A Gleaming LOTR Lego Minas Tirith in Micro Scale

lisqr's Lego Minas Tirith Micro Scale

If there is one The Lord of the Rings set that everyone is waiting for an official release it is Minas Tirith. The problem is that almost any set that Lego designs will disappoint LOTR fans in some way. It will be either, too small and toy like, or small and expensive. A minifigure scale version of Minas Tirith is just not feasible. With this in mind, Flickr user, lisqr proposes a Lego Minas Tirith in micro scale. Even in the tiny scale this is a huge MOC at 65 studs across and 35 bricks tall. The gleaming white walls look ready to withstand any invasion. All the major details of Minas Tirith are here, the 7 ringed levels, the Citadel, the Tower of Ecthelion, and the White Tree.

A Lego CUUSOO page has been created for this project. As lisqr says: “Minas Tirith, the greatest fortress in Middle Earth, deserves to be immortalized in Lego bricks. The Lord of the Rings theme feels incomplete without it.” Check it out here: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/58380

Lego Ghostbusters (21108) CUUSOO set officially revealed!

Lego Ghostbusters 21108 Minifigures

“I tried to think of the most harmless thing. Something I loved from my childhood. Something that could never ever possibly destroy us.” — Dr. Ray Stantz

It seems that the upcoming Lego Ghostbusters (21108) CUUSOO set will be upon us sooner then expected. At the recent Toy Fair (2014), Lego officially revealed details and photos for the new set. The Lego Ghostbusters (21108) will be available for purchase in June 2014 with a retail price of $49.99. The set will include a very slick looking Ecto-1, and the Ghostbusters themselves: Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Raymond “Ray” Stantz, Dr. Egon Spengler, and Winston Zeddemore. The original design was done by Brent Waller, and most of his ideas have been persevered here (except for the Firehouse, which is understandably missing).

Lego Ghostbusters 21108 Set

Not only do the Minifigures have an uncanny resemblance to the Ghostbusters, but the Ecto-1 is almost perfect. It features some SNOT building techniques that really help to preserve the iconic look. A few noticable details are the beautiful Lego blue hoses, and the whip accessory in black.

Lego Ghostbusters 21108 Ecto-1

“This fun and iconic vehicle from the blockbusting ‘80s movie is fully loaded with all the paranormal detection equipment needed to track down those ghastly ghosts. It also features cool Ghostbusters logo decoration, removable roof, tracking computer and seats for 3 minifigures.”

Lego CUUSOO Fall 2013 Review: Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary!

Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Cuusoo Project: Group

Lego just announced the results for the next CUUSOO set. The Lego Review board has approved a Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary set. The other proposals that were looked at included the Female Minifigures set, Poptropica, FTL Spaceships, the Road to Oz, ATLAS mini model, Ghostbusters, and Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary. Lego made a good choice and chose the better of the two Ghostbusters sets. Too bad it sounds like they will not be making the handsome headquarters building. Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore are back in action.

Ghostbusters Cuusoo Project: Ecto-1

Lego specifically mentions the Minifigures and the Ecto-1 for this upcoming set. With a tentative release date of 2014, but no exact month. This is great complimentary set to the recent Back to the Future set. Read more about the Ghostbuster here: http://everydaybricks.com/lego-ghostbusters-cuusoo-project/

This Iron Man, Mark VII Armor is a posable Lego Figure

mmccooey's Iron Man Mark VII Armor Lego Figure

The Iron Man Mark VII Armor is instantly recognizable. With a good contrast between red and gold this armor is one of the popular. Flickr user Mmccoey has designed a fully posable figure of Iron Man with Lego. There are over 50 points of articulation, if you count all the movable pieces of armor and the individual fingers. The size of this figure and all of its features match up with most of the non-Lego action figures. This thing has missile launchers, wrist mounted lasers, anti-personnel missiles, air-to-ground missiles, flares, and propulsion jets. This figure also features 6 yellow Lego light bricks (in the photos here they have been manipulated in Photoshop to be blue). Whew!

The King’s Castle Keep — Lego CUUSOO Project by durazno33

Lego CUUSOO The Kings Castle Keep

Lego is very good at designing a very particular Castle. The recent Lego Kings Castle (70404) is a good example. They usually contain a massive gate house, two wall towers (bastions) and usually one big tower. The design is always extremely modular, with movable walls, and reconfigurable layouts. The only problem is that Lego has made this castle many many times. Once you own one or two they start to blend together and get boring.

Durazno33 has proposed a CUUSOO project called “The King’s Castle Keep.” Which sets out to fix the lack of variety in Lego castles. A three level keep meant to compliment your Castle collection. Featuring a throne room, treasury, kitchen and dungeon. The design would be able to open up from the sides, but still look great from all angles. It even includes an obligatory catapult.

A Lego Minion Maid Named Phil + More…

LegoAdmiral's Lego Minion Maid

Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 have proven to be extremely popular. This is mainly do to the little Minion character. The little Minions appear to be stupid (although some seem to geniuses) but full of personality. Even with these limitations they find themselves in a variety of situations where they end up ruining an experiment, or getting hurt. Even so, they might one day end up saving the planet.

Lego Admiral, from Flickr, has created a smorgasbord of Lego Minions. The newest is “Minion Maid – Phil” and features a little Minion dressed up as a maid, complete with a vacuum cleaner. Take a good look at the vacuum, because it is genius. The shape of it is spot on, and best of all it is built with relatively few bricks. The Lego Minion design is based on 3D sphere building techniques. This gives the Minions a very rotund appearance. Lego Admiral has created 3 basic body types that can be mixed and matched with varying hair and eye combinations. This semi-modular design means that these can quickly multiply into a full blow Minion army.

LegoAdmiral's Lego Minions

These Minions even have their own Lego CUUSOO page: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/47231. Each one can be built with 220-250 Lego bricks. Meaning that they are not overly complicated or cost prohibitive.

A Lego Replica Iron Man Arc Reactor

MrAttacki's Lego Iron Man Arc Reactor

The Iron Man Arc Reactor is one amazing prop. The design is instantly recognizable and just plain cool. In the recent films, Iron Man uses the Arc Reactor to keep shrapnel from entering his heart. It is essentially a fusion power supply that has the ability to power the Iron Man suit. It looks hi-tech yet can easily be replicated using everyday objects. This Lego Arc Reactor is simply amazing.

MrAttacki's Lego Iron Man Arc Reactor Lights

Mr.Attacki has proposed a Lego CUUSOO project based on the Arc Reactor. The whole thing can be built with about 350 Lego pieces, and can be wired with LED lights. The details of this build are beautiful. The design is extremely accurate, and although appearing like a simple build, a lot of advanced techniques are used.

MrAttacki's Lego Iron Man Arc Reactor Instructions

The good news is that Mr.Attacki has included a set of photo based instructions. If only every Lego CUUSOO project would go this far. At least if it never gets considered, fans can attempt to put it together themselves.

The whole project is made even more awesome with the inclusion of some LED lighting. This Arc Reactor look great in a darkened room. You can almost forget that the whole thing is made out of Lego.

Misspelled Lego Back to the Future Flux Capacitor Replacement

Brickset Lego Back To The Future Flux Capacitor Misspelled

The recent Back to the Future Lego set had an embarrassing spelling error in its first few production runs. The Flux Capacitor reads “SHEILD EYES FROM LIGHT.” Lego knew early on about this misspelling but didn’t have an official solution to the problem. They did state that future production runs would be corrected, and that other solutions were being looked into. As of a few days ago, Lego has officially announced a replacement program. You can now get a corrected “SHIELD EYES FROM LIGHT” replacement brick by contacting Lego customer service. This is a great response from Lego!

The good news for all the early buyers, is that they will have both versions of the Flux Capacitor.

The Adventure Time Project, A Lego land of Ooo at Lego CUUSOO

jazlecraz's Lego Cuusoo, The Adventure Time Project

Lego and Adventure Time are an almost perfect match. Fans of both have been hoping for Lego to pick up an official license. Jazlecraz has created an incredibly detailed Lego CUUSOO project based on Adventure Time. This is the best way to get Lego to notice the demand for Adventure Time. There are currently over 9,000 supporters for this project, and when it hits 10,000 Lego has to officially review the proposal and make a decision. Lego has officially commented on the Adventure Time Project, and noted that no new molds would be created for a CUUSOO project. Meaning that the minifigures have been set aside in favor for a micro scale theme. Everybody would still love to see Finn, Jake, BMO, Marceline, Princess Bubblegum, Ice King, and Lemongrab get their own microfigures.

jazlecraz's Lego Cuusoo, The Adventure Time Project Treehouse

The Adventure Time Project is focused on created one amazing micro scale Tree Fort. Consisting of about 400 Lego pieces in its current incarnation. This means that it would fit in with the current $34.99 price point that Lego has favored for their CUUSOO theme. There are also six micro scale Lego sets that have been added as a bonus. Showing what could be done if this becomes a full theme. One thing is certain, if these were real there would be a whole lot of Finn and Jake figures.
