Padme Amidala The Queen Of Naboo

Queen Amidala is about to get wrapped up in the Star Wars. She has to figure out how to stop the Trade Blockade which will result in her becoming a galactic Senator. During that time she will get mixed up with a nine year old boy, who she will eventually marry. During which she will be battling droids and surviving the battle of Geonosis. A very busy future for her. The peaceful halls of her palace on Naboo is a perfect scene for a Lego MOC. This Lego scene is called “Queen Amidala” and is created by AC Pin. The Amidala Minifigure is one of the more rare ones in Lego Star Wars, having only appeared in one set. Which means a used Minifig currently goes for about $40! What better way to display a rare figure than to base a whole build around it. The palace features some neat little details. The pattern on the floor, with the 1×2 grills along the walls looks very nice. The columns are appropiatly ornate, with Lego Battle Droids used in the column crown detailing. The stained glass and chandelier stand out too. What really sells this scene is the lighting, with it shining through the windows and highlighting Amidala. It gives a somber feel to the whole thing.

The Private Collection At Thunder’s Mansion

Johnny Thunder has spent decades collecting the rarest treasures and artifacts from all over the world. An impressive accomplishment seeing that his archenemy, Baron Von Barron seems to have kept a few of his own treasures (which can be found in the new Lego Haunted House 10273). This Lego MOC, called Thunder’s Mansion, is created by Caleb Saw. This creation features a massive room that even fits a skeleton hanging from the rafters. The floor is a great design, being built out of 1×1 headlight pieces in groups of four. The end result is a pattern remarkably close to houndstooth. There is a rug on the floor that even has upturned edges, all completely done with Lego. Inside you will find Egyptian murals, a copy of Moby Brick, samurai helmets, tribal headdresses, a golden idol (Indiana Jones might want this back!), a golden staff, old swords, and many many treasure maps. There is so much stuff crammed in here. Every time you look at the details you will find something new. The whole thing is aglow in a nice warm light, provided by built in LEDs. A great way to light a Lego MOC.

There are so many official Lego Minifigures out there. Thousands and thousands of unique designs. Many of the Minifigs are worth a lot of money, but a few of them stand out. Over at Mental Floss they have compiled a short list of some of the most rare and exclusive Minifigures. Most of them are promotions chase figures associated with certain events. If you happen to have a Red Sox Fan, Cloud City Boba Fett, New York I Love Yoda, International Space Station Alien, or other rare Lego Minifigures, you may have something worth over 500 dollars!

A Lego Color Chart, Can You Find Any Missing?

Have you ever wondered how many colors Lego has in its collection? There are probably more then you thought. Jeremy Moody has made it his mission to collect and catalog every released color. Some of these colors go back decades, and are extremely rare.

“Here is my chart of all known named LEGO colors. This started as an attempt to collect colors of 2x4s, and turned into collecting every color in as close as possible to the size and shape of a 2×4. There are some color names LEGO is known to have used, not included in this chart. However, it is unknown what parts or sets were ever made in those colors, or if they were used at all beyond trial pieces.”

Benny’s Celebration, A Classic Spaceman Statue

Benny played a pivotal role in the Lego Movie, and after retiring in his spaceship (I would like to think) went to celebrate with this Classic Spaceman statue. This little Lego vignette is the creation of Vanjey_Lego. I had no idea that the classic spaceman helmet came in grey, and it turns out to be a really rare piece from 1982! Thats not the only rare piece on display here…
