Accidents Happen With Lego Calligraphy

A blank page. It could be the beginning of a novel, a new journal, a secret diary, a life study, even a comic page, or it could be a giant ink blot. An all too common problem, even for Lego calligraphy. This Lego MOC is called “Blot” and is the work of Milk Mocer. It features a writting desk, a blank book, pen and ink, a pencil, and an eraser. All the tools need to start your next project. Now is a perfect time to practice your Lego calligraphy. The pen is made up of a bunch of the clicky hinge pieces for the handle, and claws for the pen nib. The book has a great shape made with slopes. Everything here is built using SNOT techniques. For some reason the pink 1×1 round really stand out as the pencil eraser, simple and perfect.

Lego Mike Mulligan And His Steam Shovel

Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel is a children’s book published in 1939 by the author Virginia Lee Burton. It is a story about a steam shovel named Mary Anne and its operator Mike Mulligan. Eventually their job is to dig a cellar for a new Town Hall. Lego Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel is a very charming MOC created by Lego Junkie. “I’ve got many fond memories of books that I read as a kid, but one that stands above the rest is Mike Mulligan and His Steam shovel.” This Lego Mary Anne captures many of the details from the book. Including the anthropomorphic face.

A Lego Game of Thrones: Stannis, Bolton, Melisandre, and More

Game of Thrones is back on TV and that means a whole lot of intrigue and trickery is afoot. Legoagogo has taken his fandom of Game of Thrones and Lego to create a whole series of photos and vignettes. So far they have created Minifigures for the Hound, Arya Stark, Brienne, Jaime Lannister, Tyrion Lannister, Cersei Lannister, Stannis, Davos, Melisandre, Theon Greyjoy, Ramsay Bolton, Jon Snow, Ygritte, Hodor, and Bran Stark. This small selection of the possible characters just happens to represent some of Legoagogo’s favorites.

The little vignettes have all been photographed extremely well. They are all instantly recognizable. Check out Ramsay Bolton getting ready to eat some Lego sausage.

King Joffrey, Long May He Reign! Lego Game of Thrones.

Just in time for the season premiere of Game of Thrones, Guy Himber, has created King Joffrey, Long May He Reign. This television shows most infamous villain is looking appropriately evil. Some of these Lego pieces have been put to novel use. Check out the Minifigure arms, used for fingers. And, it even looks like the One Ring is adorning the top of the crown. Even in Lego you still want to slap Joffrey across his smug face.

The Lego Time Machine

Everyone would want a Time Machine. Imagine what you could do with one. Carl Merriam built his own, which is inspired by the classic H.G. Wells novel titled The Time Machine. The novel was first published back in 1895, an important note as at the time the wooden and brass styling was considered futuristic. Now this style is more often associated with Steam Punk, which that is based on old science fiction novels. The red, brown and gold colors here work extremely well, and the blue highlights pop out in a good way. Lego sure has come a long way, something like this would have been impossible to build 10 years ago. As color and part choice was completely different a decade ago. You would have needed a Time Machine in order to build this. Just watch out for Morlocks.

The Hobbit Shortened to 72 Seconds, and in Lego

Some people out there think that 3 films is 2 films too many for the Hobbit. Well this video is for them. The Hobbit in 72 Seconds is the creation of the Brotherhood Workshop. As they helpfully point out, this is only 33,000ish seconds shorter than Peter Jackson’s version. They manage to fit in all of the major scenes, from the Unexpected Gathering to the Battle of Five Armies. It should be pointed out that there are massive spoilers here. This extremely well made video features special effect, brick built scenes, and full voice overs. Not only that but they managed to throw in a little something special at the end. Check it out!
