Forrest Whaley, Sean Willets, Christopher Gearhart are pretty excited for the new Suicide Squad film. They teamed up to recreate the trailer with Lego. It features custom Minifigures, which look great. Almost everything here is built from official Lego pieces. Even the titles have been recreated with digital Lego pieces. Everything comes together into an exciting 42 second trailer. It might even be better than the film.

Lego MOCs come in all shapes and sizes, and some of the most remarkable are the also the largest. This is the Samurai Code; a gigantic MOC created by Ben Pitchfork. Just the cost to build something like this is something to marvel at. Thousands and thousands of Lego pieces make up this huge Japanese volcanic island. This project has a little bit of everything, a huge MOC, a Lego Ideas proposal, and time-lapse video.
Featuring an ancient shrine (or samurai dojo), a huge mountain lake, multiple waterfalls, a volcano, beach, rope bridges, islands, steep cliffs, winding paths, and lots of little secrets. This is a masterpiece.
The best part is the whole thing has been wired up with LEDs. Giving these twin peaks a whole new atmosphere in the dark. The lighting brings out new details, while creating dangerous shadows.
A piece of the Samurai Code has been carefully recreated as a Lego Ideas project. Go vote!

It is just a few days away from the 30th anniversary of the famous Nintendo Metroid franchise. The series hero, Samus Aran, has been consistently busy fighting space pirates and aliens. Even though the recent games have left a scotch mark on her reputation. Lego fan Jared has been creating MOCs for over 2 years based on his favorite Metroid games. This newest one is a recreation of the Parasite Queen boss battle. This is also a great example of how much lighting can effect your creations.
“…as I scrolled through the comments section, I noticed one that speculated how cool it would be if I were to build the Parasite Queen from the intro stages of the same game. Well, that was it, I decided I would do at least one more Metroid Prime build before the anniversary. Suffice to say, I got rather over-ambitious in this build and wasn’t able to really finish it like I had planned, but nonetheless, I hope everyone enjoys it all the same (at least the parasite queen looks awesome, I hope).”

“Our latest project with Frank Ippolito lives at the intersection of creepy and amazing. For this year’s Comic-Con, Frank designed, sculpted, and painted a LEGO-inspired mask, made to look like a real-life version of a minifig. We’re calling it the creeppyfig, and it found its way home wandering through Comic-Con’s exhibit hall.”
The team over at Tested, created a real Lego Minifigure. And, it is amazing. They then walked the convention floor at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con (SDCC). The best part is Frank getting comfortable in the official Lego both. After you get past the beady eyes, and clammy skin.
“In order to enjoy The Great Outdoors in style, you can’t go wrong with a classic 1974 Ford Bronco with swivel seats, wood paneling, and a working winch to pull you out of trouble when nature proves to be tougher than most other vehicles can handle. A canoe strapped to the roof makes this an ideal vehicle for leaving the city life behind for awhile. Remember, next time you’re out enjoying the wilderness, take only photos and leave only footprints. Nature will appreciate it!”

“Lego’s 57-year-old toy empire was built on plastic. But now the giant Danish toy company is investing millions into getting rid of it. By 2030, Lego bricks will no longer be made from ABS, the oil-based plastic in the 60 billion blocks the company makes each year.”
In terms of materials, plastics is still pretty new. Lego was one of the first companies to popularize the space age material way back in the 1960s. Today Lego is on the quest to improve plastic, by finding a new recipe that will use less oil. The first step in their plans is to open a sustainable materials center in 2016, where over 100 employees will research new materials for the company.
The plastic that Lego currently uses is ABS, which is a nice hard plastic that will last for decades. They also use a much softer, and less satisfying plastic for some pieces. It is always a disappointment when a Lego piece is not cast in ABS. That is why it is so important for the company to make this change properly. And, it’s why they need to invent a whole new material to do it.

Feeling a little bummed out that the new Lego Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827) is $349? Don’t worry because you can create a mini headquarters for a whole lot cheaper. The end result is infinitely cuter too.

The upcoming Ghostbusters film is getting its first Lego set. The new Lego Ghostbusters Ecto-1 & Ecto-2 (75828) is ready to go. The set features some awesome new pieces, including more Lego hair. You can never have enough Lego hair. It will be on shelves on July 1st 2016 for $59.99 USD. This puts it at $10 more then the original Lego Ideas set, but you do get 2 additional minifigures. I have a feeling that this set will be right at home in the Firehouse Headquarters.
The set features the Ghostbusters Erin Gilbert, Abby Yates, Jillian Holtzmann, Patty Tolan and Kevin. Plus some sort of red devil.
