The Blue Lion Castle – An Epic Lego MOC
If the Lego King’s Castle (70404) is just not big or detailed enough then this Blue Lion Castle might be what you are looking for. This classic looking castle is made up of tens of thousands of Lego pieces. The whole things sticks to a gray and blue color scheme that works extremely well. These Lion Knights and Soldiers are protecting one of the most epic Lego castles ever built. The detailing in the walls, the stained glass, the grand entrance, and the huge tower make this thing a work of art.
The Lego Blue Lion Castle was inspired by the famous Hohenzollern Castle. Which is located on the top of Berg (Mount) Hohenzollern in Germany. The iconic Hohenzollern Castle shares the blue and gray design, and overall floor plan with the Blue Lion Castle. The Lego version though seems to be much more ornate then the real life inspiration.

It’s A Lego Adventure Time With These Brick-Built Figures
The crazy imagination of the Adventure Time TV is a great match for Lego. That is why there have been so many great MOCs and Lego Idea projects (see here). One of the newest Lego Adventure Time projects is titled Brick-built Adventure Time Figures, created by aBetterMonkey. The project proposes 15 Brick-Build Figures that total up to 640 Lego pieces. A whole lot of Lego Ideas projects are way too large to ever be produced by Lego, but 640 pieces is a pretty good sweet spot. The idea is to create a set of toys rather than a display model, but these look awesome! Make sure to go vote for the Lego Idea.

The Pegasus Automaton. A Lego Kinetic Sculpture.
An Automaton is a movable mechanical kinetic device, usually imitating humans. These machines were extremely popular from 1860–1910. Some of them had very basic movements, such as arms/limbs, but others were much more complicated. The best Automatons could write, speak, serve tea, and sing. Amida, of BrickLink, created their own Lego Pegasus Automaton. A kinetic sculpture created entirely out of Lego. By turning a single gear, this graceful beast can flap its wings, move its tail, and pivot its body. All these movements come together in a pretty lifelike animation of flying. The white, brown, gray, and gold color palette, and some of the small details (the crystal knob) create a piece that could fit into any Jules Verne, or Steam Punk collection. The Lego Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart Leaked?
It looks like the next Lego Simpsons set has been leaked. The Kwik-E-Mart (71016) first showed up on jcbricks‘s Instagram, and was mirrored over on lego_sid‘s account. The photo seems to be showing a cropped and poorly photographed box from the new set. It looks like Apu, Marge, Police Chief Wiggum, and Snake are included with the full size building. This thing is looking pretty big, and it looks like the interior will be fully stocked with all sorts of products. This Lego Kwik-E-Mart is amazingly close to this MOC, from the Springfield Project. Mount Doom (79022), The Lord Of The Rings Lego
It feels like Lego should still have a Return of the King wave in their The Lord of the Rings theme. People all over the internet would like to have an official Minis Tirith, Barad-dûr, Witch-king of Angmar, or a Mount Doom set. Graham Gidman has proposed what the missing Mount Doom set would look like. His Mount Doom (79022) would be priced at $24.99 and come in at 201 pieces. Everything about this MOC looks like it could be an official Lego set. It even features the stupid little catapult that most fantasy set have. Poor little Lego Frodo, he doesn’t know that Gollum is going to bite his finger off. And, poor little Gollum, he is about to fall to his doom.

The Legend of Zelda, Link’s Hylian Shield – A Lego Mosaic.
Lego and Zelda go together extremely well, so well that there are many epic Lego creations based on the popular video game franchise. The fantasy setting blends well with the Lego Castle theme. An uncountable amount of kids have at one time or another created their own Zelda inspired MOC. A whole lot of Nintendo themes would fit into Lego. Imagine Mario, Metroid, Zelda, and Pokemon. With the recent release of Majora’s Mask, a few more custom creations are probably on their way.
This Lego mosaic of Link’s Hylian Shield is the creation of Briotr. Instead of sticking to a simple grid style Lego mosaic, they combined and used a lot of pieces that can create more natural shapes. This style also acts as a sort of magic eye sort of puzzle. Can you find an alligator, red flag, blue Lego pants, and the $100 bill? Good luck!

Lego Minions! Minions! Minions!
Feeling like the wait is way too long for another Despicable Me? Thats okay, because the Lego community has been creating a whole lot of Lego Minions. There are Minions Parties, Mini Minions, Minion Maids, Batman Minions, and many many more. LegoGenre even has a whole section of these creations. The newest entry into the series is this collection of Minions! created by Yatkuu. My favorite of the bunch are the SuperHero themed Minions. Captain America and Batman Minion are instantly recognizable and hilarious. These little dudes have an interesting story:
“This series of Minions was inspired by my Nerdly-Minion and started as a project for the LEGO Store community window in Raleigh, NC. I meant to put these up on display for the release of the movie “Minions” due in July 15. I think the kids would have liked it.
Unfortunately, for reasons that I can’t really comprehend TLG decided to revisit the rules of the community windows and as a result these little guys will probably never see a LEGO store from up-close. Too bad.”
