The Manor Von  Barron, A New Lego Haunted House (10273)

The Manor  Von  Barron, A New Lego Haunted House (10273) Opened

Lego has announced a new huge haunted house set that just happens to be a theme park ride. The Haunted House (10273), also known as Manor Von Barron is part of the Fairgrounds Collection. The set is pretty much Lego’s version of the Tower of Terror from the Disney parks. The Manor is built up around a huge tower, inside of which is a terrifying elevator thrill ride. The set will be sold in a very nice looking black box, with a perfect bound deluxe instruction manual (think Lego Architecture). The Haunted House has a June 1st release, contains 3231 pieces, and will be priced at $249.99/€249.99.

The Manor Von Barron has a whole story backing it up. The house itself is named after Baron Von Baron (also known as Sam Sinister), a Minifigure that appeared in the Adventurers theme. It seems that his manor has been turned into a popular theme park trill ride. Once guest enter the lobby they will find a ticket counter, a candle lit chandelier, a huge organ player, a lot of Egyptian artifacts, a spooky alter, and the elevator itself. On the second floor a huge portrait of the Baron can be found. A neat feature is that a light brick can turn on and project a secret about the painting. A few of the mechanical features include self opening lobby doors, a working elevator, doors that automatically open at the top of the tower, and a fancy flywheel system to drop the elevator back down to the lobby. Check out the video below to see it in action!

The Grand Billund – A Modular Hotel

The Grand Billund - A Modular Hotel - Lego MOC

The Grand Billund is a huge Modular style Lego MOC, created by Will. It is a corner building that features a very fancy hotel, modern elevator, a hotel restaurant called the Billund Bistro, and a swanky rooftop pool. Most of the official Lego modular buildings are three floors, but this hotel stands at five floors. A multi-story hotel sign similar to the Cafe Corner points to the front door. Which has doors (similar to the Palace Cinema) manned by a bellhop that open up into a spacious lobby. The second floor through the forth are small but completely furnish hotel rooms. Three per floor. The fifth floor features a penthouse suite. A perfect room to spend a night in after getting married at the nearby Town Hall.

The biggest (litereraly) feature of the building is the modern glass elevator. Lit up with bright green lights it is the quickest way up to your floor. The Grand Billund hotel is all wired up for night. The different color temperature LEDs shows off the older part of the building and the newer remodeled area, a great detail.

The bridal suite has very lavish furnishings. A huge bed, massive mirror (from the Assembly Square), balcony access, and a full kitchen. All thats left is the rooftop. The only way up to the top is by the glass elevator, but once outside your Lego Minifigures can enjoy a refreshing pool, hot tub, and lounge around in the sun. The SNOT style flooring is especially eye catching.

The Amazing Lego Great Ball Contraption (GBC) Layout 2012.9

The Lego Great Ball Contraption (GBC) Layout 2012.9 is an incredibly famous MOC. The whole thing is built using a modular system. A total of 17 modules combine to create this massive contraption. It runs 500 Lego balls, at a rate of 1 ball per second, through a 31 meter course. Featuring zigzag stairs, pneumatics, shooters, trains, screw and spiral lifts, elevators and conveyor belts. Lego bricks, technic and Mindstorm, all come together in a very unique machine. One thing is certain this Lego machine is loud.

The Lego Great Ball Contraption (GBC) 2012.9 is a creation of YouTube user Akiyuky, more contraptions can be found on his blog: http://legokarakuri.blog91.fc2.com
