The Port of Quebec, A Lego Pirate MOC
“Captain Lafayette was proud of his crew, they had sailed with the main fleet into the Caribbean and helped bring terrible ruin to the Pirate Scum lurking on those light blue seas and now were enjoying a much deserved return back to their home port in Québec. Little did Lafayette know thought that some local Pirate Scum were planning a heist, not just any heist but a heist to steal his ship.”
The Port of Québec is an amazing Lego Pirate MOC. Built by Mattius Xavier for Beyond the New World: Colonialism, a Flickr group building Lego MOCs focused on the exploitation and colonization of the Americas. These type of groups have been increasing in popularity, which is a great thing, because they produce some amazing stuff. The Port of Québec looks like a very busy seaport. The use of the newer expressive Lego Minifigure heads adds a lot of life to the display. Plus the trans-blue water looks great. There is a lot of action in this scene.

Lego Friends Castle + Superheroes + Orcs = Friendsington Castle
At first glance the Friendsington Castle looks like a normal friendly Lego Friends castle. But, then you notice some of the details such as the Orcs and Troll, or the redecorated Batcave, or even Jack Sparrow. Friendsington Castle is a weird blend of Lego Friends, Superheroes and other Lego themes. There is a certain charm to the madness. Created by fujiia in collaboration with Kloou for the Fana’Briques 2013 expo.
“An ordinary day at Friendsington Castle. Despite the naughty Orcs’ constant attacks, our Friends prefer to develop their artistic senses with little regard for those poor Superheroes.”
One of the most surprising details is under the castle. It looks like the Lego Friends have spent a lot of time redecorating the Batcave. Turning it from a dark and gloomy cave into a bright and clean place for cats. Even Batman’s Tumbler has been completely repainted. Now featuring a green and yellow scheme. Batman is probably less than enthusiastic about these changes, but may be even more upset that Wolverine seems to have found his way into the cave. Superman seems to be without pants, and Spiderman has just gotten a wild hairdo. This is just a sample of the crazy going on here.

Captain Cook’s Galleon
Pirate ships are one of those classic Lego themes. Lego has had a tough time creating a good mini Pirate ship (3 hull pieces or less). It is a tough scale to work in and usually the proportions end up weird. Here Pippo Zane has succeeded in creating Captain Cook’s Galleon. Using a brown, gold, and red color scheme works well. With careful attention to detail with the main Cabin, Poop deck, and Forecastle. The red carpet and curtains into the main Cabin are an especially nice touch.
