Lego Stitch, Now With More Arms!

Stitch is the adorable alien, who just happens to extremely dangerous. This Lego Stitch created by Legohaulic has been updated to reflect both personalities. Compared to the previous build (check it out here) the newer model has been considerably redesigned. The “earth dog” version now has a bigger head, more SNOT building techniques, better fur, and bigger ears. The biggest change is that the model now supports the full “alien” version. With two extra arms, a bunch of extra antennae, and new pupils for the eyes. Lego Stitch stands at seven inches tall, and has thirteen different points of articulation. This new build is up on Lego Ideas (the previous model achieved over 10,000 votes!) so go vote for it if you want to see an official release!

This Brick Built Deadpool Has A Lot Of Love

This Lego MOC called “A Pool of Love” is created by Bryce Dempsey. Lego Deadpool was built as an entry into an Iron Builders challenge, specifically to use Minifigure hammers and wrenches in unique ways. You can find a few of those pieces used in the hands, the strap over his chest, and used as duel sword hilts. The inspiration for this Lego build came after noticing that two Lego wrenches can replicate the heart hand pose from the Valentine’s Day variant film poster. This is a great build, and it would be interesting to see the whole body. A brick built Deadpool is a good Deadpool.

Why So Serious? — A Lego Joker Model

Every film version of Batman’s greatest enemy, the Joker, has been memorable. But none are as memorable as Heath Ledger’s Joker from The Dark Knight film. With smeared on lipstick, uneven white makeup, and oily green hair. This Lego MOC tries to recreate that look. “Why So Serious?” is a Lego bust of the Joker created by timofey_tkachev. This build uses a lot of olive green Lego leaves to recreate the hair, and it works well. A few dark green leaves help to give the hair texture and definition. The smile is built out of a variety of Lego horns, and a red crowbar, it is a fine detail that gives the model personality. The purple suit is recreated just enough to give an impression of more, while still putting focus on the face. A SNOT style Joker playing card is also included.

This Lego Joker model has a full set of instructions available. The finished bust uses 1,093 pieces, and takes 413 pages to build. The playing card is a separate build, that also has a set of instructions. With 102 pieces and 23 pages. Check below for more information.

Stupid Lego Invader Zim

This Lego Invader Zim build is created by MadLEGOman. It is based off the animated show from 2001 to 2002. A very short lived cartoon that ended up having a huge influence on popular culture. Appearing in comic books, action figures, clothes, video games, and even in theme park rides. The story of an alien secretly living among humans as they research how to conquer the world resonated with a lot of people. This Lego MOC features Zim, and his robot servant Gir. Created as an entry into the Iron Builders challenge, the goal of which is to use as many Lego hammers and wrenches in a build as possible. You can find a bunch here, Zim’s antennae, his fingers, and the text of the flaming sign. Can you find all 22 wrenches and 10 hammers? A great detail for this build is the tiny Earth being crushed. A great Lego sphere, that even has oceans and continents.

The Wild Leopard Cat Lego Creation

The Leopard Cat is native to China and most of Asia. These cute little cats are wild, and are about the same size as a domesticated house cat. A lot of the cats have relocated to parks as their wild habitats are being encroached on. This Lego MOC of a Leopard Cat is created by DOGOD Brick Design. It features a fully posable tail. But, its most captivating feature is the fur. The brown, white, and black pattern is recreated here in detail. This type of random design is hard to make it look natural. It is very easy to mess up and create unintended patterns. You can see here that the problem has been avoided. A few fun details include the red nose, eyes, and the rounded haunches. There is even one really hidden detail. If you remove some of the bricks on the back, you will find text built out of Lego that says “石虎”, which means Leopard Cat.

A Nurturing Mother Giraffe, And Calf — Lego MOC

A nurturing mother giraffe and her calf. She is reaching down for a kiss while her baby is reaching up. This scene is created by Joe Perez, and is titled “Nurture.” This beautiful Lego MOC has a whole bunch of interesting details and features. The SNOT style base gives a nice smooth contrast to the rough and bumpy studs on the giraffes. A few shrubs and plants help set the scene. Nothing too complicated so as not to steal the focus.

The mother giraffe and the baby giraffe are both really interesting Lego models. The baby is actually designed with the body at an angle, which give a lot of personality to it, but complicates the build. You can see from the back that one side of the body is about 1-3 studs tall, and the other side is 2-4. The tail is a Lego broom, and the eyes are 1×1 round hollow plates with a piece of white Lego pipe. The mother giraffe has some nice features too, the broom tail is still present but now it is much longer. The horns and the ears are also present just like on the baby, but now they are bigger and designed slightly different. The best detail just might be the 1×1 flat round plates used for kneecaps.

The 10-SGTY Racer — A Lego Tensegrity Build

This is the 10-SGTY Racer a Lego MOC created by lokiloki29. They built a Lego Tensegrity Sculpture to achieve the hovering spaceship effect. A building technique that has exploded in popularity in the last few weeks. Most of them use Lego chains to hold the weight and balance the floating parts. This creation uses Lego ropes / strings. It helps the spaceship look like it is tethered down, yet ready to depart at any moment. The hanger design is well detailed too. With SNOT techniques used to achieve a more detailed and cleaner base. The yellow boxes created out of Lego plates, and the extra grates on the big Lego grates are great details. The platform lift / gantry is what really helps pull everything together. The appearance of it being on wheels hides its real purpose of being the support structure that is holding up the starfighter. A quick climb up to the walkway and now our pilot is board!

Wolverine Is Taking On The Sentinels Alone

Years ago Lego was putting out a few X-Men themed sets. But due to some (comic/film) licensing issues most X-Men toys were shelved. Since that time the occasional mutant would show up in other Marvel themed sets. Such as Deadpool or Scarlet Witch. So fans have been creating their own creations. This Lego MOC, called “Wolverine vs The Sentinels” is created by I Scream Clone.

I Scream Clone spent well over a year designing the Lego Sentinels. Finding the perfect balance (literally) so that they could stand up on their own while looking accurate. These giant robots even have some LEDs wired in their eyes and chest. Perfect for detecting mutants at night.

The whole scene looks like something ripped straight out of a comic book. The spotlight on Wolverine reminds me of Days of Future Past (issue 141). Wolverine is probably going to have a bad night. The Lego wall separating the characters looks great. Large and imposing, and yet ruined and crumbling. Inside the junk pile you can find skeleton bones, street signs, and other warning signs. All made out of Lego!

The Luna Praedo, A Space Pirate Vessel

Ready the cannons! Unfurl the solar energy sails! Captain Ira is in command of the Luna Praedo, a Lego space pirate ship created by Alex Fojtik. Also known as the Moon Robber, this ship will attack and board any spaceships it can catch. This Lego MOC comes with a whole back story, which is one of the great things about Lego. It can really get your imagination going. This spaceship takes the term ship literally, and comes equipped with huge deck mounted cannons, 13 side mounted cannons, and about a million more guns mounted all over. The sleek design works well and it looks both futuristic and archaic at the same time. Almost like something from a cartoon or video game. The transparent green, black, and gray color design is a great call back to the Lego theme Blacktron.

This Lego Mecha Comes With Backup

This Lego Mecha, also known as “LHB-025 Dvergr,” is created by Ryuhei Kawai. And, the robot is ready battle. It comes equipped with a huge energy axe, a few small guns, and missiles. Most importantly it comes with its own backup, two little cars equipped with cannons. Each car is slightly different, if you notice the cannons have different colors. The blue car is optimized to be as light as possible. While the yellow vehicle is more armored, but presumably slower than the other. The mecha on the other hand looks like a tank. With huge arms, and relatively small feet. A very solid build that does not look fragile. If LHB-025 Dvergr somehow becomes unbalanced its backup will cause a distraction, until things can get back up and running.
