Lego Moe’s Tavern, Where The Elite Meet To Drink

Lego Moe’s Tavern, Where The Elite Meet To Drink - The Simpsons

For a little while Lego made a couple of sets and Minifigures based on The Simpsons. There has been the Simpsons House, and the Kwik-E-Mart. These two sets are great, and showcase just how well the Simpsons can fit into the Lego world. But, since then there hasn’t been much. Just a Brickheadz release. One location that would be perfect as a set would be Moe’s Tavern.

As this famous Tavern serves a variety of alcoholic drinks, many people think that excludes it from being an official set. Which means fans need to build their own. Which is exactly what Dylan Lane has done with his Lego Moe’s Tavern. This build matches the classic brown and purple color scheme, and even features brick built stained glass windows. The sign is an excellent build and uses a lot of the techniques found in the official modular sets. You can find that Homer just can’t wait to get inside, and have Duff Beer.

A Close Shave With Shaun, Wallace & Gromit

A Close Shave With Shaun, Wallace & Gromit, Lego MOC

After a mishap in the kitchen with breakfast Wallace and Gromit are ready to wash windows and save the day. It’s been a busy day, meeting a very hungry sheep named Shaun. The robot dog Preston is up to no good and Wendolene will need to be saved. Good thing they have a fast motorcycle. This “A Close Shave” Lego MOC is built by grubaluk and hides a nice surprise. This Lego build is an actual working RC Motorcycle. I’m sure Gromit doesn’t mind, but he is sharing the sidecar with a the motor. The Lego RC motorcycle can go forward, and make turns. To help sell the illusion that Wallace is driving, a clever system of gears and strings attach his arms to the handlebars. The rest of the Lego work is great too. The studs being used to represent a rough wool sweater is a great detail. As are the Lego snakes, and wool hat used for details on Gromits face. They motorcycle looks good too! But is it fast enough for Lego Wallace and Gromit to save the day from the malfunctioning Preston?

Triple Your Productivity With Homer Simpsons Home Office Assistant

Triple Your Productivity With Homer Simpsons Office Assistant - Lego MOC

Built by grubaluk, this Lego MOC is called “Homer’s Home Office Assistant.” It is a reference to the classic episode from The Simpsons titled King Size Homer. Season 7 Episode 7. There is the Drinking Bird, which Homer uses to automate his job. By bouncing up and down the Bird keeps pressing the keyboard, which ends up tripling his productivity. The other office assistant is Snowball II. The cat that seems to be always hanging around. This Lego Snowball II is an extremely accurate build compared to the cartoon. The bright colors, and smooth (SNOT) techniques are all excellently done. As the safety inspector, can Homer Simpson keep the Nuclear Power Plant operating?

Did you miss me? The Mask Lego

Did you miss me? The Mask Lego

The Mask is one of Jim Carrey’s most iconic films. The blend of live action and old style cartoon works. The extremely animated face of the main star is up to the challenge (with a little bit of help from special effects). This Lego MOC based on The Mask, is the creation of Pistash. It is an entry into the MOC Wars 2020. Specifically the “Not The Bees!” category. The build is instantly recognizable, and just like the source, full of bright colors.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force is one of the most famous television shows from Adult Swim. With 11 seasons and a theatrical movie, they have done a lot. Even got mixed up in a marketing campaign that involved bombs, terrorism, and police. Here, suspectdevice87 has created a Lego Aqua Teen Hunger Force MOC. Featuring the three main characters. Meatwad, Frylock, and Master Shake. They look ready to annoy their South New Jersey neighbors, the Mooninites, and everybody in their way.

The Lego Simpsons. Mr Burns & Bobo.

Shannon Sproule Lego Simpsons Mr Burns & Bobo

“Bobo, I know I say this every century, but I’ll never leave you behind again.” — Mr. Burns

The Simpsons and Lego are full of many possibilities. Shannon Sproule has re-created one of the more odd scenes from the animated television show. This Lego futuristic Mr. Burns is based on Rosebud episode, from season 5. The setting is the year 1,000,000 A.D. and Mr. Burns has finally reacquires his beloved stuffed animal, with the help of a robotic dog Smithers.

An Adorable Lego Mickey Mouse

alanboar's Lego Mickey Mouse

Lego has been making Disney related stuff for a while now. Toy Story, Princesses, Star Wars, Marvel Super Heroes, etc. But, they have never made anything with Disney’s iconic animated mascots. No Mickey Mouse, no Donald Duck, no Goofy. That might change in the future, but for now Lego and Disney fans must create their own. This Lego Mickey Mouse figure is the creation of Alanboar, who built Mickey for his son. It features a very animated pose, and is amazingly expressive for a brick built figure. The massive feet, and the mouse tail are some of the highlights. This MOC is spot on. Just check out the silhouette of Mickey Mouse. The round design of Mickey has been preserved well, especially considering the use of basic bricks here.

The whole set is made of 16 figures, 10 of which are new characters, and 6 are variants from Series 1. The Lego Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 should be showing up in stores around May 2015, at the $3.99 price point. But, keep an eye out, these usually pop up a week or two early in some locations.

WhiteFang's Lego The Simpsons Series 2 Review Packs

The Series 2 Minifigures packaging is yellow and blue this time around. Not to be confused with Series 1. Interestingly Lego didn’t go with an unique color.

WhiteFang's Lego Simpsons Series 2 Review Minifigures

If you find a box, or purchase a box you are looking at least 3 full sets of the Lego Simpsons Minifigures Series 2. The most common Minifigs are Homer is his Suit, Bartman, and Groundskeeper Willie. The uncommon figures this time are Marge in Fancy Dress, Lisa & Snowball II, Maggie & Santa’s Little Helper, Fallout Boy, Doctor Hibbert, and Waylon Smithers. The hardest to find and rare Minifigures this time around include Comic Book Guy, Martin Prince, Professor Frink, Hans Moleman, Selma Bouvier, Patty Bouvier, and Edna Krabappel.WhiteFang's Lego Simpsons Series 2 Review Fallout Boy

We have Groundskeeper Willie, Martin Price, Professor Frink, Doctor Hibbert, Patty Bouvier, Selma Bouvier, Waylon Smithers, Hans Moleman, Comic Book Guy, and Edna Krabappel. The remaining six Minifigs are recolors and variants of previously released figures. There is Fallout Boy, Bartman, Maggie Simpson, Marge Simpson, Homer Simpson, and Lisa Simpson.

Lego The Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 Bartman and Fallout Boy

The Lego Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 is an interesting set. Most of the figures come with unique accessories, usually some sort of printed tile. The best accessories are the Simpsons pets, Santa’s Little Helper and Snowball II. Hopefully there will be a Series 3 in the future. It would be awesome to get some of the bullies, Doctor Nick, or even Moe.
