An Adorable Lego Mickey Mouse

alanboar's Lego Mickey Mouse

Lego has been making Disney related stuff for a while now. Toy Story, Princesses, Star Wars, Marvel Super Heroes, etc. But, they have never made anything with Disney’s iconic animated mascots. No Mickey Mouse, no Donald Duck, no Goofy. That might change in the future, but for now Lego and Disney fans must create their own. This Lego Mickey Mouse figure is the creation of Alanboar, who built Mickey for his son. It features a very animated pose, and is amazingly expressive for a brick built figure. The massive feet, and the mouse tail are some of the highlights. This MOC is spot on. Just check out the silhouette of Mickey Mouse. The round design of Mickey has been preserved well, especially considering the use of basic bricks here.

Wall-E Will Be Cleaning Up Your Lego Mess Soon (21303)

Lego Ideas WallE Box 21303

The upcoming Lego Wall-E set has been leaked. It looks like a retailer uploaded some official artwork to their web store a little bit early, allowing us a sneak peak. The Lego Ideas #012, Wall-E (21303) will be released this summer, with a price point around $40-50. No one is sure yet on the final pricing, other then the Smyths Website is selling it for €57.99, which is most certainly marked up. Also according to the product listing this little robot will feature:

  • Flexible head and hands can open/close
  • Rotating wheels with tracks
  • Opening torso compartment

This little robot also comes with a small plant, and a mini version of the roach named Hal. Interestingly, instead of the fancy black boxes the Lego Ideas theme usually come packaged in, this one has a beautifully yellow design. Keep an eye out for more details, usually when a leak like this happens Lego is quick to officially release more information.

Lego Frozen: Elsa’s Sparkling Ice Castle (41062) Review

Lego Frozen: Elsa's Sparkling Ice Castle 41062 Box Reviewed, mostlytechnic

Lego has the ability to make and sell Disney Frozen themed sets, and yet they only have one release so far. It seems that anything with the Frozen logo is instantly popular, and sells out in no time. This theme is a license to print money. The first Lego set is called Elsa’s Sparkling Ice Castle (41062), it is $39.99 and has 292 pieces. There are also three exclusive figures: Elsa, Anna, and Olaf. The piece to part ratio is extremely high, making this one of the more expensive sets for what you get. So is the Frozen Castle worth it? Check out the full review, by mostlytechnic, over on Eurobricks: here.

The full set is actually a bit different then what you would expect. The design of the castle does not reflect what is in the film, and is a weird white and transparent blue. This is more of a Frozen mountain then a castle. But, for most people that won’t matter, because the figures are what they want. And, Lego really went all out. The resemblance to their movie counterpart is extremely close for Lego figures. Elsa and Anna look good in Lego. Olaf looks good, but is not as special.

This is Halloween… The Nightmare Before Christmas Lego, Jack Skellington

Carl Merriams The Nightmare Before Christmas Lego, Jack Skellington

“This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Pumpkins scream in the dead of night”

Jack Skellington, from The Nightmare Before Christmas, is one of the most instantly recognizable characters. His spider like arms and legs, the skeletal frame, and ghostly face make Jack an incredibly difficult character to translate into Lego. Here, Carl Merriam has created his own version of Jack Skellington in Lego. The scale of this figure will dwarf a normal minifigure. Those limbs make it so hard for Jack Skellington to stand up on his own, but the technic bricks seem to holding. Seeing this MOC of Jack Skellington just makes you want to see more Nightmare Before Christmas Lego.
