Lego Venice Architecture MOC, Santa Maria della Salute

Markus's Lego Architecture Santa Maria Della Salute, Venice

There is an almost endless list of historical important buildings that could go through the Lego Architecture system. A lot of people are inspired by these landmarks and the Architecture theme; then go and build their own. Markus created an awesome MOC based on the Santa Maria della Salute in Venice Italy. A baroque style Roman Catholic church with an iconic dome. Considering its scale, this Lego Santa Maria della Salute is about as accurate as you can get to the real thing. Markus even won a nomination from the recent Brickworld 2015 for Best Small Building.

The Cake Is A Lie. Lego Dimensions Portal E3 Trailer.

Lego Dimensions Portal Trailer E3

The Cake may be a lie, but this newest trailer is not. During E3, a new Lego Dimensions Portal trailer was released featuring a whole bunch of GLaDOS, Chell, and even a little bit of Wheatley. The gameplay is looking good. With a lot of Portal Gun mechanics being shown off. It looks like other Dimensions characters will be able to play in the Portal levels, including Batman, Homer Simpson, and Gandalf. It is not clear if you can take things like the Portal Gun into the other non-Portal levels. Which, if possible, opens up a whole lot of complicated stuff. Check out the full trailer below, it is pretty entertaining…

Lego Promoting Unrealistic Body Image

From thedailymash, Lego ‘promoting unrealistic body image’:

“LEGO has been accused of making children covet unattainable squat, yellow bodies with c-shaped hooks for hands.

The Danish toy company was branded ‘dangerous’ and ‘irresponsible’ by a government watchdog, following complaints about the unrealistic physical standards its figures display.

Mother-of-two Donna Sheridan said: “My youngest son turned to me yesterday and said, ‘Mummy, I hope I grow up to look like a Lego man…”

An Adorable Lego Mickey Mouse

alanboar's Lego Mickey Mouse

Lego has been making Disney related stuff for a while now. Toy Story, Princesses, Star Wars, Marvel Super Heroes, etc. But, they have never made anything with Disney’s iconic animated mascots. No Mickey Mouse, no Donald Duck, no Goofy. That might change in the future, but for now Lego and Disney fans must create their own. This Lego Mickey Mouse figure is the creation of Alanboar, who built Mickey for his son. It features a very animated pose, and is amazingly expressive for a brick built figure. The massive feet, and the mouse tail are some of the highlights. This MOC is spot on. Just check out the silhouette of Mickey Mouse. The round design of Mickey has been preserved well, especially considering the use of basic bricks here.

A Lego Kids Room Full Of Toys, Stuff, And Fun

Cesar Soares's Lego Kids Room

Lego rooms are quickly becoming a popular theme in the MOC world (here). The newest room is the creation of César Soares. What separates this Lego Kids Room from the others is the massive amount of decoration. There are Lego built posters, trophies, books, book ends, mini Lego models, a telescope, train, boat, etc. There is even a Lego built rug in the center, which is an ingenious solution, using texture to create a quilted pattern. This MOC is a good representation of the “ideal” boys room. This whole thing is rad. The poster with the green Lego alien is an especially good detail.

Cesar Soares's Lego Kids Room Detail 01

“This was made a few weeks ago but I was waiting for some modulex. Today I was able to get some and took some quick shots of the MOC.

It represents a kid’s room, based on my own childhood room, with some doodles hanged on the walls, lots of toys on the floor, lots of comics and a real mess :)

My favorite parts are the mini Imperial Shuttle and the flowers pot hanged next to the window. What’s yours (if any!)? :)

Hope you like it!” — César Soares

A Lego Nerf N-Strike Maverick

Nathan Proudlove's Lego Nerf Maverick

One of the most popular Nerf guns ever relasesed is the Nerf N-Strike Maverick. It dominates work spaces, parks, and back yards all around the world. So it should be no surprise to see a Lego version of the gun. What is a surprise though, is just how accurate this thing is. This Lego Nerf Maverick is the creation of Nathan Proudlove. Who, used the silver version as inspiration (here). The iconic gun cylinder is an ingenious build, and the trigger is just tempting to be pulled. Too bad it doesn’t look like it shoots the Lego darts.

Lego Ideas WallE Box 21303

The upcoming Lego Wall-E set has been leaked. It looks like a retailer uploaded some official artwork to their web store a little bit early, allowing us a sneak peak. The Lego Ideas #012, Wall-E (21303) will be released this summer, with a price point around $40-50. No one is sure yet on the final pricing, other then the Smyths Website is selling it for €57.99, which is most certainly marked up. Also according to the product listing this little robot will feature:

  • Flexible head and hands can open/close
  • Rotating wheels with tracks
  • Opening torso compartment

This little robot also comes with a small plant, and a mini version of the roach named Hal. Interestingly, instead of the fancy black boxes the Lego Ideas theme usually come packaged in, this one has a beautifully yellow design. Keep an eye out for more details, usually when a leak like this happens Lego is quick to officially release more information.

The Lego Witcher

Letranger Absurde Lego Witcher

For being about 100 years old and made up of Lego, Geralt of Rivia has never looked so good. This Lego Witcher is built by Letranger Absurde. This SNOT style figure uses a lot of weird techniques to bring this video game character to life. Even some of the more obscure details are present, the necklace, sword hilts, and the various pouches. Once someone figures out how to get hairworks working in Lego, Geralt will look even better.
