The Wizard Of Oz VS The Lego Movie

The Wizard Of Oz VS The Lego Movie

This is what happens when the Wizard of Oz gets all mixed up with the Lego Movie. The Wizard of Bricksburg is a mashup created by th_squirrel. It is based off of their Wizard of Oz scene (see below). This version is starring Bad Monkey, the Spacecrow, the Tin Emmet, Lucy, the Cowardly Pirate, and the Wicked Businessman of the West. It is a great example of mixing up Lego collections to create something new. The yellow brick road is a simple collection of 1×2 and 1×1 yellow plates, which lead your eye straight to the Minifigures. A bunch of red flowers are growing off to the side which also help to guide the eye. The brick built background and forced perspective techniques are the highlight of this Lego MOC. Everything is Lego, even the mountains and the Emerald City. What really helps it all fit together is the shallow depth of field from a DSLR camera.

The Golden Girls Lego Living Room and Kitchen Modular Set

lostsleep's The Golden Girls Lego Living Room and Kitchen Modular Set

The Golden Girls Lego Living Room and Kitchen Modular Set is the creation of lostsleep. It took this Lego Ideas project only a few weeks to obtain over 10,000 supporters. The show set is about as accurate to the classic television show as you could expect. It features the iconic round table, a foyer, and living room all set up like a live television show set. You just need to add your live audience, cameras, and production crew. The four main women are instantly recognizable. You have Dorothy, Rose, Sophia, and Blanche. This is such an awesome set, and I cannot wait to see what the official Lego response will be!

lostsleep's The Golden Girls Lego, Dorothy, Rose, Blanche, and Sophia

“This is a recreation of the Golden Girls House used in filming the popular 1980’s show that is still watched daily around the world. It is the Foyer, Living Room, and Kitchen built like a TV set, with one wall removed and a full view into the space.  It comes with 5 minifigures including Dorothy, Rose, Sophia, Blanche, and Stanley.  It has been meticulously recreated to have opening cupboards and fridge in the kitchen, Wicker Sofa and Chairs, a hallway backdrop, a storage closet in the kitchen, and an outdoor area with potted plants and a hose.

I have recreated many classic scenes from the show, including a visit from Burt Reynolds, Rose shooting Blanche’s Vase, Dorothy Playing “Grab That Dough” and Rose rescuing her Teddy Bear from a mean little girl.”

The Lego Wizard of Oz, Follow the Lego Brick Road

Siercon and Coral, Lego Wizard Of Oz, Follow the Lego Brick Road

Siercon and Coral have created a Wizard of Oz Lego scene titled: Follow the Lego Brick Road. The project is part of an Iron Builder competition with Legohaulic (Tyler) where the yellow rounded 1×2 slope must be creatively used. You can spot them in the Yellow Brick Road, the hot air balloon, and the sun. This is an interesting MOC, as it is using a mosaic background and forced perspective to create something similar to a painting. The end result is great. The Lego Wizard of Oz is quickly becoming a popular theme…

Follow the Yellow Slope Road, a Wizard of Oz Lego MOC by Legohaulic (Tyler)

Tyler's Wizard Of Oz Lego, Follow the Yellow Slope Road

Lego and the Wizard of Oz have seen some great builds before (especially the recent project by VirtuaLUG). The fantastic setting and great characters are a perfect fit for Lego. This vignette, created by Legohaulic (Tyler), is titled: Follow the Yellow Slope Road. The project is part of an Iron Builder challenge to incorporate the yellow 1×2 curved slope into a project. The results here are marvelous. The use of the curved Lego pieces in the background make for a great forced perspective, which gives the illusion that the build is larger then it really is. Dorothy Gale, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, and Toto look great.

This Toto might be my favorite Lego dog ever built.
