A Lego MOC Star Fighter, The Kanalia

Eric Teo Lego MOC Star Fighter, The Kanalia

“The Kanalia” is a sleek and open star fighter. Piloted by Himura Satoichi. This Lego MOC has one of the most interesting cockpits. This openness has been achieved by combining three separate canopies. The ship is outfitted with multiple guns, and looks like it could hold its own in a fight. With a striking yellow and grey color scheme. The Kanalia stands out. It is also great to see landing gear.

Samus Vs Parasite Queen. A Lego Metroid Battle.

Jared Lego Metroid Parasite Queen Battle

It is just a few days away from the 30th anniversary of the famous Nintendo Metroid franchise. The series hero, Samus Aran, has been consistently busy fighting space pirates and aliens. Even though the recent games have left a scotch mark on her reputation. Lego fan Jared has been creating MOCs for over 2 years based on his favorite Metroid games. This newest one is a recreation of the Parasite Queen boss battle. This is also a great example of how much lighting can effect your creations.

“…as I scrolled through the comments section, I noticed one that speculated how cool it would be if I were to build the Parasite Queen from the intro stages of the same game. Well, that was it, I decided I would do at least one more Metroid Prime build before the anniversary. Suffice to say, I got rather over-ambitious in this build and wasn’t able to really finish it like I had planned, but nonetheless, I hope everyone enjoys it all the same (at least the parasite queen looks awesome, I hope).”

Wall-E Will Be Cleaning Up Your Lego Mess Soon (21303)

Lego Ideas WallE Box 21303

The upcoming Lego Wall-E set has been leaked. It looks like a retailer uploaded some official artwork to their web store a little bit early, allowing us a sneak peak. The Lego Ideas #012, Wall-E (21303) will be released this summer, with a price point around $40-50. No one is sure yet on the final pricing, other then the Smyths Website is selling it for €57.99, which is most certainly marked up. Also according to the product listing this little robot will feature:

  • Flexible head and hands can open/close
  • Rotating wheels with tracks
  • Opening torso compartment

This little robot also comes with a small plant, and a mini version of the roach named Hal. Interestingly, instead of the fancy black boxes the Lego Ideas theme usually come packaged in, this one has a beautifully yellow design. Keep an eye out for more details, usually when a leak like this happens Lego is quick to officially release more information.

The Griggs Industries GARC Racer “High & Mighty” – A Lego Spaceship

Genghis Don's Lego High and Mighty

This is the Griggs Industries GARC Racer “High & Mighty.” A creation of Genghis Don. It is perfect. The yellow and blue colors create a striking spaceship that looks ready to win the space race. It seats two pilots, and features an uncommon vertical design. But, what really sets this MOC apart from the other Lego Spaceships is the massive amount of stickers and/or decals. This is a racer with a whole lot of sponsors, and they want to be seen.

MFX [F] – Aztech Deity Reborn. A Golden Lego Mech.

Lu Sim's Lego Mech MFX-F Aztech Deity Reborn

Lego has always been a place to create your own Mechs. Even Lego has been officially releasing Mechs from at least 1984. Although the official bots are usually simple, the MOCs people have been creating are breaking new ground, in detail and awesomeness. Check out this golden masterpiece, the MFX [F] – Aztech Deity Reborn. It is the third version of the Diety created by Lu Sim. This version features a golden body, with black frame. And, if you look close enough, a little bit of red. The other big change is going with a thinner, more “feminine” type mech. This golden god is just awesome.

These Lego Hedgeman Legionaries Are Adorable

KarfOohlu's Lego Hedgeman Legionaries

When they are not running super fast Hedgehogs are also conquering space. These Lego Hedgeman Legionaries consist of a Standard Bearer and Shockgun Trooper. An amazingly awesome combo of the Rock Monster Body (from the Power Miners theme) and the recent Hedgehog (from Lego Friends). It is also worth taking a closer look at the Banner, the combination of the scorpion and wing works well, as does the purple Lego purse in the Shockgun.

The Lego Y-3 Walker Mech and Pilot is Crazy Good

nobu_tary's Lego Walker Mech Y-3 Pilot

This is the Y-3 Walker Mech and it’s Pilot.  It looks like it has been built out of broken machinery, but it is completely made up of Lego. This creation could fit in perfectly with the world of Mad Max. Scavenging the desert waste lands, looking for any oil or scrap. The unnamed Pilot is the real star of this show. Using a variety of obscure Lego pieces, Minifigure accessories, and inventive SNOT techniques, this guy (or gal) looks more organic then most Lego figures. The gas mask is an especially nice build, as is the use of the old Technic gears for the boot cuffs. The other little details are fun too, communicating that this Pilot is a collector of some sort.

nobu_tary's Lego Walker Mech Y-3

A crazy Pilot must have a crazy vehicle. The Walker Mech Y-3 is a chicken style walker barely big enough to carry one person. It has been outfitted with a luxurious orange bucket seat. The whole thing seems to mainly serve as a place to store knick knacks. Check out the boombox, coffee mug, road signs, and even Mia’s signature. This thing is full of awesome detail.

The Epsilon Dynamics Auriga MK III: A Lego Speeder

Jerac's Lego Auriga MK III Speeder

The Epsilon Dynamics Auriga MK III is a thing of beauty. This is an example of what can be done with Lego. You will not build something like this with an official set. These smooth curves are everything Lego is not. Plus there are only a few stray studs exposed, making this a perfect example of SNOT building. The yellow and black is a tough color combo to work with when trying to look futuristic/sleek. It is hard to see in these photos but the interior is a sporty red. The Auriga MK III speeder is the creation of Jerac. The whole project took about 3 hours to build, and was part of one-evening build challenge. There also seems to be a story forming with the MK III, you can see that a MK I and MK II have also been built. Amazingly each version looks like a logical leap in technology.

“Here shown with its older brethren. I tried to continue with “trademark features” – namely split cockpit, red interior and wider back housing pair of engines.”

The Lego Time Machine

Carl Merriam's Lego The Time Machine

Everyone would want a Time Machine. Imagine what you could do with one. Carl Merriam built his own, which is inspired by the classic H.G. Wells novel titled The Time Machine. The novel was first published back in 1895, an important note as at the time the wooden and brass styling was considered futuristic. Now this style is more often associated with Steam Punk, which that is based on old science fiction novels. The red, brown and gold colors here work extremely well, and the blue highlights pop out in a good way. Lego sure has come a long way, something like this would have been impossible to build 10 years ago. As color and part choice was completely different a decade ago. You would have needed a Time Machine in order to build this.  Just watch out for Morlocks.

Lego Bender On A Bender

Sean and Steph Mayo's Lego Futurama, A Saturday Bender

Futurama is one of the best TV shows ever made, and it’s no wonder that some truly epic MOCs have been created. But none are as cute as this Lego Bender. This little robot is featured in a creation titled “A Saturday Bender.” This vignette features the little robot doing what he does best. Getting completely plastered while watching Saturday morning cartoons. The use of the Lego flexible tubes and some creative part use makes this the cutest Bender Bending Rodríguez ever. Also check out that retro futuristic television.
