Three Droids And A Princess, A Lego Star Wars Collection

Miro Dudas Lego Star Wars Collection Leia And Droids

Here is a Lego Star Wars collection of brick built figures based on Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. There is Princess Leia (the only human), R5-D4, R2-D2, and C-3PO. They are built mostly in scale with each other. R2-D2 and R5-D4 are great little builds with a lot of character. In fact the R2-D2 reminds me of the new and rare R2-D2 polybag (30611) from Lego. C-3PO is a great build, and a lot of time went into making sure he was perfect. The key was finding all the correct gold pieces. The Lego vent pieces as the torso wiring is a great solution. Last but not least is Princess Leia. Her brick built figure has the famous hair buns, and is much more posable then she looks. Check out the photos below to see what she can do. A rather large set was also built of the space ship Tantive IV. Allowing a recreation of one of the most famous scenes in the series.

The Princess Leia and R2-D2 were built as a tribute for Carrie Fisher and Kenny Baker. Below, you can really see how well these Lego figures work together. The title of this photo is “”Did you miss me?”

Star Wars Celebration Exclusive Lego Set. The Tatooine Mini-Build.

Lego Star Wars, Tatooine Mini Build

Star Wars Celebration is making a whole lot of news this week. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the big Star Wars: The Force Awakens Teaser #2 release, or the Star Wars Battlefront info. Lego has even released a Star Wars Celebration Exclusive set called the Tatooine Mini-Build. It features 178 pieces and 1 C-3PO Minifigure. The set replicates a Moisture Farm (Lars?), a Sandcrawler, a landspeeder, and mini-builds of C-3PO, R2D2, Luke Skywalker (?), and 2 Jawas. The set is pretty charming but there is no attempt at staying in one scale. If you happen to be in Anaheim, and have tickets to the Celebration, make sure to pick up on of these exclusives!

Lego Star Wars Sandcrawler 75059 Box Back

The final design of the Sandcrawler contains a whole lot of exposed studs. It looks like a lot of SNOT techniques are used to achieve some of the odd angles but Lego opted to not hide the studs. Giving the Sandcrawler a more messy appearance then expected. The final model is almost entirely made up of shades of brown. Keeping with the source material. So if you are looking to rapidly expand your collection of brown bricks, this will be the set for you.

The new Lego Sandcrawler is not just a brown box. The Lego designers have squeezed an impressive amount of features into the design. With 2 fully working cranes, knob based steering, 6+ opening panels, and a whole lot of hidden barrels and storage space. The treads on the Sandcrawler are especially notable and should prove popular with the tank building crowds.
