Aurora’s Speeder Bike — Lego Figure Build

Aurora's Speeder Bike — Lego Figure Build, Hurricane III

Aurora Sievert is one of the top speeder bike pilots around. Her speeder is the Hurricane III. Known for its minimal design which makes it super fast, although not the safest vehicle. This Lego Figure is created by Eero Okkonen, and called “Aurora Sievert and Hurricane III.” The figure was built first and the end result ended up with a lot of style. The blue and yellow color theme looks great with the red and orange highlights. The design for Aurora was inspired by a Lego windshield and solar panel which would become her shirt. The figure has a bunch of interesting stuff incorporated into it, you can find Lego tires used for ankles, blue and yellow flame pieces make great hair, and a pair of Lego Minifigure hands for eyes. The Hurricane was built afterwards to match Aurora’s design. The speeder bike was inspired by the film, Laputa. Some of the pieces are from the themes Aquazone, Ninjago, and Fabuland. This speeder does not look easy to fly, so a complex weave of hoses and tubes hold Aurora for safety.

The Wizard Of Oz VS The Lego Movie

The Wizard Of Oz VS The Lego Movie

This is what happens when the Wizard of Oz gets all mixed up with the Lego Movie. The Wizard of Bricksburg is a mashup created by th_squirrel. It is based off of their Wizard of Oz scene (see below). This version is starring Bad Monkey, the Spacecrow, the Tin Emmet, Lucy, the Cowardly Pirate, and the Wicked Businessman of the West. It is a great example of mixing up Lego collections to create something new. The yellow brick road is a simple collection of 1×2 and 1×1 yellow plates, which lead your eye straight to the Minifigures. A bunch of red flowers are growing off to the side which also help to guide the eye. The brick built background and forced perspective techniques are the highlight of this Lego MOC. Everything is Lego, even the mountains and the Emerald City. What really helps it all fit together is the shallow depth of field from a DSLR camera.

Curl Up With This Mecha Nautilus

Curl Up With This Mecha Nautilus, Lego MOC

This Lego Nautilus is created by Mitsuru Nikaido. Specifically it is a Mecha Nautilus Mk2-10. This robotic sea creature features a grey and white color palette, there is no color here. The design is amazingly complicated. A system of clips and hinges create the spiral shape, and a whole lot of white plates protect it from harm. There are some surprising Lego pieces to be found. A part of an airplane jet engine is used for the top of the Nautilus, a few Bionicle pieces are around the top, and a Hero Factory logo/icon piece is used for the eye. The tentacle/feeler propulsion system looks especially good. The end result is a very organic Mech, kinda like something you might find in Horizon Zero Dawn.

An Ugly Cute Lego Bug

An Ugly Cute Lego Bug, Lego MOC

This Lego Bug is created by Aiden.Builds, and it is one ugly cute bug. The design almost looks like this thing could fit right in with Pokemon. The bug features a huge golden eye, two tiny rounded fangs, and it has six legs (so it is not a spider). Two huge plastic wings (from the official Ant-Man set) fit in perfectly. The stacked brown dishes used to create the head is a very interesting technique. Not quite sure how they are connected… but, the end effect is amazing. If you happen to see one of these ugly cute bugs hanging around your Lego collection make sure not to step on it.

A Cute Zombie Pirate Ship, Lego MOC

A Cute Zombie Pirate Ship, Lego MOC

Every pirate captain needs a ship, even undead ones. This cute “Zombie Pirate Ship” is the creation of Lego 7. A tiny personal pirate ship that has been converted for land based travel. This mini build has a lot of features packed in. Besides the wheels, there are mini cannons, a mast and crows nest, the required pirate flag, and even a little captains quarters. A few fun Lego parts you can find in this build include a broom stick, the clips being used for a rudder, and the Minifigure pail/bucket used for the crows nest. Even the sails are brick built. Don’t tell the zombie captain but his ship wheel probably doesn’t turn so well…

The Flying Lion, An Imperial Frigate

The Flying Lion, An Imperial Frigate, Lego MOC

The Flying Lion is an Imperial Frigate built by lego_sleepless_night. This Lego ship can run down any pirates operating at sea. The design features a red and black theme with gold highlighting. It matches the flag well. So well that this Lego MOC almost looks like an official release. It fits into the style and scale of the 80s-90s Pirates theme. It has three masts and the techniques used to build them match the old sets. There is even a rope running from stern to bow. A few of the great details include the wings / lionhead on the cabin, the wrap around walkway, and the ladder/ropes all the way up to the crows nest. The frigate comes equipped with a duel anchor system, and even has a monkey stowaway.

Shearleader has chosen the arctic armor, which comes with duel chainsaws and shoulder mounted cannons. While dR3d is wearing a volcano suit that comes equipped with a mechanical machete. Stop And Eat At This Post Apocalyptic Gas Station

Stop And Eat At This Post Apocalyptic Gas Station, Lego MOC

Living in the post apocalypse can be surprisingly comfortable. This reclaimed gas station is home to a small group of survivors who are just making day-to-day. This Lego creation called “Gas Station” has been built by hellboy.lego. Built as an entry into the Vignweek 2020 challenge. This post apocalyptic Gas Station features a small rural style station that has been turned into an outpost/watchtower. It welcomes nobody, with its multitude of Never Stop signs (from the Lego Move 2 sets) mixed in with a bunch of Nuclear Fallout signs. Everything here is Lego, no custom pieces. The soda vending machine, the old classic car, and the EAT sign are all great details that bring a lot of personality to the build. There is even a cute rubber ducky hiding out! Did the survivors get the RV and car up on the roof, or did the nuclear explosion?

Digging For Iron In The DSN Mine

Digging For Iron In The DSN Mine - Lego MOC

The DSN is digging for Iron ore in this Lego Mine created by General Hughes. The Iron Mine is also known as the Jean Douglas Memorial Base inside the DSN. This build is a part of the Decisive Action 4, a collection of Lego MOCs that are creating a fictional world. The whole scene fits in a 20×20 stud base, but expands way up, 3 feet up! In the lower most level is the Ore Transport system responsible for transporting the minerals from tunnel to tunnel. The green LED lighting looks really great here, and helps to highlight the stone/cave design. On the second level is the main mining operation. The green lights being used again to highlight the giant drilling system. The third level reveals that the iron ore is being transported via rockets. The red LEDs help to differentiate this man made level from the lower green lit caves. Finally on the surface you can find the rocket being loaded up with ore from below. A perspective built micro city can be found on the hills, and a brick built background reveals other rockets blasting off.

The Kiruna Watchtower — Mitgardia

The Kiruna Watchtower — Mitgardia, Lego MOC

In the Guilds of Historica the northern guild of Mitgardia rules over cold and harsh lands. Mitgardia has a series of fortifications to provide safety to travelers. This Lego MOC called the “Kiruna Watchtower” is created by Andreas Lenander. Set in the Historica project, which is a collection of fantasy themed Lego creations working towards creating a fictional world full of lore and adventure. This Lego Watchtower has been built as an entry into the Summer Joust. There are a lot of interesting techniques and details on show. The frozen river and snow break out from the base, a great way to communicate how wild and uncontrollable the environment is. The wooden pier is a great mini build as are the various pine trees. The tower itself is a good example of using texture to increase the detail of Lego. The brick patterned 1×2 pieces can look fake when too many are lined up, which has been avoided by adding in some green details.
