When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth – Lego Jurassic Park Visitor Center

LDiEgo's Lego Jurassic Park Visitor Center

LDiEgo has created a new Lego Ideas project for a massive Jurassic Park Visitor Center. Lego is currently creating Jurassic Park World sets, but haven’t released anything from the previous 3 movies. It seems a project like this would be a perfect fit for Lego Ideas, which seems to have a soft spot for popular films. A few project have been proposed, but there has been no word on them from Lego (here).

LDiEgo's Lego Jurassic Park Visitor Center Modular

This modular style Lego Jurassic Park Visitor Center would be 2,623 pieces. Which is way more then any previous Lego Ideas release has contained. The whole complex features the Main Entrance Hall, “Les Gigantes” restaurant, a Kitchen, a Dinning Room, an Emergency Bunker, a Showcase Theater, a Control Room and a Genetics Lab. Also proposed are two dinosaur skeletons, the Tyrannosaurus Rex and a Sauropod. There would be one Raptor included, named “Clever Girl.” Plus six Minifigures: John Hammond, Tim Murphy, Lex Murphy, Donald Gennaro, Ray Arnold, and Robert Muldoon.

Lego Ideas Third 2014 Review (#013) Revealed

Lego Ideas 2014 Review

The latest Lego Ideas Review (Third 2014, #013) has been officially revealed. The next Ideas set will be the Marble Maze. This set will feature a fully working marble labyrinth. The kind with two knobs, marbles, and pitfalls all wrapped up in a wooden box (in this case a Lego box). However the final model will be designed, it will be featuring a good amount of technic building, which Lego Ideas hasn’t used too much.

The other proposed sets that didn’t make the cut in this review included the Avengers Helicarrier, The Goonies Inferno Pirate Ship, The Natural History Museum, The Lord of the Rings Minas Tirith, Jurassic Park Gate, a Piano, and the Flying Dutchman. No reasons for the denial were given. Lego did leave us with a little surprise, saying that they were still considering the F7A Hornet from the video game Star Citizen. Check out the full video below.

Hold on to your butts. There is a Lego Jurassic Park project.

senteosan's Lego Jurassic Park
There is a Jurassic Park themed project over on Lego Ideas. The good news is that there is a good chance that this will happen. Lego had a ban on Jurassic Park themed submissions due to licensing conflicts. The key word is “had.” As of October 2014, Lego has officially lifted that ban. They would not go out of their way to let us know this information for no reason. The project with the best prospects is titled “Jurassic Park” and is the creation of senteosan. This is an incredibly sleek project that hits all the most famous icons from the film. The massive gates, the jeep, a T. rex, and 3 of the main characters. The only thing missing is a Lego John Hammond, which if included would be an instant buy.

senteosan's Lego Jurassic Park Overhead

“The Jurassic Park Gate is a famous trademark of the Jurassic Park Series. It first appeared in the first movie 1993 when the tour cars entered the Park and it is definitely one of the most iconic scenes in motion picture history. Now recreated in Lego form too – ohh, with some extra spice…

I got this idea right before 3D version of first film hit theaters on April 2013. I used a tremendous amount of time drafting models again and again, making sure that all propositions are right and each component looking as realistic as possible. I have always thought this as a display piece, like UCS -style eye catcher but there certainly is a lot play value here too.

So if you’re a Jurassic Park fan please add your support to this project. Thanks!” — senteosan
