New Lego Minions Theme, Ready To Invent In April

Lego Minions Theme 75551 Brick Built Minions And Their Lair

Lego Minions are one of the most popular themes for MOCs. Almost everybody seems to like them, and there are a million different ways to build them. So it is no surprise that Lego has officially announced a new Lego Minions Theme. Five sets were revealed at the 2020 New York Toy Fair. The biggest set (and coolest) revealed is 75551 Brick-built Minions and their Lair. It features two substantial brick built minions, Kevin and Stuart. They look great on their own, but they also come with 3 Minion Figures/Minifigures. They also mention that you can rebuild Kevin into Bob, but exactly what is going on is unclear in the photos.

The surprise with this set is that the giant Minions can open up to reveal their hidden lairs/rooms. Kevin opens up into a tall laboratory. Perfect for inventing crazy stuff. While Stuart opens up into a bedroom. Full of toys and games. The new sets also feature Instructions PLUS, a new interactive set of building instructions for your phone and tablet.

This Lego Skeksis Is A Lord Of The Crystal of Truth

This Lego Skeksis Is A Lord Of The Crystal of Truth

The Skeksis are the main villains from the movie The Dark Crystal. They need the Crystal of Truth to retain their immortality. This Lego Skeksis is an immortal MOC created by Hongjun Youn. The model is a great representation of the puppets from the film. They recreate the bird-ish look perfectly. Using only official Lego pieces and no custom bricks. The use of Bionical pieces are a great fit. As is the use of the cloth and linen pieces to help fill out the body. It is really easy to underestimate the volume of this Skeksis, the bad/curved posture makes this thing a lot wider then expected. One really great detail is the staff. Check it out below!

The M577 APC, or Armored Personnel Carrier is the perfect vehicle to take to battle against Aliens. This Lego MOC has all the features including Turret, RE700 Rotary Canon, and DSGR Smart Missiles. There is even room for a small Minifigure crew. Nothing can stop this APC, it is explosion and bullet proof, and can roll over all sorts of terrain. Just make sure not to spill acid around it. This vehicle is the creation of Rick Brickham, and is made up of about 750 pieces.

Helen Sham of Small Bricks Big World – 小積木 大世界 – has been building all sorts of Lego figures. Recently she has been building Batmans. Lots and lots of Batmans. There are at least eight of them, including normal Batman, Rainbow Batman, the Lego Movie Batman, and Fairy Batman. These figures are big, and seem to have a decent amount of motion. Helen has also offered them up for sale, which you can contact her for more details (here).

Three Droids And A Princess, A Lego Star Wars Collection

Miro Dudas Lego Star Wars Collection Leia And Droids

Here is a Lego Star Wars collection of brick built figures based on Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. There is Princess Leia (the only human), R5-D4, R2-D2, and C-3PO. They are built mostly in scale with each other. R2-D2 and R5-D4 are great little builds with a lot of character. In fact the R2-D2 reminds me of the new and rare R2-D2 polybag (30611) from Lego. C-3PO is a great build, and a lot of time went into making sure he was perfect. The key was finding all the correct gold pieces. The Lego vent pieces as the torso wiring is a great solution. Last but not least is Princess Leia. Her brick built figure has the famous hair buns, and is much more posable then she looks. Check out the photos below to see what she can do. A rather large set was also built of the space ship Tantive IV. Allowing a recreation of one of the most famous scenes in the series.

The Princess Leia and R2-D2 were built as a tribute for Carrie Fisher and Kenny Baker. Below, you can really see how well these Lego figures work together. The title of this photo is “”Did you miss me?”

Andreas Lenander Lego Alien Caterpillar P-5000 Powered Work Loader

This is the Lego version of the Caterpillar P-5000 Powered Work Loader, also known as a Power Loader. It looks like Ripley is ready to fight, rather than power load space stuff. This little build is the creation of Andreas Lenander. Who creatively used the Lego fence piece for the cage. Also check out the joysticks and the tiny feet. Just be advised that an Alien is not included.

Kill him. Kill him now. – A Lego Star Wars MOC

Cecilia Fritzvold Lego Star Wars Kill Him

“Kill him. Kill him now.” A famous line from one of the most memorable scenes from Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Cecilia Fritzvold has faithfully recreated this moment in Lego. There are a lot of great details here, but the most impressive is the background. Full of tiny spaceships battling it out. The forced perspective works extremely well.

“I initially tried to include a larger area of the room in my build, as I wanted to include at least the bottom part of the stairs they walk down, and leave some more space for Obi-Wan, but I had to cut it down a bit as I couldn’t fit it all on 32×32. It was also very important to me from the start to be able to show the battle going on outside with the use of some micro spaceships, so I had to leave some room for those behind the windows.”

This Lego Suicide Squad Trailer Might Be Better Than The Film

Lego Suicide Squad Trailer

Forrest Whaley, Sean Willets, Christopher Gearhart are pretty excited for the new Suicide Squad film. They teamed up to recreate the trailer with Lego. It features custom Minifigures, which look great. Almost everything here is built from official Lego pieces. Even the titles have been recreated with digital Lego pieces. Everything comes together into an exciting 42 second trailer. It might even be better than the film.
