The City Center, A Cyberpunk 2077 Lego Build

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated video games of the year. The dystopian futuristic setting is a perfect location for Lego creations. The closest we will see Lego get to an official cyberpunk theme is some of the recent Ninjago sets. A dense city, an assault of advertising, wild technology, and the crazy future fashion are what make this an interesting theme. The upcoming game promises a lot of ultra violence, complicated moral choices, and a huge open city. One of the most unique ideas in 2077 is daytime. Usually Cyberpunk is set in the deepest of night. The sun promises to shine a spotlight on everything going on. This Lego MOC is called “Cyberpunk 2077 City Center” and is created by Alex TheLegoFan. Everything is built with Lego, all the printed bricks and stickers are official pieces. This small vignette captures everything that makes Cyberpunk great. There are some real interesting Minifigures walking around, can you identify where each piece comes from? I can spot Widowmaker hair!

One of the best comic book characters from the 80’s and 90’s is Tank Girl. She is famous for all of her adventures across a post-apocolypitic Australia. Not only does she have a tank, but a mutant kangaroo boyfriend, a collection of talking stuffed animals, and a core group of weird friends. New Prime Minister of England Lady Margo Hatchet: The Iron Lady

“The Year is 1872 – England is a battlefield.

From within the smoking hulk of Parliament a woman has (literally) fought her way to the top.

As the New Prime Minister of England Lady Margo Hatchet seeks to quell the rebellious Unions of the North.

The Proletariat are revolting (at least that is what she says), and the “Iron Lady” is intent on once more making Britain ‘Great’ but this time with herself as Commander in Chief and a puppet Monarch to do her rubber stamp her authority. Privilege and Wealth must be restored at all costs.” — Hammerstein NWC

The Iron Lady is the creation of Hammerstein NWC. This lady happens to be loosely based on the real life Margaret Thatcher. This delightfully creative Lego duo is made even better by a fun backstory. After reading the few paragraphs, a whole story and world is imagined where The Iron Lady can make sense. A few of the details here really add to the whole story too. The gigantic fists, chromed swords, power armor all come together perfectly. Margo Hatchet’s robot companion, Goliath, is also ready to stomp out evil. Just don’t tell it that it has been made out of genie lamps, waiting trays, clockwork, and other random Lego parts.

Cyberpocalypse — A Lego Cyberpunk City

Cyberpocalypse is an amazing Lego Cyberpunk city. You can almost imagine Rick Deckard, Case, Hiro Protagonist, Adam Jensen, Akira, or Major Kusanagi hiding out in the streets of Cyberpocalypse. By combining different cultures in this city it helps to capture the urban feel of cyberpunk perfectly. The feeling of overwhelming density, hyper advertising, all mixed with a bit of lawlessness. This is a vision of a future that never came, or a future that is inevitable. Cyberpocalypse proves that Lego and cyberpunk are a perfect match.

This version of Cyberpocalypse stars work from Carter Baldwin, Nate Brill, Kyle Vreze, Forest King, Ignacio Bernaldez, Sam Wormuth, Alex Valentino and Chris Edwards. This team, lead by Carter Baldwin, set out to create a near future version of a metropolis, and succeeded. This city looks great in daylight, but looks even more impressive at night. Using an extensive array of hidden lighting to bring a sense of hustle and bustle to Cyberpocalypse.

Cyberpocalypse has recently been on display at Brickworld 2013. With plans to make an appearance at BrickFair in August. It will be interesting to see where this project goes, as the team is currently planning on adding more to this MOC, and expanding the lighting system too.

Löffelschmitt “Pegasus” Mk III – Steampunk Flying Machine

“As the population of Aurora V grew beyond its floating cities, a successor to the “Pegasus” Mk II was needed that could fly without the aid of gravitational anomalies. After extensive study of the planet’s flying reptiles, the Löffelschmitt company developed its iconic Mk III.

Some owners never adjusted to the new-fangled concept of “wings”, and the increased complexity in cockpit controls led to several crashes, forcing the Auroran government to implement its first pilot certification program (known to historians as the Dampfluftschiffpilotenausbildungsreform). On the plus side, the new concept of “lift” allowed more efficient engines, increased range, and the addition of onboard storage space.”

The Löffelschmitt “Pegasus” Mk III is the creation of Galaktek over at Flickr. This little steampunk flying machine is a masterpiece of design. Looking like something out of the mind of an alternate history Leonardo da Vinci. You can just imagine this thing wobbling and flapping wildly while expelling copious amounts of steam. In other words, a fun ride.

Based off of the Mk II, the Mk III improved on every aspect of the design. With a more balanced design and expanded wings, it almost looks like it could fly in real life.

Steam-Bots: The Steampunk Robot

Little tiny robots are one of the best genres of MOC builds, and when someone changes it up a little it can really stand out. For instance these Steam-Bots don’t look very deadly, but the steampunk robot on the left has a chainsaw for a hand. The choice of color and pieces is really nice, the ice cream for steam and the gold/brown color scheme really helps sell these robots. Hope you didn’t spend all your money on your new top hat and mustache cream, as robot insurance would come in handy here.

Steampunk Steam Temple

Imagine that Howl’s Moving Castle had a little steampunk baby… It would be great to create a stop motion video with this Steam Temple walking around. The black, brown, and gold color scheme is very harmonious.
