“The greatest Lego hero ever!” – The Lego Newspaper

The Lego Newspaper, The Greatest Lego Hero Ever

Have you ever tried to read the text on the current Lego Newspaper (4655208)? It is almost illegible but if you squint, you can maybe make out 90% of it. Reddit user PeterM76 wrote to Lego and got an official response, revealing the full text. Check it out:

“The greatest LEGO hero ever!

The LEGO news interviewed the hero after helping the old man. It was a quiet afternoon in the LEGO City. The minifigure hero walked through the streets and heard the old man shouting for help. Like every other minifigure the old man tried to protect the world against evil. He just forgot that he was old and not that fast anymore. After running through many streets the evil monster of the universe captured the old man and lifted him up in a tree. The LEGO hero ran when he heard the shouting, captured the villain and saved the old man in the tree. He only had one comment “I will do whatever it takes to save minifigures” ” Journalist: Annemette”

The Lego Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 (71009) Reviewed Early!

WhiteFang's Lego The Simpsons Series 2 Review

Ay caramba! The Lego Simpsons Series 2 Minifigures was just officially announced (here), and an early review is already up. WhiteFang of Eurobricks got ahold of these new Minifigs months early, and wrote up a full review. There is no need to read any other reviews, WhiteFang is the definitive source for the Collectible Minifigure reviews. The whole set is made of 16 figures, 10 of which are new characters, and 6 are variants from Series 1. The Lego Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 should be showing up in stores around May 2015, at the $3.99 price point. But, keep an eye out, these usually pop up a week or two early in some locations.

WhiteFang's Lego The Simpsons Series 2 Review Packs

The Series 2 Minifigures packaging is yellow and blue this time around. Not to be confused with Series 1. Interestingly Lego didn’t go with an unique color.

WhiteFang's Lego Simpsons Series 2 Review Minifigures

If you find a box, or purchase a box you are looking at least 3 full sets of the Lego Simpsons Minifigures Series 2. The most common Minifigs are Homer is his Suit, Bartman, and Groundskeeper Willie. The uncommon figures this time are Marge in Fancy Dress, Lisa & Snowball II, Maggie & Santa’s Little Helper, Fallout Boy, Doctor Hibbert, and Waylon Smithers. The hardest to find and rare Minifigures this time around include Comic Book Guy, Martin Prince, Professor Frink, Hans Moleman, Selma Bouvier, Patty Bouvier, and Edna Krabappel.WhiteFang's Lego Simpsons Series 2 Review Fallout Boy

The Lego Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart (71016) Official Reveal and Details

Lego The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart 71016 Box

Lego has officially announced The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart (71016). It was not long ago the box art leaked, and now there are more then enough photos of this wonderful set. The release will include 6 Minifigures: Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, Bart Simpson, Homer Simpson, Marge Simpson, Police Chief Wiggum Clancy, and Snake Jailbird. Snake is exclusive to this set, and Apu features a new clothing. Someone who works for Lego is a Simpsons fan, notice that they fit Apu’s full name on the box: Apu Nahasapeemapetilon. Wow.

Lego The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart 71016 Set

The Kwik-E-Mart playset will include 2,179 pieces and retails for $199.99. The same price point as the Lego Simpsons House. (Reviewed here) The whole set is jam packed full of details. There is a Squishee machine, magazine and newspaper rack, full stocked shelving, fully stocked freezers, a frozen Jasper (sticker?), an ATM, security cameras, the list goes on and on. They even included the secret garden on the rooftop, where Apu goes to for refuge from the modern world.

Lego The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart 71016 Jasper

This set is looking like a must buy for Simpsons fans, and probably Lego fans too. There is an abundance of color, and rare shades, all over the Kwik-E-Mart. Or, as Lego says the “store is packed with more rich, colorful details than a Mr. Burns birthday cake has candles!” The first thing I will be doing is adding Milhouse to the display and recreating the famous all-syrup Super Squishy bender (here). Lets go crazy broadway style!

Lego Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 (71009) Official Reveal

Lego Simpsons Minifigures Series 2

Lego has officially revealed Series 2 of the Lego Simpsons Minifigures (71009). The announcement confirms the earlier leaked production images. It looks like this series will be filling in the cast with some of the most obvious omissions from Series 1. We have Groundskeeper Willie, Martin Price, Professor Frink, Doctor Hibbert, Patty Bouvier, Selma Bouvier, Waylon Smithers, Hans Moleman, Comic Book Guy, and Edna Krabappel. The remaining six Minifigs are recolors and variants of previously released figures. There is Fallout Boy, Bartman, Maggie Simpson, Marge Simpson, Homer Simpson, and Lisa Simpson.

Lego The Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 Bartman and Fallout Boy

The Lego Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 is an interesting set. Most of the figures come with unique accessories, usually some sort of printed tile. The best accessories are the Simpsons pets, Santa’s Little Helper and Snowball II. Hopefully there will be a Series 3 in the future. It would be awesome to get some of the bullies, Doctor Nick, or even Moe.

The Simpsons Lego Minifigures Series 2 (71009) should be hitting shelves around May. These will be available at the $3.99 price point. D’oh.

The Lego Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart Leaked?

jcbricks's Lego Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart Leaked

It looks like the next Lego Simpsons set has been leaked. The Kwik-E-Mart (71016) first showed up on jcbricks‘s Instagram, and was mirrored over on lego_sid‘s account. The photo seems to be showing a cropped and poorly photographed box from the new set. It looks like Apu, Marge, Police Chief Wiggum, and Snake are included with the full size building. This thing is looking pretty big, and it looks like the interior will be fully stocked with all sorts of products. This Lego Kwik-E-Mart is amazingly close to this MOC, from the Springfield Project. Doctor Who and Wall-E Are Coming To Lego, The Second 2014 Lego Ideas Review

Lego Ideas Second 2014 Wall-E

The Lego Ideas Second 2014 Review has been released. Two new sets have been announced for the next releases. Wall-E made the cut, and from the last Lego Ideas Review, Doctor Who has been approved. Wall-E was originally designed and submitted by Angus MacLane, who actually worked on the original film as an animator and director. It sounds like this model was designed during production. Then years later submitted for review on Lego Ideas. We can now bombard Lego with EVE.

Doctor Who and Companions has also passed the review system. This might just be the most demanded Lego theme in the recent past. Originally created by AndrewClark2, his proposal had a whole lot of competition. The details on which Doctor Who and what companions was not revealed, but we can assume that the TARDIS will be there. Whenever this set is released it will probably be extremely hard to find.

Lego Ideas Second 2014 Doctor Who

Lego passed up a lot of interesting proposals. The Hubble Space Telescope seemed to be a favor for this review, but it didn’t pass. Science and space stuff has had great success in the past. The other proposals, the Invisible Hand, X-Men X Mansion, Lego Lightsabers, UCS AT-AT, Wayne Manor, and the Ghostbuster Headquarters were also passed on. These were all huge sets, and Lego seem to be most comfortable in the $30-50 range.

Lego Ideas Second 2014 Review

The next review will be coming in late spring. Look out for the results on Avenger Helicarrier, Labyrinth Marble Maze, F7A Hornet, The Goonies, The Natural History Museum, The Lord of the Rings Minas Tirith, Jurassic Park, Piano, and the Flying Dutchman. We can all guess at the status of the Helicarrier…
