Take A Spin With This Lego Solar System

Take A Spin With This Lego Solar System

The solar system is a magnificent display of physics and gravity. Huge planets spinning around the sun, each in their own orbit. Somehow not hitting each other in the process. Models that show how the solar system moves over time (an Orrery) can be extremely complicated. This Lego MOC of the Solar System is created by Thomas Rodger. There is a lot of math involved in trying to get the speeds of the planets as accurate as possible. And, that is with out Pluto! The designer has figured that this Lego Orrery is about 96.5% accurate. It uses one power functions motor to drive everything, which adds up to be about 4,000 Lego pieces. There are instructions on how to build this yourself that have been made available, but if you need to buy everything it will cost around $350-$600. Even though a lot of the pieces are common and cheap, there are some extremely rare ones found in the gear rack system. A very interesting note, is that brand new gears are needed. As any wear and tear will effect how this model works. Make sure to check out the video to see it in action!

You can find out more about this model, and how to get instructions on how to build it over here: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-38774/jollyrodger/8-planet-solar-system/

Stupid Lego Invader Zim

Stupid Lego Invader Zim MOC

This Lego Invader Zim build is created by MadLEGOman. It is based off the animated show from 2001 to 2002. A very short lived cartoon that ended up having a huge influence on popular culture. Appearing in comic books, action figures, clothes, video games, and even in theme park rides. The story of an alien secretly living among humans as they research how to conquer the world resonated with a lot of people. This Lego MOC features Zim, and his robot servant Gir. Created as an entry into the Iron Builders challenge, the goal of which is to use as many Lego hammers and wrenches in a build as possible. You can find a bunch here, Zim’s antennae, his fingers, and the text of the flaming sign. Can you find all 22 wrenches and 10 hammers? A great detail for this build is the tiny Earth being crushed. A great Lego sphere, that even has oceans and continents.

Lego Imp And Doom Slayer Are Eternally Ready

Lego Imp And Doom Slayer

The Doom Slayer (Doomguy) and the Imp have been working together for over 25 years. In the newest game, Doom Eternal, the fight has been brought to Earth. The demons have overrun everything and this Lego Imp and Lego Doom Slayer are ready for a new fight. These Lego MOCs have been done in the BrickHeadz style, which ends up working very well. Their low resolution history is easier to adapt to this blocky theme. Check out the Imp with all of its protruding horns, red evil eyes, and fireball abilities. It is the grunt of the demon army. Then there is the Slayer, all done up in the classic suit, and armed with a pistol. Now if only someone will build a BFG, we might just be able to take back Earth.
