Lego Friends Corner, A Downtown Bakery and Pastry Shop

Hartinih Liauw's Lego Friends Corner

What happens when you combine the Lego Friends Downtown Bakery (41006) with the famous Lego Cafe Corner (10182)? You get a Lego Friends Corner. The ground floor hosts an extremely popular bakery and pastry shop. Up to the second floor is a hip pet hair salon, where all the super cute dogs and cats go to get groomed. Then on to the rooftop is an outdoor area and garden for your pets. Which includes a tiny birdhouse, a dog bath, water fountain, and a peaceful garden. This modular style building also includes bicycle parking and a large outdoor patio.

The Corner proves to be so popular that a few special guests are visiting, and enjoying their bakery treats. Including Iron Man!

Lego Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 (2015) Leaked Images

Lego Simpsons Series 2, Groundskeeper Willie, Production

There have been strong rumors going around that Lego was in production of a Series 2 for the Lego Simpsons Minifigures. There might also be a new Lego Kwik-E-Mart set in production. One of these rumors can now be confirmed. The Lego Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 will be released in 2015, and a few images of their production models have been leaked. No one was sure if the Lego Simpsons Minifigures would make it to Series 2, which was dependent on fan reception and sales of Series 1.

Lego Simpsons Series 2, Dr Hibbert, Production

It looks like The Simpsons theme is a success, and we can probably expect a few more releases in the future. Series 1 left a lot of gaps in The Simpsons character roster. Lego must have a hard time trying to select Minifigs out of the hundreds of characters from The Simpsons. Groundskeeper Willie, Dr. Hibbert, and Santa’s Little Helper will be in Series 2. Hopefully we can get a Moe Sizlack, Waylon Smithers, Carl Carlson, Lenny Leonard, Sideshow Bob, Mayor Quimby… the list goes on and on.

Lego Minifigures (71004) The Lego Movie Series Reviewed by WhiteFang

WhiteFang's Lego Minifigures, The Lego Movie Series Box

The new Lego Minifigures (71004) The Lego Movie Series is about to hit store shelves. WhiteFang has done a full detailed photo review over on Eurobricks. This new series is a slight departure from the normal Lego Collectible Minifigures. This is the first series to focus on one theme. Here it is the upcoming Lego Movie. It has been assumed that this would be Series 12 of these Minifigs, but there is no mention of a series number anywhere on the packaging. Instead Lego has made slight design changes to call it “The Lego Movie.” WhiteFang notes that we won’t be able to get a definitive answer on the nomenclature until the either Series 12 or Series 13 shows up. And, who knows where the upcoming Simpsons Minifigures will fit in.

WhiteFang's Lego Minifigures, The Lego Movie Series

The Lego Movie Series contains a whole lot of personality. The Lego heads (faces) are all new, with a wide variety of happy and angry expressions. Combined with some of the new hair pieces means that this set will blend in well with other Lego minifigures. It looks like Emmet, President Business, Scribble-Face Bad Cop, and the Panda Guy are the common minifies this time around. With Calamity Drone, Mrs. Scratchen-Post, William Shakespeare, Gail the Construction Worker, Velma Staplebot, and Marsha the Queen of the Mermaids being the rare figures.

This series contains 16 minifigures: Calamity Drone, Gail the Construction Worker, Abraham Lincoln, Larry the Barista, Panda Guy, Velma Staplebot, William Shakespeare, Taco Tuesday Guy, “Where are my pants?” Guy, Wiley Fusebot, President Buisness, Wild West Wyldstyle, Hard Had Emmet, Scribbe-Face Bad Cop, Mrs. Scratchen-Post, and Marsha the Queen of the Mermaids.

Lego Minifigures Series 11 Reviewed by WhiteFang @ Eurobricks

WhiteFang's Lego Minifigures Series 11 Review Box

The new Lego Minifigures Series 11 is just starting to show up in stores. The packaging color will be a deep green, which matches the “holiday” theming of this series. At least three of the minifigs have a winter theme, including the Gingerbread Man, Yeti, and Holiday Elf. It looks like Series 11 is another great release. Although the distribution may cause the more desired minifigures in this set to be rare or uncommon.

WhiteFang's Lego Minifigures Series 11 Review

WhiteFang, over on Eurobricks, has written up the definitive review. Every few months another Minifig Series is released and WhiteFang is there with an extremely detailed writeup. These figures have proven to be some of the most interesting that Lego produces. The sheer amount of new parts and detailed printing separates these from the normal minifigures from the other Lego sets.

“To me, this series remain a huge importance in the LEGO history and affirming my belief that all of these minifigures in the past, present and future series will continue to be regarded as part of the ‘Golden Age’ for the LEGO CMFs theme.”

The bad news for Series 11 is that the distribution is not at all friendly for the collector. The rarest figures are the most desired, Scarecrow, Tiki Warrior, Grandma, Jazz Musician, Bavarian Lady, and Dinner Waitress. This means that if picking out these figures from an opened box, the chances of finding these are extremely low. There are only two complete sets per box. Lets hope you like the Rock Climber, Welder, Constable, or Yeti as these are probably the minifigures you will find.
