Check out these cool custom Lego Minifigures based on the sci-fi MMO Destiny. Living Legend spent months perfecting these Guardians. They feature unique vinyl stickers, and custom paint work. These Minifigs are ready to destroy their alien enemies, or spend hours shooting wildly into a cave.

The official Lego Friends sets can be a bit limiting. They are completely rooted in a city theme, with no signs of expanding into the other Lego themes (Pirates, Space, etc.) A great way to work around this is to create your own Lego creations. One of the best features about Lego is just how modular the pieces are, almost every Lego part can be used with another Lego part. Mark Stafford used his imagination and created a sci-fi themed Lego Friends mecha titled the Ultra Violet. The best part of these MOCs is the innovative use of obscure Lego pieces. Check out the pink baskets, lipsticks, telephones, lightsaber beams, and wood panels. Check out the Friends section for more examples of this.

People argue that the Lego Big Figures and the BURPs (Big Ugly Rock Piece) are hard to use in any way other then what was intended. Then someone comes along and does something completely original and proves otherwise. Here, SparkArt!, removed Jabba’s lower half and replaced it with a robot body. Creating the universes most disgusting cyborg. This idea is completely plausible as it has precedence in the Clone Wars series. The blaster holster is strangely adorable.

Science Fiction and the Lego Friends make for a strange combination that works well. Flickr user, colgs3b, has been building a whole series of Hardsuits for the Friends. These mechas appear to be in scale with the other Lego Friends figures. But you wont find them tending horses of farming. Although they may train in Karate during their off time. The first of the Hardsuit Friends is Blacktron Olivia. Using theming elements from the classic Lego Blacktron, Olivia looks like someone you would not want to mess with.
Olivia is not fighting alone. Her mother is also on the front lines wielding a massive gun and a deceptively friendly pink and teal paint scheme.
Hardsuit Stephanie is also present. With a purple and teal and yellow suit. Stephanie appears to be able to fly. Making her extremely dangerous.
When in danger the strongest Hardsuits are needed to hold the front line. Here M-Tron Mia is ready to defend against anything. Make sure to be very careful as her magnet technology is extremely deadly.

The Lego Friends have been finding themselves in all sorts of Lego MOCs lately. Especially in the Space or Science Fiction theme. Bermudafreze, of Flickr, has build this deadly Lego Friends Mech. The Mech features a gatling gun, a massive clamp, missiles and bone crushing treads. In fact the treads are especially nice, built out of ball joint pieces. That idea looks great in this build. This mech unit is ready for whatever is thrown at it.
The new Lego CUUSOO set, NASA Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover (21104), has recently been released and is extremely hard to find. Not only that, but reviews for the the Rover are also rare. Maybe it is because YCF Lego Reviews has pretty much posted the definitive video review. Not only do they have the set designer (and Curiosity engineer!), Stephen Pakbaz, assisting in the review, but this 18 minute video also features a Lego studio tour. The Lego Curiosity Rover is the smallest CUUSOO set yet. With 295 pieces and a price tag of $29.99. The little Rover features a unique 6 wheel rocker-bogie suspension, an articulated arm, and even a model nuclear power source. This thing is ready to explore Lego Mars.
One of the most interesting aspects of this review is that they spend a great deal of time comparing the released Rover with the original proposed Rover. The most apparent change is the color of Mars (baseplate) and its rocks. Opting for a gray color because the dark orange is not in production. Good news is that there are many gray rocks on Mars, so it stays accurate. There are two other big changes. The articulated arm has been reinforced, to prevent accidental breaking. And, the suspension has been refined. Stephen Pakbaz compliments Lego with designing a more accurate and sturdy suspension in the released Rover.
The video from YCF also features a pretty extensive tour of Stephen Pakbaz’s studio. Featuring other space themed models (Voyager, Juno…), Transformers, and even Samurai Jack’s villain: Aku. This is a great setup for a Lego room… wow.

These Lego Friends inspired cyborgs are the creation of Larry Lars. Who has been refining the robotic body for a few years now. Which has paid off well with these awesome cyborgs. The first one (white, black hair) was created in 2012, while the newest (white, red hair and blue) are from 2013. The compact building style looks extremely delicate, but the end result is worth it. This is a great example of the Lego telephone being put to use. These Lego Friend Cyborgs look like they could fit into a Masamune Shirow manga (Appleseed, Ghost in the Shell).
Lego made a smart move by allowing the Lego Friends figures to fit into the Lego System. This allows the various body parts to be mix and matched with other Lego pieces. The Lego Minifigure style hair can be used on the Friends figures. This greatly expands the available hair styles for your figures. Here the Lego Friends head has been matched with the anime style Minifig hair from the Exo-Force theme.

In Bioshock Infinite the big bad guy is more often then not the Handyman. These huge mechanical men would be integrated into a robotic body as a way of prolonging their lives. Too bad Booker DeWitt came along and killed a whole bunch of them. This Minifigure scale Handyman is great. The minimalistic treatment to the robotic body is a great fit, and the minifigure head is a perfect match for their character. The Iron Man Mark VII Armor is instantly recognizable. With a good contrast between red and gold this armor is one of the popular. Flickr user Mmccoey has designed a fully posable figure of Iron Man with Lego. There are over 50 points of articulation, if you count all the movable pieces of armor and the individual fingers. The size of this figure and all of its features match up with most of the non-Lego action figures. This thing has missile launchers, wrist mounted lasers, anti-personnel missiles, air-to-ground missiles, flares, and propulsion jets. This figure also features 6 yellow Lego light bricks (in the photos here they have been manipulated in Photoshop to be blue). Whew!
