Lego Friends Castle + Superheroes + Orcs = Friendsington Castle

fujiia and Kloou's Lego Friends Castle: Friendsington Castle 01

At first glance the Friendsington Castle looks like a normal friendly Lego Friends castle. But, then you notice some of the details such as the Orcs and Troll, or the redecorated Batcave, or even Jack Sparrow. Friendsington Castle is a weird blend of Lego Friends, Superheroes and other Lego themes. There is a certain charm to the madness. Created by fujiia in collaboration with Kloou for the Fana’Briques 2013 expo.

“An ordinary day at Friendsington Castle. Despite the naughty Orcs’ constant attacks, our Friends prefer to develop their artistic senses with little regard for those poor Superheroes.”

One of the most surprising details is under the castle. It looks like the Lego Friends have spent a lot of time redecorating the Batcave. Turning it from a dark and gloomy cave into a bright and clean place for cats. Even Batman’s Tumbler has been completely repainted. Now featuring a green and yellow scheme. Batman is probably less than enthusiastic about these changes, but may be even more upset that Wolverine seems to have found his way into the cave. Superman seems to be without pants, and Spiderman has just gotten a wild hairdo. This is just a sample of the crazy going on here.

Lego Friends: You’re invited to a Pool Party!

eilonwy77's Lego Friends Pool Party 01

It looks like the Lego Friends are having a Pool Party, and you’re invited. The patterns and colors of this MOC are crazy insane. Every single piece has been carefully placed. The pool pavement, the tiled BBQ area, the beautiful trees and greenery, and the curved wall, everything is made out of Lego pieces. Some of the details can almost get lost in the scene. There are a couple of butterflies enjoying their afternoon. A lazy bird perched on the wall. And, a Lego boom box!

Pool Party is the creation of Flickr user eilonwy77. Some of the details have proven so popular that eilonwy77 has posted some quick guides showing how they are created. Specifically, the trees, the curved wall, and the pool deck. Check out the details here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/eilonwy77/7200730436/

Lego Friends: Emma’s Place, A Lovely Modular Building MOC

Kristel’s Lego Friends Emma’s Place 01

It turns out that Lego Friends fits into the Lego System very well. It’s success means that this theme will probably be staying around for years. So far, the Friends theme has been offering many unique Lego pieces and exclusive colors. Focusing on pink, purple, blue, and green has made these sets instantly recognizable (for good or bad). There have been a few amazing MOCs (My Own Creation) combining the Friends theme with other Lego themes. Some of the best creations are those involving the Modular Buildings. These super detailed buildings can be described as a sort of “doll house” for the Lego fan.

This Lego Friends themed modular building is called Emma’s Place. This design would fit into the modular buildings very well. Especially the Lego Pet Shop (10218) and the Lego Cafe Corner (10182). Emma’s Place is a single building that combines the the Beauty Parlour, Fashion Design Studio and Karate Class together. The all glass (plastic!) entrance into Emma’s Place is a great design; opening up into a full Beauty Salon.

Lego Minecraft: The Village & Lego Minecraft: The Nether Available Now

Lego Minecraft is one of those perfect themes. The two come together to create some of the best Lego sets of all time. The Lego Minecraft Micro World set is easily one of the best selling Lego sets of last year. Often selling out of stock once the set had been replenished. Lego has noticed, and has been continually “reprinting” the original Minecraft set. Now Lego has officially released two new sets in the Minecraft theme. Making this the first CUUSOO project to graduate into a full theme. The new Lego Minecraft: The Village and Lego Minecraft: The Nether are now available through Lego and Amazon.

The early reviews are starting to show up, and are generally forming the opinion that these new sets are great. Perfect for anyone who enjoyed the original. Check out the details at Amazon:

Lego Mars Attacks! — Ack! Ack! Ack!

Baronsat's Lego Mars Attacks Ack Ack Ack

Mars Attacks! is having a bit of a resurgence this year with the release of the original trading cards, comic books, collectors book, and an upcoming all new set of trading cards. BaronSat is the one responsible for this creation. A great Lego Mars Attacks Alien trooper. The ray gun looks great, and the back pack is spot on. Even the weird dangly brain pieces near the mouth are there. Just imagine those dangly things shaking while it is talking. “Ack! Ack! Ack!” indeed. Will Mars win this war?

Lino M's Lego Mars Attacks Alien Ambassador

Mars Attacks! is an interesting sci-fi universe. First appearing in 1962 with a surprisingly successful set of trading cards. Since then Mars Attacks has stayed in the collective subconscious with a sporadic series of releases. With a series of comic books and reprinted trading cards through the 1980’s. It ultimately lead to science-fiction-comedy film directed by Tim Burton in 1996, titled Mars Attacks!. Recently a re-release of the original trading cards, a collectors book, and comics have lead to an all new trading card set, to be released in the near future.

Lino M, over on Flickr, created a great Lego Alien Ambassador from Mars Attacks. Featuring the iconic brain, spindly body, and a cosmic ray gun. Also, check out that throne. Super alien looking, with a minimal use of Lego parts.

Lego Adventure Time Main Title

Cartoon Network has created a promo for Adventure Time where they completely redid the Main Title in Lego. The end result is a very well done recreation, showcasing many different styles of Lego building. This Lego Adventure Time looks so good it raises the demand for an official Adventure Time theme.

“(Lego) Adventure Time, C’mon grab your friends, We’ll go to very distant lands. With Jake the Dog and Finn the Human, The fun will never end, it’s (Lego) Adventure Time!”

Now lets see a Lego version for “Cake the Cat and Fionna the Human.”

Despicable Me Minion “BEE-DO. BEE-DO.”

CarMP's Lego Despicable Me Minion Bee Do

“Bee-Do. Bee-Do.”

Despicable Me Minions and Lego seem to go together like cheese and crackers. Case in point, the many, many other Despicable Me Minions in Lego. One of the most recognizable Minions is the little guy with the sirens on his head. The most perfect and worst fire alarm you could have. This little guy manages to combine a lot of the best Minion styles. A nice 3D body (which is a lot harder to build then you might think), a great expressive expression, and the perfect goggles. This Despicable Me Minion even manages to have posable fingers, and wonderful trans-red sirens on this head.
