The 10-SGTY Racer — A Lego Tensegrity Build

The 10-SGTY Racer — A Lego Tensegrity Build

This is the 10-SGTY Racer a Lego MOC created by lokiloki29. They built a Lego Tensegrity Sculpture to achieve the hovering spaceship effect. A building technique that has exploded in popularity in the last few weeks. Most of them use Lego chains to hold the weight and balance the floating parts. This creation uses Lego ropes / strings. It helps the spaceship look like it is tethered down, yet ready to depart at any moment. The hanger design is well detailed too. With SNOT techniques used to achieve a more detailed and cleaner base. The yellow boxes created out of Lego plates, and the extra grates on the big Lego grates are great details. The platform lift / gantry is what really helps pull everything together. The appearance of it being on wheels hides its real purpose of being the support structure that is holding up the starfighter. A quick climb up to the walkway and now our pilot is board!

The Luna Praedo, A Space Pirate Vessel

The Luna Praedo, A Space Pirate Vessel, Lego MOC

Ready the cannons! Unfurl the solar energy sails! Captain Ira is in command of the Luna Praedo, a Lego space pirate ship created by Alex Fojtik. Also known as the Moon Robber, this ship will attack and board any spaceships it can catch. This Lego MOC comes with a whole back story, which is one of the great things about Lego. It can really get your imagination going. This spaceship takes the term ship literally, and comes equipped with huge deck mounted cannons, 13 side mounted cannons, and about a million more guns mounted all over. The sleek design works well and it looks both futuristic and archaic at the same time. Almost like something from a cartoon or video game. The transparent green, black, and gray color design is a great call back to the Lego theme Blacktron.

Fly Me To The Lego Moon

Fly Me To The Lego Moon

This Lego “Astronaut” is a creation of R 194. A mouse seems to have found itself on the moon in this comical Lego MOC. The mouse is outfitted an a very bulky spacesuit, with a giant air tank on the back, and room for its ears on top. It looks like the way into the suit is by the giant valve on the top. The Lego moon that the astronaut has found itself sitting on is an anthropomorphized crescent. The yellow frog on the tip of the moon is a fun detail. While the mouse looks like it is trying to find a way to eat a chunk of moon cheese. And, I like to think the viynl record on the back of the spacesuit is a copy of Fly Me To The Moon.

The LL-527 Falchion Starfighter

The LL-527 Falchion Starfighter, Lego MOC

This is the LL-526 Falchion Lego Starfighter, created by Mansur Soeleman. The starship comes with a short backstory. The prototype attack craft has implemented stolen Blacktron stealth tech. The unfinished style of this starfighter helps to make it look unique. The Lego MOC has an incredible amount of greebles, right up there with a Star Destroyer. The nose cannon works well and the connections with the Lego steering wheel look smooth. The cylinders are echoed throughout this design. From the nose to the engines. In the end the starfighter looks like the pilot is strapped into a giant jet engine, not sure if it is stealthy but it does look fast.

Space Drag Racing With The Lego DR4G-5T3R

Space Drag Racing With The Lego DR4G-5T3R

Space Drag Racing is all the rage throughout the universe. An extremely competitive and dangerous sport for the drivers, and spectators. The Neo Classic Space inspired dragster, known as the DR4G-5T3R, is the work of Rubblemaker. The blue spaceman pilot is the only guy brave enough to drive the fastest land vehicle in Space Drag Racing. This Lego MOC features a two wheel design, with a gigantic engine, and more exhaust pipes than a fuel refinery. The dragster is based on swivel-ball tech, meaning super fast all terrain turns. This is achieved with the gigantic rear wheel, which is actually a Lego Death Star piece from the Lego Star Wars Planet Sets. A tough piece to work with, as it doesn’t have a lot of studs and connection points. The blue, grey, and yellow design is a perfect call back to classic space, which makes you go faster. But, is it enough to win the drag race?

Mike, Gypsy, And Cambot In A Lego Mystery Science Theater

Mike, Gypsy, And Cambot In A Lego Mystery Science Theater 3000

This Lego Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K) build is the creation of Chris Doyle. The scene features the host Mike, and the robot Gypsy. The original television show started in 1988, and continues on (in some form) today. A human and a few robots are aboard the spaceship The Satellite of Love, and are forced to take part in an experiment: to see what happens to humans when forced to watch terrible movies. This scene feature Mike, the second human host to take part in the experiment. This Lego build depicts the moment between bad movies, when Mike and the robots are getting into all sorts of wacky situations. Mike is a great caricature and looks very animated. Check out those Lego hands, the solution for thumbs works well. Gypsy the purple robot is instantly recognizable. In another photo, you can see Cambot is also hanging around, and a mirror is used to show off the design. An excellent use of a Lego tire. Will Lego Mike Nelson ever finish the experiment, or will he finally escape?

Stephanie Will Stay On Target With Her Lego Friends X-Wing

Stephanie Will Stay On Target With Her Lego Friends X-Wing

Stephanie spends a lot of time outdoors, riding horses, swimming, playing soccer, and riding a jetski. But did you know she is one of the best X-Wing fighter pilots in the galaxy? Her Lego Friends X-Wing is roughly the same scale as the official Star Wars X-Wings. It features a unique white, purple, and pink paint style. It has all the normal starfighter stuff: engines, s-foils, proton torpedo launchers, and glass canopy. The best feature is the astromech navigation system, or should it be called astrodog navigation system? Currently the best system to help target tennis balls with. This Lego Friends X-Wing also includes a clear display stand, and a small skiff for transporting goods and crew with. The Rebel helmets look great on the Lego Friends figures.

The Cubo Scout Drone Exploring Deep Space

The Lego Cubo Scout Drone Exploring Deep Space
The Cubo Scout Drone Back
Lego Cubo Scout Drone Opened

This is the Lego Cubo Scout Drone, created by Milan Sekiz. This cute little drone is based on the 1980’s Blacktron theme. The black, yellow, and red colors are very striking. You can tell because of all the black, that this drone is up to some bad stuff. The design of this spaceship when folded up is a cube. With one corner featuring an ominous red window. A Lego light brick is placed inside to achieve the red light effect. The scout can unfold itself and open into a more traditional spaceship design. With two wings and engines. The whole this even comes with a stand, that holds the ship on its corner. It all fits together well, emphasizing the geometric design.

Christophsis, A Planet From Star Wars The Clone Wars

Lego Christophsis, A Planet From Star Wars The Clone Wars

Star Wars and its universe encompass many many planets. Hundreds of them, and if you count the non-canon “Expanded Universe” it might even be thousands. This Lego MOC titled “Christophsis” is the creation of Elven Ranger. It features a Lego version of one of those Star Wars planets. Christophsis was first depicted in The Clone Wars, around 2008. It is located along the Outer Rim and is a planet known or its huge crystalline forests. This little out of the way location ended up being of huge importance, being the site of many battles. The Lego version is a great 16×16 stud scene. The build feature a great hexagonal floor pattern with bricks laid out on their side. The whole scene also contain blue and green crystals which create a very alien looking Lego MOC.
