 3DS Animation has provided a few video instructions, showing how to make a Lego Switch, a Dock, and Joycons. Check them out below.
Another Lego project you can build is a working Nintendo Switch Dock. Through the top you can slot the system into the Lego Dock. Then you can attach optional Lego Joycons to finish the illusion. A cool detail is that you can build multiple Joycons in different colors. This build is also from 3DS Animation, who again provides video instructions for the Lego Dock.
