The Griggs Industries GARC Racer “High & Mighty” – A Lego Spaceship

Genghis Don's Lego High and Mighty

This is the Griggs Industries GARC Racer “High & Mighty.” A creation of Genghis Don. It is perfect. The yellow and blue colors create a striking spaceship that looks ready to win the space race. It seats two pilots, and features an uncommon vertical design. But, what really sets this MOC apart from the other Lego Spaceships is the massive amount of stickers and/or decals. This is a racer with a whole lot of sponsors, and they want to be seen.

The Force is Strong with these Lego Star Wars Posters

For the 2015 Star Wars Celebration, held in Anaheim California, Lego created a whole series of Lego Star Wars posters. The posters are all recreations of famous Star Wars posters, except in Lego. The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith are based on the theatrical release posters, while A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi are based on the Special Edition release. This collection makes for a great series by avoiding the teaser posters, and the original trilogy theatrical posters. A continuity is presented that just looks awesome. Maybe in the future Lego will revisit this idea and release more Lego Star Wars posters (the original Star Wars poster sure would be appreciated).

These Lego Star Wars posters were given out at the Star Wars Celebration, if you didn’t attend, there are many of these available online at various auction websites (eBay!).

The Lego Lounge is a Basement in a House Designed for Lego

Jeffrey Pelletier Lego House Basement

Finding a place for a Lego collection can be a very difficult task. Every year more and more pieces get added, and eventually (for most of us) they end up in a huge unsorted pile. Slowly consuming a spare room, garage, basement, or office space. Most people never get past the point of sorting their collection into a few drawers and storage containers.

Jeffrey Pelletier, an architect, put his knowledge and skills into creating the perfect space for his Lego collection. His whole house has been designed to accommodate Lego. There are well over 250,000 pieces stored in this collection, and most of them are located in what looks like the most friendly basement ever built. With 9 foot ceilings, a full bar, and a whole room dedicated to building, this is the type of space that adults dream about.

Jeffrey Pelletier Lego House Basement Bar

The whole house is located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, and was originally built in 1902. After an extensive remodel in 2013, the 3,300 square feet house is a great example of how to showcase your love for Lego. The living space features extensive built-in shelving systems, modern furniture, and super colorful walls. Even the Lego Modular buildings have their own space.

MFX [F] – Aztech Deity Reborn. A Golden Lego Mech.

Lu Sim's Lego Mech MFX-F Aztech Deity Reborn

Lego has always been a place to create your own Mechs. Even Lego has been officially releasing Mechs from at least 1984. Although the official bots are usually simple, the MOCs people have been creating are breaking new ground, in detail and awesomeness. Check out this golden masterpiece, the MFX [F] – Aztech Deity Reborn. It is the third version of the Diety created by Lu Sim. This version features a golden body, with black frame. And, if you look close enough, a little bit of red. The other big change is going with a thinner, more “feminine” type mech. This golden god is just awesome.

Lego Kladno Campus 2015 (4000018) – Employee Exclusive

Radek Foukal's Lego Architecture Kladno Campus 2015 4000018 Employee Exclusive

It looks like Lego has released another new exclusive set. This time an employee exclusive version of the Lego Kladno Campus 2015 (4000018). Kladno is a city located in the Czech Republic and is home of a huge Lego factory known as the Kladno Campus. For the 15th anniversary of its opening Lego has created an architecture style set for the employees. Because, of the exlusivieness of this set, you can only find it on Ebay or other market place stores. So far going for about $150-200!

Interestingly, Lego recently released an exclusive set based on this factory, the Lego Kladno Campus 2012. It looks like the facility has grown a lot since then.

Star Wars Celebration Exclusive Lego Set. The Tatooine Mini-Build.

Lego Star Wars, Tatooine Mini Build

Star Wars Celebration is making a whole lot of news this week. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the big Star Wars: The Force Awakens Teaser #2 release, or the Star Wars Battlefront info. Lego has even released a Star Wars Celebration Exclusive set called the Tatooine Mini-Build. It features 178 pieces and 1 C-3PO Minifigure. The set replicates a Moisture Farm (Lars?), a Sandcrawler, a landspeeder, and mini-builds of C-3PO, R2D2, Luke Skywalker (?), and 2 Jawas. The set is pretty charming but there is no attempt at staying in one scale. If you happen to be in Anaheim, and have tickets to the Celebration, make sure to pick up on of these exclusives!
