There’s Always Money in the Lego Banana Stand

Bruce Lowell's Arrested Development, Lego Banana Stand

There are many iconic locations from the TV show Arrested Development, but none are as famous as the Bluth’s Original Frozen Banana Stand. This great little MOC features some extremely nice custom stickers. The SNOT building used to get the shape of the Banana Stand is amazingly complicated. And, best of all there looks to be enough room for a George Michael or Maeby Fünke. The tight space will certainly create some awkward situations. This thing is so accurate that I have a feeling there might even be Lego money lining the walls of the Banana Stand.

Lego Military Troopers: X78, X78/B, and X79

Devid VII's Lego Military Troopers X78

This Military Crew consists of the X78, the X78/B and the X79. These guys are sporting some of the best power armor out there. The X78 is a larger hard suit, perfect for tanking, that accommodates a Minifigure sitting down. Outfitted with a large rifle this guy is ready to fight. The X79 is the smaller armor, which makes it much more nimble. This power armor comes with rocket launchers and an automatic weapon. Finally the X78/B is an alternate version of the X78. This time accommodating a standing position, and a little bit more armor. These three Military Troopers are the work of Devid VII. Who shows off some excellent Minifigure scale building techniques. Check out how the standard legs are removed and the power armor is incorporated into the torso. Allowing a more realistic appearance (knees!)

The Anatomy of a Tiny Lego Man

Freeny's Tiny Lego Man Anatomy Sculpt

This Tiny Lego Man Anatomy Study measures just 2.75 inches tall. The whole thing is even hand painted, including all the of the smallest details. Not only is there one finished Minifigure sculpt, but if you look into the background you can see another one being created. These little Lego Men are amazingly cool.

Say “I do” With This New Lego Marriage Proposal / Valentines Day Set (41020)

Lego Valentines Day Marriage Proposal 40120

A new Lego set is coming just in time for Valentines Day. This new set is a couple of Minifigures having a romantic dinner. But before dinner is served a surprise marriage proposal takes place. This is an interesting set as it can serve two purposes. First, it is a pretty sweet Valentines Day set. Second, it is a romantic engagement set. A sort of companion to the Lego Wedding Set (853340). This little vignette comes with some fun Lego pieces too, the heart gem, pink cupcake piece, and even two fezzes. To top it all off there are two extremely happy Lego Minifigs.

Lego Science Adventures

Alatariel's Lego Science Adventures

Lego Science Adventures is a sort of pseudo sequel to the super popular Research Institute (21110). That set is famous for making it through the Lego Ideas (CUUSOO) system in record time and then completely selling out in its first week of release. The Research Institute featured a Paleontologist, Astronomer, and Chemist. The Science Adventures focuses on jobs in the great outdoors. Featuring a Biologist, Geologist, and Archaeologist. There are some super awesome details included in these tiny vignettes. Such as a cute and deadly Tiger, an ancient human skeleton buried with its treasure, and a hidden gold vein. These three Minifigures would make a fine addition to a Lego city setup.

“Geologist Dr. Coyman is examining an unusual rock formation. Some work with the rock hammer is needed to find out what is inside!

Biologist Dr. Miller is hiding behind a nearby bush when a thirsty Siberian tiger shows up to drink from a puddle of water. A perfect opportunity to study its behavior up-close!

Archaeologist Dr. Yates made an extremely interesting historical find of a fully preserved skeleton and real gold coins. Will this provide the final clue in understanding the ways of the ancient people who lived here?”

A Vibrant Lego Gingerbread House

Parks and Wrecked Creations, Lego Gingerbread House, Modular Building

Are you looking to decorate your Lego Modular Building collection for the holidays? Do you need a place for Mr. and Mrs. Claus to live? Then this Lego Gingerbread House will interest you. Created by Parks and Wrecked Creations, this Lego Modular Gingerbread House is a work of art. It is one of the most colorful Modular Buildings out there. The roof alone is tiled with 2×2 round pieces in six colors. With domes being used for accents. The use of the printed spiral pieces, the multicolor giant flowers, and the newish star pieces are excellent details. Seen from a distance it would be easy to mistake this for a real Gingerbread House covered in frosting and candy. Just make sure you don’t take a bite out of this one.

Fight For Your Life In “The Last Chance”

Devid VII's Lego The Last Chance

“There are some moments that cannot be explained, S.G. soldiers are in a trap, maybe they will try to go for broke..…” — Devid VII

This scene, called “The Last Chance”, looks like it came straight out of a video game. Something like Advanced Warfare or Titanfall. In the last decade or so, Lego has really made it easy to create Minifigure scale mechs, robots, and hard suits. All of the newish pieces, and bricks that clip, and fit into small spaces are perfect for this type of MOC. Check out those tan Minifig arms holding up the cage, or the nozzle pieces bing used in multiple places. These hard suits are ready for a fight, which they are going to get. Check out the 3 well armed guys around the corner of the ruined building. It is this building that tells most of the story. The overgrown plants, crumbling walls and caved in roof all hint at a completely ruined battlefield. This is the end, and the defenders are going to go down fighting.

Lego Collectable Minifigures Series 13 (71008) Review by WhiteFang

WhiteFang Lego Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Review

Lego is on a roll with their Collectable Minifigures. The newest Lego Collectable Minifigures Series 13 (71008) has a release date of January 2015. Which means you can probably expect a few retailers to sell them at the end of December. So, make sure to save up your Christmas money because there are a lot of great figures. Series 13 continues the trend of extremely detailed Minifigs, while increasing the quality. These figures are still made in China but a lot of the production problems of the past have been worked out (slightly off colors, tight or loose connections, etc.).  Interestingly, there is also some sort of code/contest thing going on with each figure. The only bad news is that these are at the, now permanent, price point of $3.99. Although some retailers (notably Target) may be selling them at $2.99.

Lego has made a few breakthroughs in Lego Minifigures during the Collectable Minifig theme. This time around there seems to be a breakthrough in cloth capes. Featuring multi-piece capes with color printing! Whoa!

WhiteFang Lego Collectable Minifigures Series 13, King and Wizard

As has been the case for the past few years Lego reviewer WhiteFang has received a full set of Collectible Minifigures early. This allows WhiteFang to be the definitive source for Minifigure reviews. Check out the full Series 13 review over on Eurobricks, it features part analysis, detailed photos, and commentary about the latest release. A full box of Minifigs will include rare, uncommon, and common figures. The common Minifigures include the Goblin, Carpenter, and Galaxy Trooper at 5 each per box. The uncommon ones include the Classic King, Sheriff, Snake Charmer, Alien Trooper, Egyptian Warrior, Evil Wizard at 4 per box. The hardest to find, rare, Minifigs will be the Unicorn Girl, Paleontologist, Fencer, Samurai, Disco Diva, Hot Dog Man, and Lady Cyclops at 3 per box.
