There are only a few animated cyberpunk films out there that have reached the critical mass. Akira
David VII, from MOCpages created this little bike, and included a neat Minifigure of Kaneda too. The Lego version of the motorcycle has been built in the Minifigure scale. Kaneda’s Motorcycle is perfectly represented, and looks relatively easy to recreate.

This Thing Actually Works?
Lego just released new details on their newest Lego Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series Sandcrawler (75059). This being an upgrade to the 2005 Lego Sandcrawler (10144). There will be 7 minifigures (Luke Skywalker, Uncle Owen, C-3PO, and 4 Jawas) plus 6 droids (R2-D2, an R2 unit, an R1-series droid, Gonk droid, R5-D4, and the Treadwell droid) included. With a total of 3,296 pieces and a price tag of $299.99. This thing is big.
The final design of the Sandcrawler contains a whole lot of exposed studs. It looks like a lot of SNOT techniques are used to achieve some of the odd angles but Lego opted to not hide the studs. Giving the Sandcrawler a more messy appearance then expected. The final model is almost entirely made up of shades of brown. Keeping with the source material. So if you are looking to rapidly expand your collection of brown bricks, this will be the set for you.
The new Lego Sandcrawler is not just a brown box. The Lego designers have squeezed an impressive amount of features into the design. With 2 fully working cranes, knob based steering, 6+ opening panels, and a whole lot of hidden barrels and storage space. The treads on the Sandcrawler are especially notable and should prove popular with the tank building crowds.

Futurama is one of the greatest television shows of all time. So it is fitting that Futurama has been recreated in one of the greatest Lego displays. Hopefully if the new Lego Simpsons theme takes off Lego will look into creating some Futurama sets. In the mean time you can create your own.
The World of Tomorrow, built by Pepa Quin, is a massive Lego version of New New York from Futurama. The whole project took over 2 years and originally started with the Planet Express all the way back in 2008. Since then the Futurama project has expanded into an 80″ x 60″ layout. Featuring most of the landmark locations from New New York. The World of Tomorrow made its debut at Brickworld 2010 as a part of the Northern Illinois Lego Train Club display.
The Futurama Lego display is based around the Planet Express. Surprisingly, it being the first MOC in the display it has largely remained unchanged. Even the Owl infestation is present in this awesome build.
The iconic Madison Cube Garden has been included. Perfect for Lego concerts, and other live shows.
For Brickworld 2011 the Taco Bellevue Hospital was added to The World of Tomorrow display. Replacing the MomCorp building.
Underneath New New York is the home of the mutants. The sewers (which happen to be the ruins of New York) is a toxic dump with a whole thriving underground city. The home of Leela’s parents and many adventures. If you look closely you might even find some cameos from Star Wars and Harry Potter down here.
All of the main Futurama characters are present. Most of which have been created using custom decals and even some customs modifications.

There are many references to Futurama episodes through out the display. For instance these flying Brains trying to catalog every piece of knowledge before destroying the universe.
Almost all of the Minifigures walking around New New York feature custom faces. Achieved by carefully creating and applying decals to blank Minifig heads.

Science Fiction and the Lego Friends make for a strange combination that works well. Flickr user, colgs3b, has been building a whole series of Hardsuits for the Friends. These mechas appear to be in scale with the other Lego Friends figures. But you wont find them tending horses of farming. Although they may train in Karate during their off time. The first of the Hardsuit Friends is Blacktron Olivia. Using theming elements from the classic Lego Blacktron, Olivia looks like someone you would not want to mess with.
Olivia is not fighting alone. Her mother is also on the front lines wielding a massive gun and a deceptively friendly pink and teal paint scheme.
Hardsuit Stephanie is also present. With a purple and teal and yellow suit. Stephanie appears to be able to fly. Making her extremely dangerous.
When in danger the strongest Hardsuits are needed to hold the front line. Here M-Tron Mia is ready to defend against anything. Make sure to be very careful as her magnet technology is extremely deadly.

The Lego Friends have been finding themselves in all sorts of Lego MOCs lately. Especially in the Space or Science Fiction theme. Bermudafreze, of Flickr, has build this deadly Lego Friends Mech. The Mech features a gatling gun, a massive clamp, missiles and bone crushing treads. In fact the treads are especially nice, built out of ball joint pieces. That idea looks great in this build. This mech unit is ready for whatever is thrown at it.
Panda Troopers.
These Lego Friends inspired cyborgs are the creation of Larry Lars. Who has been refining the robotic body for a few years now. Which has paid off well with these awesome cyborgs. The first one (white, black hair) was created in 2012, while the newest (white, red hair and blue) are from 2013. The compact building style looks extremely delicate, but the end result is worth it. This is a great example of the Lego telephone being put to use. These Lego Friend Cyborgs look like they could fit into a Masamune Shirow manga (Appleseed, Ghost in the Shell).
Lego made a smart move by allowing the Lego Friends figures to fit into the Lego System. This allows the various body parts to be mix and matched with other Lego pieces. The Lego Minifigure style hair can be used on the Friends figures. This greatly expands the available hair styles for your figures. Here the Lego Friends head has been matched with the anime style Minifig hair from the Exo-Force theme.

M.C. Escher created one of the most memorable works of art in 1953, titled Relativity. Since then there have been hundreds of representations of this work by other artists. This Lego Star Wars version of Relativity is the work of Paul Vermeesch. He has created this gravity defying and perspective distorting work completely out of Lego. It is completely seamless and the SNOT techniques used here are flawless. In fact, I don’t think there is one errant stud present. Lego Star Wars Relativity sums up the original Trilogy in roughly six scenes. The puzzling nature of this is amazing.

The recent Back to the Future Lego set had an embarrassing spelling error in its first few production runs. The Flux Capacitor reads “SHEILD EYES FROM LIGHT.” Lego knew early on about this misspelling but didn’t have an official solution to the problem. They did state that future production runs would be corrected, and that other solutions were being looked into. As of a few days ago, Lego has officially announced a replacement program. You can now get a corrected “SHIELD EYES FROM LIGHT” replacement brick by contacting Lego customer service. This is a great response from Lego!
The good news for all the early buyers, is that they will have both versions of the Flux Capacitor.
